  1. I’m most excited with their starting pitching, Anderson,Davies,Burnes,Peralta, woody even Tomlin pitching well right now.
  2. Good point. I think the brewers know his stuff is back, and they have a plan for jimmy and we’ll just have to wait to see what that plan is.
  3. 80+ innings looks like it’s taken it’s toll. If he can’t be counted on this leaves pen in a tough spot. I believe our starting staff to be be much stronger than last year so that should help. But let’s be honest no Jeffress or an ineffective Jeffress hard to replace.Barnes,Williams,Houser not gonna do it. Burnes, Guerra or Woodruff might. Kimbrell would.
  4. That is the number I'd be shooting for now if I was his agent. But I also think that might even be a stretch. I'd like to see the Brewers offer him a 1 year, 4 million dollar deal (but only if he is willing to pitch some innings out of the bullpen) and see if that would be the winning bid. An offer like that should at least be competitive. Think 4-6 mil too low, but if you guys are right and we could get Gio for that we should have signed him yesterday. He’s an experienced above average left-handed pitcher that this team can really use in their rotation. Other than Kimbrell, I can’t think of a move that would help this team more. Woody and his 98 mph bullpen FB soften the blow of no Jeffress.
  5. IMHO take closer to 10+ mil. Still hoping we can sign him.
  6. Well there goes the opening day prediction out the window. Just read Brewers only pitching him 1 inning on Monday. Looks like no matter how good he’s throwing the Brewers have a plan in place to protect Jimmy from himself. Extended spring? AAA? Bullpen?
  7. This is how I see the pitching staff nearing half way point of ST. Rotation: Anderson,Burnes,Chacin,Davies,Peralta Pen: Knebel,Hader,Claudio,Albers,Guerra,Woodruff,Williams,Barnes Shuttle: Petricka,Houser,Tomlin,Brown,Perdomo,Webb,Jackson,Wilkerson Just read Nelson only pitching 1 inning on Monday so don’t think he’ll be ready opening day.so he and Jeffress on IR to start the year. Think We should sign Kimbrell to close or Gio for rotation and send peralta to Pen.
  8. Peter Gammons was just on MLB radio and suggested as a possible answer to the potential labor strife > raising min salary first three years to Somewhere between 1-2 mil. Simple solution. Boy am I smart! Ha
  9. I don't want to steer this too far off topic, but I wonder if someone could add this extension (or one similar) to the board: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2246576 I think there is value to being able to demonstrate that you agree with or like someone's post even if you don't have anything to add to it. It’s me, I apologize, it won’t happen again.
  10. As long as he’s healthy I predict he starts opening day.
  11. If healthy, don’t think he will be limited as much as you say. Unless he’s ineffective, which I don’t think he will be.
  12. Keuchel and it's not even close. Paying 15+ million dollars to a guy who projects to around 60 innings and would want to pitch in only one rigid, specific bullpen role is a terrible investment. Disagree good sir. I’ll take 40+ saves from arguably the best closer in the game today. Knebel,Hader and hopefully healthy Jeffress can lock down the 7th & 8th inning. His signing also protects us from an injured or ineffective Jeffress.
  13. If he opens with the big club i think he can throw 200+Innings. Which he was on pace to do before injury. If brewers make the playoffs and have a deep run and jimmy healthy all year he’ll probably throw at least that.
  14. why? I don't care what he does in March. I want him to be pitching in Sept/Oct Because he’s ready to pitch in games. I think brewers agree, but we’ll find out tomorrow. Love to see him build up his pitch count so he can open with the big club.
  15. Hoping brewers let him pitch in real spring training game next week. Enough of the babying. He needs innings against non brewer hitters.
  16. Hoping Stearns can sign Kratz to minor league deal. Be nice to have him available in case of injury. The guy is leader of men, you can tell the players love and respect the guy. But Pina is just elite defensively with a bazooka for an arm so he’s gotta be the back-up. IMHO too valuable to trade right now. 26 man roster might keep Kratz
  17. Kinda hard to believe that "the chips are all in now" when the Brewers payroll is less than the Bucks. The Brewers current payroll is about $121 million while the Bucks current payroll is $126.5 million, the Bucks payroll is expected increase in the upcoming offseason. I think Mark A should still has some chips left that he's not letting people know. Brewers at the present time are no longer a small market team in regards to current revenue. Lasts years playoff revenue & increase in attendance Has moved us to lower mid-market. Mid-market teams can support a payroll of 150 mil+. With another double digit increase in attendance this year plus another possible playoff run not to mention a new tv deal coming....sign kimbrell and Gio to 1 or 2 year deals and lets go win a World Series!
  18. Kimbrell’s innings in line with previous years. This guy is one of the top closers in the history of baseball. If we could get him for a one or two year deal why not, we have the money. Imagine a back end pen of Kimbrell,Hader and Knebel.with hopefully a healthy Jeffress.
  19. I prefer Keuchel, but I believe we can use an above average lefty in our rotation. One of our big 3 young guns to the pen. I believe we have enough room payroll wise for this and trade deadline moves also.
  20. Counsell & Jeffress saying no tests scheduled or needed. Why would they not MRI his shoulder to rule out any structural damage? What’s the downside?
  21. Removal was precautionary: If I were Stearns I’d convince Jeffress to MRI
  22. Reactionary signings can be a scary proposition. I'm all for stacking talent, though. Yes they can but so is the Brewers first 60 games plus schedule! This team needs to be firing on all cylinders opening day
  23. With Jeffress apparent arm injury brewers should look into signing Kimbrell
