  1. Vikings reportedly getting rebuffed trying to move up, backup plan is Byron Murphy at #11 and I would think they hope for Nix at #23. I feel like everyone always thinks a lot of QB's go high but 1 or 2 drop. Hopefully NE makes them pay through the nose. 🙂
  2. I was thinking about what if Murphy drops to them as I read he would be a very good one gap player and like you say could save them from another Clark contract. But the scouting report I read also said he was undersized 6'0' and 300lbs so needed to be lined up next to a bigger guy. If bigger just means taller than Wyatt would work. DT's can be a little undervalued in the draft too, Aaron Donald I think got picked at #12 and there was a lot of hype around him. But I don't expect him to be there at #25. I haven't read up on Newton much.
  3. I can see your point and I know others who feel the same way but for me it isn't a TV show, it's the draft and it's supposed to be live, we should get the picks somewhat real time. It drives me nuts to wait 5 minutes after pick is in to find out who the Packers picked. Last year I heard Van Ness here first, there is plenty of suspense for me already and I don't need to hear it from Goodell. But you won't hear the pick from me here.
  4. Count me on the Cooper Dejean bandwagon. He checks a lot of need boxes for us, I would be fine if they have to trade up to get him. If he is gone OL please. I saw Peter Schrager on GMFB(good to see it back) this morning pleading with everyone to watch the draft without watching the internet for the pick to be leaked before the NFL shoves 5 more minutes of commercials down our throat. Of course, he works for the NFL and they're the ones who created the problem. I really wish they would go back to the commissioner walking up right after you see "pick is in" but we know that is not happening.
  5. Is Yelich expected to come off DL today?
  6. I think last camp he was competing at C, RG, and RT, the idea being he was going to end up a starter somewhere. Then Nijman must have disappointed, and Tom was the RT. So I agree, if he is better inside and they land a RT at the top of the draft they may still move Tom.
  7. I saw an over/under betting chart somewhere that had Wilson at 26 and ECooper at 41. I have also seen Wilson mocked to the packers in round 1 at least once so it feels like he may have passed Cooper as the top off ball LB. I would be thrilled to land either at #58.
  8. It's pretty annoying that the NFL would pull something like this after season tickets have been paid for. But I don't think they would put 2 Packer home games international in 3 years, Murphy wouldn't allow it.
  9. They got a lot less for Diggs than we got for Adams but most of that I think is Diggs is sort of a cancer. 2 teams got sick enough of his antics to send him packing now despite all the talent.
  10. Probably a better story than I got drunk and fell down. 🙂
  11. Thanks, still makes me teary eyed. I feel like I may have asked this in a previous year but was that game televised in Wisconsin? I am pretty sure I watched the Rangers broadcast as we had one of those big satellite dishes and back then it was mostly just road games that were televised. The Rangers announcers weren't nearly as animated as Bob when Deer hit his homer. They could feel it coming just like everyone else and it was such a no doubter off the bat.🙂
  12. Yeah I know I just get negative in game especially in basketball . Disappointing for sure, I really thought Marquette had a surprise champion look this season.
  13. No, it’s a laugher.
  14. Walker did improve during the season last year and I think he could be an average NFL starting LT but that's a position where you want to be better than average. If Gutes landed bookend OT's in the 4th and 7th rounds of the draft 2 years ago put him in the HOF but I suspect he is not finished there, even Tom was talked about as our eventual starting center not that long ago. If we don't trade up I would be surprised if OL isn't addressed with one of the top 2 picks but I would still bet on a CB first because that's what the Packers do. Getting Alt would be amazing if we could pull it off without giving up our '25 first rounder.
  15. Most Packer fans I know view OT as a huge need, seems like posters here do as well. We think we have our franchise QB, you protect him with an all pro LT if you can. Like others here it’s the only position I would make a big move up for. And with all the QBs and WRs at the top it could get interesting for sure.
  16. When I saw the thread title I was thinking the same game, I wasn't working or in school at the time and was super excited for season after the promising 87 campaign and that win was a blast.
  17. I agree, like many of us I thought Jones was pretty close to done after the knee injury. I was a little annoyed they couldn't just offer him a little more and have a great duo but after thinking about it a few days that may have not even been on the table. Part of making the move to Jacobs was having a guy who can handle more carries, it really is more of a luxury than they could afford paying 2 starting RB's and neither the Packers nor Jones were likely interested at that point. It may blow up in their face but I think the odds are they made the right choice so I am just looking forward to seeing what Jacobs can do. Change is fun.
  18. Why not just keep Fields as a backup/gadget player? He has talent and is going to just be a backup in Pitt, it’s not like they did him a favor. Bears are dumb.
  19. Other than Love we don’t have a ton of guys to extend in the next couple of years. The entire offense is on rookie deals except Jenkins and Jacobs right now. I think we can afford another free agent or 2 if they are the right fit, cap needs to be look at over years rather than what space or dead cap we have at the moment. I do agree long term it would be nice to front load Love’s deal but I am not sure how much it matters with cap growing the way it does.
  20. Maybe the Vikes like McCarthy and don’t want to risk waiting or maybe NE wants out of #3. I don’t think they make the trade now without being sure of their next move but they may have 2 3rd round comp picks next year so it’s possible they just had the pick to spare and like the top of this draft.
  21. I have sort of hoped they may land him as I think they liked him the year he was drafted. But he apparently has really turned off a lot of teams for whatever reason, ex top 5 picks still young usually get overpaid in FA. Jerome Baker?
  22. Vikings trade up into the first round with Houston, giving up mainly #42 and their '25 2nd rounder to move up to #23. A trade like that this early could only mean they have their sights set on a QB and want to have ammo to move up.
  23. Dillon is back. Assuming it isn’t for much glad to see him back.
  24. I think if the ball bounce between the 20 and goal line and goes in it is still at the 20 but if it lands in the end zone it is the 35. I would prefer they just get rid of the kickoffs but they need the onside kicks to keep people watching the game late for TV revenue reasons. It's not a horrible change and sounds like it would help with less collisions.
  25. I don’t know that and I actually don’t think Jones was willing to come back once they signed Jacobs. But we do know their offer was less than what he got as a FA.
