  1. Ward is not listed and, honestly, I can’t find where that was originally confirmed. However, I reached out to him last night and he said he is indeed playing and can’t wait to get back on the field.
  2. That was me, clearly both are ahead of schedule in their rehab. I had previously heard that Black was hoping to participate from the get-go, but there was a chance that his spot may go to another Brewers farmhand if he isn’t quite there yet. Not sure if that is still the case.
  3. I’ll check in on him again because it has been a while. At the time, Black and a few other members of the organization had told me the hope was he would get close to a normal offseason of training but no game action until the spring.
  4. If Uribe is still on the timetable that they originally set for him, he will not be ready to pitch until the spring. Also want to put it out there since they were mentioned in the first post, CF Carlos Rodriguez and 2B Tyler Black will, without a doubt, be out until the spring.
  5. I hate speaking negatively about this organization, but, despite the retraction that Barker posted a while back to clear up his previous accusations, both Webb and Barker were quite blunt when I spoke to them following their releases. They painted a picture of an organization that forced them out because it simply didn’t think they were worth it’s time to rehab. In Webb’s case, he pitched an entire season with a partially torn ACL and was then released because, understandably, his results weren’t up to par. I do understand that you have to take player’s words with a grain of salt following a release, but their stories were just too consistent to dismiss in my opinion. Also, I honestly can’t say I know of a player that would rather go through the rehab process without assistance from an organization but I may be wrong.
  6. Wes Clarke is moving up to AA Biloxi, possible that more names will be headed with him
  7. What you say is definitely fair, but I think you should check again on Robinson and Devanney. This is not the first season in which either has impressed. Also, I don’t know who Richards is

  9. I guess at that point it’s just playing the odds. There are many guys on the lists above that the organization desperately wants to keep. It’s just extremely unlikely that guys like Castaneda, Jarvis, or Valerio would be picked simply because there is a number of other prospects every year that are “MLB-ready” and have had better numbers at higher levels than those I have just mentioned, and most of those players don’t even get picked because most organizations aren’t even in a position to take a chance on that roster spot. That doesn’t mean that the Brewers don’t value those guys, it’s just they (and the other organizations) know those players aren’t ready yet.

  11. Turang, Robinson, and Uribe are all locks from what I have heard. Clayton Andrews is a guy that the organization is still quite high on so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is added.

  13. Vinyard had agreed to sign with the Crew and had confirmed (twice), there was question marks that came up, however, on the Brewers end following his physical unfortunately.
  14. Welp, that is why I posted in here. Chourio and Quero both had some minor injury concerns that were checked out by Brewers medical staff in Milwaukee. They are headed back to Cedar Rapids (and not Biloxi ) to rejoin the team.
  15. Unfortunately, I have to post on this thread until I get more clarification, but Jackson Chourio and Jeferson Quero are currently at the airport in Milwaukee. I am nowhere near fluent in Spanish but there was talk about Biloxi.
  16. The Brewers have signed RHP Jonathan Beymer as an undrafted free agent out of Campbell University. He is a 6’2” 180 lb. right-handed pitcher that has spent the majority of his collegiate career as a reliever. Soon-to-be 24-years-old, Beymer has seen something click this summer between two wood-bat league teams after struggling with Campbell the past two seasons.
  17. Believe I have enough to post on this thread now. SS Eric Brown, Jr. and 1B Branlyn Jaraba have been promoted to A Carolina. I spoke with Jaraba this morning and also confirmed with Brown that they both had arrived last night.
  18. Posting here because I’m currently waiting on another confirmation, but word is that Eric Brown, Jr. and Branlyn Jaraba are headed to Carolina. There may be others moving up with them as well although it looks like just the duo at the moment.
  19. LHP Clayton Andrews is currently on track for an early to mid September return to game action. However, the organization is still deciding whether to have him return at that point or wait until instructional camp this fall. Unfortunately, it also appears that his days as a two-way player have come to an end, although that was always somewhat of a long-shot.
  20. The whole situation regarding Luke Barker is quite disappointing and this latest update does not match up with the conversation I had with him just this morning. Like I said to Luke, if he didn’t before (which he did), he certainly has an army of fans rooting for him now.
  21. RHP Mason Vinyard has been signed as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky University. 6’2” 210 lb. relief pitcher that showcased exceptional strikeout stuff this year.
  22. Just spoke with Hendry Mendez who said he is feeling better today and resting. His hope is to return to the field in a matter of weeks, if not sooner. The member of the Mudcats coaching staff that I spoke with is much more cautious, however, telling me that the organization expects him to return this season, timeline uncertain. Whatever the case may be, I’m sure it’s safe to say that we are all just happy that his mind is on returning to the field already.
  23. Thank you for saying this! 1.) I know a handful of farmhands that visit this site fairly regularly 2.) Every player in any organization has the ability to turn things around no matter how bad of a stretch they may endure (hat tip to my great friend and better person Arbert Cipion)
  24. 1B Ernesto Martinez, Jr, currently on the A+ Wisconsin 60-day IL, began hitting off a tee and fielding ground balls this week. At the moment, he is expected to return to game action in mid-August. For those that may not know, players on the roster of full-season affiliates can be sent on rehab assignments to the complex leagues prior to their IL time expiring just as MLB players can begin rehab assignments in the minors. This does not apply to Martinez, however, as his initial 60 days have already passed.
  25. Reece Walling is an interesting name to follow. UDFA out of high school that decided to pass on college. Don’t have enough background on him to whip up a scouting report but it’s certainly an interesting storyline to keep an eye on.
