  1. I can always tell when my company’s execs think the economy is going to crash. In preparation for 2023 we cut our capital budget in half, offered early retirement buyouts, laid off 3000 or so workers, cut travel to only essential trips, cut training funds and more. It is always of sign of things to come with the overall economy. We are deep in preparation mode right now. Oh........and my promotion cycle always ends up at the kick off of this austerity budget so all promotions are on hold until further notice. My boss just started the cycle that takes about 6 months in Q3 of 2022.
  2. Probably yes for people with chronic conditions. As a diabetic, when my first medication began to loose its effectiveness I had conversations with my Dr about what might be next. Over a year or so of appointments he mentioned the options and I then chose my next med based on my research which was influenced by TV commercials, insurance coverage and out of pocket cost.. That being said, I do dislike those commercials.
  3. Let's hope Contreras is not this but I present to you Jonathan Schoop for consideration: He too was broken hearted upon being traded to the Brewers.
  4. And before long 4 teams didn't want him. It could be more like dating that hot cheer leader only to find out she is a piece of work you can't stand. Not that I think this is a bad pick up but your analogy does not dispute what was said.
  5. If it is not cost prohibitive, go for it. However, most discussion I have seen on this topic is that it is cheaper and more practical to buy a regular truck, either gas or electric, and a Honda generator. If you rely on a truck for a generator you will soon find that you need to choose between keeping something powered up vs running into town for any reason.
  6. Towing is not in the ballgame yet due to current technology. TFL tested the Ford Lightning with a 7500 lb camper and it made it 86 miles before it had to be charged. The Tesla semi has been on hold for years because current battery technology requires a battery so large it consumes something like 25% of payload to get the range needed for OTR trucking. There needs to be a step change in battery technology to handle towing situations. There are some promising developments but each option has it's own drawbacks at this time. As far as rentals having charging stations, maybe high end rentals will but my daughter can't even get grounded outlets installed in her apartment.
  7. My wife and I tried the free trial of Kindle Unlimited sometime in 2020, I wonder why. We then rolled that into a paid subscription. I have never read so much in my life, I always struggled to keep it going. I now have an incredible streak going. I read on an iPad so it is always near me in my down time. I just finished The Debt Collector series by John Mills, 13 books. This was the second series about a bad dude doing bad stuff for good reasons helping those in need for one reason or another. I seem to like the conflicting notion of cheering for a bad dude doing good even though his methods are less than humane. I have read a lot of first edition writers on Kindle Unlimited which gives struggling writers, as well as established writers, another forum to distribute their work.

    Pizza

I forgot to add, Carbone's has the best Pizza Sandwich (calzone) I have ever had including homemade.
  9. I think there's a big difference between Bally's Sports channel being removed and people being denied access to their local ABC affiliate. Big, huge, gargantuan difference. ESPN, while not quite as influential as it once was, is still a pretty big deal as well. The local NBC affiliate in the twin cities has been missing from Dish since the beginning of October. I don't see that one getting resolved soon.

    Pizza

You have to go east for good pizza here. Grand Pizza in Stillwater was a go to when I worked in the area 10+ years ago, I hear they are still good. Carbone's is generally good at least at the east-east side locations (Wisconsin). New Richmond has Vinny's Sports Bar + Grill (excellent). River Falls has Luigi's (very good). If you are St. Paul or west, probably a long drive for just a pizza but it does get you back to God's Country for a bit.
