  1. The defense will get better. The bat is special.
  2. MOST words spoken by McCarver are stupid. However, EVERY word spoken by Len Kasper is like nails on a chalkboard for me. He's got a voice best suited for braille.
  3. Which is why when given the choice of either team broadcast, I'm actually watching the Cards feed with Tim freakin' McCarver. That's how put off I am by Len Kasper's voice.
  4. What do you expect them to say? "No, we don't have any confidence in our QB, we're just gonna quit?" I wasn't referring to their "public voice". Thought I made that clear enough. Behind the scenes there were people in the organization starting to push Mason above Ben. The injury may help them avoid the awkwardness of a Favre / Rodgers dilemma. If Rudolph takes the reigns and runs with it the way they're expecting him to, it will make it easier for them to justify not going back to Big Ben. The fact that Pitt gave up their 2020 1st rounder should be a pretty good clue as to just how high they are on Rudolph. Actions speak louder than words.
  5. As I mentioned in the general NFL thread, the Steelers are 100% sold on Rudolph and are gunning to still make the playoffs this year. Minkah was a win-now trade.
  6. There are whispers out there that Mason Rudolph has looked so good that the Steelers don't think they'll miss a beat with Ben on the shelf. The Minkah trade was a win-now move and the Steelers think Rudolph will keep the 2020 first rounder in the 20s. Tip to fantasy footballers: Add Mason Rudolph
  7. Apparently the way to ensure victory if you're the team in the field in this scenario is to bring in a lefty to pitch.
  8. I love when they do this and would like to see it more often.
  9. The same people responding to him each and every time isn't all that much less annoying. At what point should the expectation just be to use the ignore function rather than complain about someone's each and every post?
  10. Btw, the reports out there right now say a 2nd gets it done. Possibly a 3rd plus. No brainer.
  11. The way I look at NFL trades is this... If Minkah Fitzpatrick were available in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft and my turn came up, would I pick him? Given that he was one of the best slot cover DBs in the NFL last year and my current slot guy is Tramon Williams, and Minkah is a known quantity on a great contract, I would run up to the podium to take him. So why wouldn't I give up that same 2nd rounder today and get nearly a full season more of Minkah?
  12. Ticketing Houser for the pen would be shortsighted. Woodruff was lit up like a Christmas tree the 3rd time through prior to this year. Sequencing, pitch usage percentage, and finding the right throttle as a starter requires a learning curve. Houser has shown plenty to continue starting games. The Brewers don't even let many of them go 3 times through anyway. It would be great to have a few who can and Houser still has a chance to be one of those types.
  13. Minkah to GB is being talked to death on busier Packers forums and just about everyone is for it depending on price. Your "gem" is everyone else's "no duh".
  14. Disagreeing with a long OP via an economical use of words shouldn't be a problem. The simple answer to "will Yelich win MVP" is No. And the simple reason is that the voters won't go to the lengths to justify it that the OP did.
  15. Uhh, aside from the most important aspect being talent, scheming is entirely based on trying to disguise what you're intending to do. Nobody is telling 11 guys to go out there and wing it. Scheme can help cover up for talent deficiencies but it works even better when there are good players executing it.
  16. Precisely, thank you.
  17. Not sure how one's hitting prowess factors into this. I'd love to see the study correlating rate of bone heal to one's ability to hit a baseball. I also don't recall Jeff Keppinger being a physical specimen. Please find a sense of humor during your research, too. I'll look in the same spot I'll be looking for your medical degree.

  19. The post above yours provides an example of someone who returned to action in just over 5 weeks.
  20. Is Doug Melvin still a senior advisor for the Brewers? I could see Melvin and Bowden being pals.
  21. So basically he's league average at the plate in spite of an injury and elite with the glove at a key defensive position. What a disaster! We have to get rid of him!
  22. This needs to happen for Players Weekend next year...
  23. Since this place is so depressing right now, I'm calling on the baseball gods to make "Relax Roxane" the slogan for the 2019 Brewers season and mark the turning point when the team went on an epic run lasting well into the postseason. Game 1 starts tonight, current record 0-0.
  24. I wasn't on Twitter. You can too and you did.
