  1. I feel like every team who comes here for the a cold weather playoff game does something like that even if not that specific high school
  2. Doesn’t sound good for Bakh to go but Mercilus and Z activated from IR which is great news.
  3. The same NFLN show that prompted my post actually had a segment a little later where they said just what you did, that teams with elite QB's get unfairly labeled as finesse teams. But I wonder if having the Qb changes how you build the team, we do seem to build our oline in the middle rounds and focus on versatile guys who can pass block first. We value CB's and edge rushers on defense with stopping the pass in mind as we assume teams will have to pass to keep up with us. I can't remember how many first round lineman on both sides of the ball the Niners had 2 years ago but it was a lot.
  4. Niners are physical, Packers are soft. That sums up what the talking heads who are picking SF are saying. I sure hope Jones and Dillon mash them in the 4th quarter but I have to admit I am worried that soft narrative is true.
  5. Alexander questionable as well, not exactly the boost we were all hoping for after the bye week. I guess we have to remember most of these guys would have been done on IR years past and hope to survive this week and maybe get more back next week. A little disappointed how this week is going but in the end 2 weeks or so ago I was hoping for just Turner and Jaire. Of course the Niners injury report yesterday looked great for them, even the DL with the high ankle sprain was practicing.
  6. It is certainly starting to feel like he really wants to get back out there but it's just not working out. We will have to see what his game status is, MVS likely out I would think.
  7. Bahktiari and MVS not practicing today.
  8. They were able to shut down Cook a couple of games ago when they didn't have to respect the QB, I expect them to make Jimmy G beat them first but of course that Browns game sticks with me. We should be able to get them to a few 3rd and longs, if we can stop more than we give up I expect a win by 2 scores. The defense is always the worry for us in the playoffs and this year isn't any different. But this is Rodgers' Packer legacy post season run and he knows it, he needs to win a game like this by himself if we need it. He can't lose to Garrapolo again.
  9. MVS out of practice today, not a good sign that his return yesterday went well. Sort of thinking he might be out, we have been surviving a lot of games without him but feel like his deep threat opens up things for us.
  10. Gamesmanship. He'll be out there unless his knee looks and feels like a water balloon. You are probably right. Someone just texted me that Jimmy G might not play, everything I have seen says he should be OK but Niners fans seem fine with going with Lance. Maybe some gamesmanship going on there too and we maybe get a surprise on Saturday.
  11. He was a healthy scratch a few weeks ago which was never really explained so I think you are right. Weird though as he was probably our third best DL and it's the playoffs.
  12. I am probably reading too much into this but MLF says Bakh will practice today and they will see how he responds. Not exactly a “he’s good to go”endorsement.
  13. Todays injury report: Limited - Jaire and MVS Full - Turner,Jones,Rodgers,Campbell DNP - Bakh Getting Turner back is a big boost, Jaire still limited sort bothers me. Bahk on load management. Other players Z,Mercilus,Cobb still on IR but practiced. MLF says hopeful for Z and jaire to play, would be ecstatic if Mercilus played.
  14. I am guessing maybe they can tell the severity and maybe he has been back quick from concussions before? I know in the past with players they say expected to clear protocol even before they do.
  15. He also apparently has a shoulder sprain but is expected to play. Sounds like they expect Bosa to bounce back quick as well.
  16. I think I would rather play the niners than the Rams so things played out as well as we could reasonably hope. Avoiding playing both Tampa and Rams was why I liked the seeds before week 18 shook it up. Someone mentioned a couple of weeks ago beating Niners and Tampa to get in would be pretty cool if we can get it done.
  17. That was awful, worst playoff throw since Joe Webb?
  18. If Bosa isn’t back in practice by Wednesday he is probably out, it seems like guys get right back or they are out a week. Hard to believe Warner will be anywhere near 100%.
  19. I wonder though about how much better a play from the 30(if Dak slides earlier and gets it spiked) is than 2 plays from the 40, it’s still sort of a Hail Mary from there as niners will put everyone back in the end zone. It maybe depends on your players and what they are good at, maybe MM had another hook and ladder play in mind or something else short of the end zone. Sounds like MM will be back but of course Jones may be taking some time on it and everyone is going to say absolutely be back until he isn’t.
  20. Yes, the Rodgers play at the end of the niners game was the better way you do that and I think there is also a difference between getting yards for a FG and what the Cowboys were facing yesterday. You are giving up 2, maybe even 3 shots at the end zone from the 40 for the maybe 50/50 shot you can even get to that one play from the 25 which is what, maybe a 20% conversion rate at best? To many things have to go perfect to pull off that draw, including the refs which you can't control.
  21. To be fair a lot of the things that made it a bad matchup 2 years ago are still there. They can run the ball and our run d is still suspect. They can get a good rush with 4 and that is the best way to get Rodgers out of his groove. Bad Qb, probably the most similar team we have played recently is the Browns. But I think we got this, the defense is better than 2 years ago, Campbell is better than Martinez and we get some guys back hopefully. Can’t wait for Saturday.
  22. Well the consensus of The morning show people is this is worst possible scenario for the Packers. I am not sure I agree but it does have that anyone but the Giants feel that we had watching wildcard weekend in 2011 season. But there are no gimees in this round. Line opened at -4.5 now at -5.5, likely due to the injuries.
  23. It was a dumb call, 14 seconds isn’t enough, and typical of MM to circle the wagons and defend it to the end. With the niners guarding the sidelines that was the best opportunity to throw in the end zone. It was a small miracle they got as close as they did and they pissed it away. Loved it.
  24. Do Packers fans start crying before the game is even decided? Geez that was pathetic. That CBS color guy was so annoying and seemed to be rooting for the Cowboys, and here I thought we caught a break no Aikman. Edit: That was Romo, right? That explains it.
