  1. LHP Brandon Knarr is hoping to get back on the mound this fall and could be a candidate to join the handful of Brewers farmhands that participate in the Arizona Fall League.
  2. I believe it was a non-TJ elbow surgery that was supposed to be a shorter recovery than Tommy John.
  3. Unfortunately, Galindez experienced a setback not long after that last update. At this point, he is three weeks out from throwing live to hitters.
  4. The Brewers have signed RHP Fausto Charbel Barreras to a minor league contract out of the Carlos Elizalde Baseball Academy in Mexico. He currently works in the low 90’s with his fastball, but his best pitch is a hammer curveball. He will be assigned to one of the DSL squads.
  5. RHP Edwin Jimenez is a little further along as the current belief is that he will be ready to return to game action within the next two weeks.
  6. Little tidbit here- LHP Joey Broughton’s current timeline is 100% effort bullpens in early July, live BP sessions in late July and game action sometime in August which would mean a pro debut with the Mudcats.
  7. Originally scheduled for a 1-inning appearance in the ACL tonight, RHP Hayden Robinson’s 2025 debut has been pushed back to Tuesday.
  8. 2B Josh Adamczewski is dealing with lower back pain and is set to undergo imaging tomorrow to determine the severity.
  9. RHP Bishop Letson has been dealing with some shoulder soreness, but all signs have been encouraging as of late and he does not expect an IL stint.
  10. As per Tom Flanagan today, O’Rae will undergo surgery on his wrist this week and is, unfortunately, out for the entire season.
  11. Robinson is scheduled to make his first appearance of the season on June 6th which will be a 1-inning start for the ACL Brewers and he will progress from there.
  12. RHP Yorman Galindez is full go off of the mound and will be facing live hitters this coming week. His return to game action seems to be just around the corner!
  13. RHP Fray Morelo has been released. The Colombian native has not pitched since 2022 due to injuries, but, when healthy, showed great promise despite significant control problems.
  14. I’ll try to dig some info up, but, at this point, all I know is that he’s at the complex in Arizona.
  15. You can add RHP Wenderlyn King to the preliminary ACL roster. He will be one of the most interesting arms to watch in Arizona this season and could very well end the campaign with the Mudcats.
  16. DSL schedule hasn’t been finalized yet, but it is expected to begin the first week of June again.
  17. As I mentioned in the transaction thread, you can add RHP Argenis Aparicio to the preliminary ACL roster.
  18. No, Duran will turn 17 on July 24. He would have been eligible when the signing period opened on January 15.
  19. Old friend RHP Kent Hasler has signed with the Gastonia Ghost Peppers for the 2025 season.
  20. Now is the time we will begin to see more players brought over from the DSL academy in preparation for the ACL season that begins on May 3. RHP Argenis Aparicio is the latest arrival in Arizona.
  21. C Eric Martinez has joined the Rattlers for the time being, likely until Edgardo Ordonez is activated from the IL, and may just serve as a bullpen catcher until that point.
  22. I was referring more to his age rather than anything. They have been very conservative with his promotions throughout his career. Teams don’t hesitate to have a prospect skip a level (or multiple levels) these days. While there were definitely plenty of injury concerns along the way and he hasn’t always been quite this polished, he could certainly have been promoted to full-season ball in 2019, to Wisconsin in 2021, to Biloxi earlier than he was, and to Nashville at any point last year. I honestly hadn’t broken it down by PA’s so that gives me a fresh perspective about it. All things considered, I just like the way the organization has handled him, allowing him to mature as a player and not A.) giving up on him as another failed big-time international FA in his rookie ball days or B.) seeing him start to come into his own, hitting the gas, and burning him out the way many prospects have been recently. I hope people are starting to realize that, despite a slightly advanced age, he is absolutely every bit of a top prospect as any other player in the system.
  23. I remember seeing flashes of this version of EMJ even as far back as 2019 with the Rocky Mountain Vibes, but he truly is a testament of how taking things slow with some players can pay off. While players like Chourio and Made are the obviously exception, I hate the fact that rushing top prospects through the minors has become the norm. I truly believe it ruins a lot of talented players the way some organizations (Angels, Padres, etc.) push these youngsters. Some players take time to develop, but when they arrive they are much more polished and ready to contribute.
  24. Also, while he is older than other DSL arms, Molina has touched 96 mph already.
  25. On a day with some less-than-ideal news, I’m happy to share something positive. RHP Jaron DeBerry is not injured. The organization has just taken his ramp up a little bit slower this spring, and he expects to be assigned to either A Carolina or A+ Wisconsin in the near future.
