    Glasnow is going to cost more than Burnes next year. He's a very real injury risk and the Brewers would have zero chance to extend him considering he would start at over $25M. No thanks. The Brewers could do much, much better just trading Burnes, plus save the additional money it would cost to pay Glasnow. Trade Burnes for Pepiot, Hurt, lower level prospect.

    Please remember the draft pick is not automatic. The Brewers have to make a qualifing offer which is probably going to be over $21M after next year. Burnes and Woody would turn it down, but would the Brewers want to keep Adames for 21-22 million dollars? Trading Adames seems like the best option even if the return isn't great. I still think Milwaukee could get a pretty nice return for Burnes in the off season. It would have to be to a big money team that can afford to re-sign him, but there are options.

    Dorrian is a name you never hear, but he may be worth a look. Gasser is a lefty for the pen if nothing else. My prediction is Gasser and they bring back Toro (Toro goes down when Rowdy is ready).

    Just say NO to both Melendez and Blackburn. Melendez is a .217 hitter and whiffs at a 30% rate. I don't know where his solid approach is, but he's not worth a spot on the roster. Blackburn is terrible. His last 5 games: 23 IPs/32 hits/16 ERs/12 BBs -11 HBP. He's much closer to a trip to AAA or DFA'd than being worth trading for.

    It would cost the Brewers approx. $9.5M for the remainder of this year. Milwaukee would look to trade him in the off season or be on the hook for probably about $26M next year. That's money that can be better spent trying to extend Woodruff or Adames or going towards a FA next year.

    Jimenez is due almost $17M (w/buyout) next year. He's would be the Brewers second highest paid player. He's not close to worth it.

    I can't see any way they trade Chourio for 1.4 years of Alonso. Plus Alonso will be making near $18M next year.

    Dalbec's biggest problem and the reason he's not playing for the Red Sox is the same reason Hiura isn't with the Brewers, the huge number of strikeouts. Dalbec is over 35% for his career and actually a little worse against lefties than righties.

    Busch is Hiura at 2B with a weak arm and little range. He's a LH hitting 1B/DH. I'd take him as a 1B and use Tellez as the DH. I am not a fan of Owen White. Let Texas send him to the Dodgers and the Dodgers send Sheehan/Ferguson to the Brewers. Hurt and Knack have good potential. For the Royals trade, I can't see the Royals liking anything about the deal because they would have to include a bunch of money to get the Brewers to take on Perez's $44M + contract in 2024/25. They aren't getting much of a return either. Since Busch isn't a 2B, I wouldn't let Urias go for Silseth who has been not much in the big leagues in his two tries. Candelario would be a nice get for next to nothing.

    No way I'd trade a lot for Soler. He has a player option contract for $9M next year and if he continues what he's doing, he will for sure opt out leaving the Brewers with nothing.

    Bass had to know he was bringing a ton of negative publicity to the Jays organization and himself, yet he made the post and later on doubled down on what he said. He has the right to say what he wants, but he has to face the consequences of being an idiot. You don't call a certain group of people, who happen to be different than what you prefer, evil and demonic. Then apologize to those folks and the organization, then later come back and say you stood by the post and didn't think it was hateful. Now add he was terrible this year (4.68 FIP - 1.40 WHIP - 11 BBs in only 20 IPs) and Bass should easily understand why he was DFA'd. I can't see any team wanting the bad publicity that comes with Bass.

    I think your deal would be a huge overpay by Milwaukee. You're correct about Leiter. His stock is dropping quickly. I don't see White as a really good starter based on what he's done so far. He certainly isn't doing that great at AA (4.24 ERA/1.29 WHIP-more than 4 BBs per 9/only 7 K's per 9). If anything Saggese is a litle under valued.

    It looks like clancy is assuming the Brewers are going to just give up on 2023 and beyond. I don't believe the Brewers can take the huge risk of far away propsects for their biggest trade chip in many years and still remain competitive. They are very thin in starting pitching, especially with Ashby out and re-signing Woodruff very questionable. Giving Burnes away and receiving no MLB ready pitching makes this year's team and 2024 considerably worse.

    Frelick's scouting report has his speed at 70 and arm at 50, plenty good enough for CF or RF. Winker is a butcher in the OF. Having him as a 4th OF is playing with fire, especially if Mitchell (I assume you have him as the CF) or Taylor (RF) are dinged up. Anderson plays 3B most of the time with Brosseau playing 1B against lefties. I hope Frelick, Mitchell, Taylor, Yelich are the opening day OFs. Brosseau, Toro, Caratini as the bench along with one of the OFs. Winker the DH.

    Why would the Brewers want to add another prospect OF in Dominguez? Gil is coming off arm surgery and won't be available until July or later, but a decent throwin. I'd like: Peraza/Volpe/Cortes/Beeter/Gil. Brewers get two high quality SS/3B prospects, a good SP replacement for Burnes, a very good prospect in Beeter, and a wild card in Gil who could prove to be valuable when he gets back.

    I am trying to understand your math. Mitchell/Taylor/Frelick are making the minimum (I think it's $711k) which equals $2.13M. Winker is $8.25M and Yelich $22M. That's about $32.5M. The estimates that I have seen for Woody ($11.25)/Burnes ($12)/Adames ($9.25) equal about $32.5M also. On the high side that's $65M. That would leave (assuming $120M is the is correct) $55M for 18 players or about $3.1M per guy. I'm pretty sure Contreras is at the minimum and if Turang/Strzelecki/Cousins make the team (which looks highly probable) they are at the minimum too. I think there would still be room to add a reasonable 3B if one comes available and a little help in the pen.

    So when would Mitchell and Wiemer get to the big leagues if Frelick does well? Next year you wouldn't want to start a rookie in RF because the CF only had a year's experience and Turang might be starting somewhere. The following year you probably have Chuirio in the mix too. I believe they could easily start 2 rookies in the OF becasue they have Taylor as a safety net. If they both fail, there is always outfielders available plus one of the three will still be in AAA.

    I think it's premature to think Contreras DHs on days he's not catching. IF Winker works out, he'll be the primary DH unless a lefty is throwing. CC likes to give his primary catcher days off. I just don't see him wasting a spot on the bench for a third catcher. If Contreras was DHing and needed to catch because of injury, CC could then just pinch hit when the pitcher.'s spot comes up. Everything remains to be seen, but by a baseball miracle, the Crew now has Contreras.

    I think you're right about Heim, the Rangers seem to like him. I wonder about Huff from the Rangers. Younger guy with lots of control. Looks to be a MLB average or slightly above average catcher. Garver is going to be 32 and hit (.207/.298) last year. He is in the final year of his contract and going to make approx. $4.5M.

    I don't see Sanchez in any way. 2020; .147/.253/.618 OPS -- 2021: .204/.307/.730 OPS -- 2022: .205/.282/.659. He made $9M last year. Aren't those numbers very similiar to the reason they dumped Narvaez?

    The same 33 year old James McCann that hit .195/.257/.538, is often injured, and is going to make $24.5M over the next two years? I don't think Milwaukee would have any interest at all.

    Renfroe last year made $7.6M so if they keep the payroll the same, that's what they have to work with. They traded him so they wouldn't have to pay the approx. $11.5M.

    I don't see any way the Brewers can extend Burnes. He's going to be way out of their price range, especially when you look at what of the FAs have been getting this year so far. I think of the two, if they are looking to extend someone, it's Woodruff. He gets maybe 2/3 or less of what Burnes will command. As far as trading Woodruff, I think your trade might be viable if the Brewers were completely tanking, but even then I don't see the value. Mauricio is a big swing, low OBP, low average shortstop. He's played only 3 games at 3rd and was so bad the Mets gave up on the idea. Allan is 18 and no help for years, if ever. Based on what he's done, Butto has a ceiling of #5/long man. Diaz too is just starting his career and really struggled at A level. He is also no help for years, if ever. Vientos is a start, but he would get a look at 3B first.

    It's hard to believe Kyle is a Brewers' fan. He has no clue about small market teams in MLB, especially Milwaukee. He must be confusing the Brewes with the cubs, Dodgers, or Astros. If Turner got the $35M contract, that would mean he and Yelich by themselves would be 45-50% of the Brewers entire payroll. It would make absolutely no sense.
