  1. No, I’m too impulsive to lead a franchise. But that doesn’t preclude me from making good decisions based on what I see. And I saw a shocking amount of mistakes by Stearns, pretty sure you did too, so I would imagine I’m not the only one that went from enamered to huh, in one seasons time. My patience for ineptitude with this team isn’t what it used to be. Not sure any of us fans back in 82 even thought it possible that we could go the rest of our life without getting back.
  2. Rasmussen line: 3 ip 1 h 1 bb 4 Ks Starting to dominate AA after settling in.
  3. I don’t believe he’s a non- prospect, the guy has been injured virtually all year, mulligan time, imo. He came into this year back on the radar after his best year in 18, sure looked good in ST, then got injured. How is that different than Corey Ray? Other than Ray was more highly regarded, drafted higher and had a better year last year? Because of a potentially historic K rate > Ray ^ 40+%. Personally don’t want another Lewis Brinson lite type player that at best takes 5 years in the big leagues to learn how to hit well enough to offset a ridiculous K rate.
  4. I'm shocked. Shocked I tell you, that you've changed your position again in less than a day. Real question is, what if he goes "all in" but doesn't extend Hiura 8 years? Does he still have to go? Asking for a friend. Not really, just resigned to the fact he’s not leaving anytime soon. Not really sure why he wouldn’t extend Hiura, unless Hiura doesn’t want to. I don’t know, maybe you can come up with a good reason not to extend a 70+ hit tool player?
  5. I’d like to see a new GM, but I realize it’s not happening any time soon. I’m willing to give Stearns a mulligan, but imo, he needs to go all in next year or re-tool, no in between, one or the other.
  6. They are quite the model aren’t they? 60-80 million payroll, ~.500 most years, 90 wins last year. To win the games they do with a 70 payroll is really astounding isn’t it?
  7. You get what you pay for. If the architect is the right man for the job, and if there’s not a re-build undertaken, and the team in 2020 is trying to be the best team possible, why wouldn’t the team spend as much as their budget allows? Because this isn't the Price is Right, and you don't get a prize for coming as close to a number as you can. The fit and need has to be right first and foremost. They last thing I want them to do is go out and spend money just to spend it. That's losing front office baseball strategy every time. So if Stearns has too much $ to spend, he can’t be trusted to spend it wisely? There’s an extremely high probability that a max payroll determined by Attanassio with input from Stearns is set for 2020 soon after this season ends.

  9. Unless Attanasio/Stearns decide to re-build/re-tool, no way payroll goes down. This team will have ~ 19 million extra revenue, so this year’s 127 with everything else being equal could be 146. I don’t think there going to re-tool, so there it is. Nowhere is it required that any sort of extra revenue needs to be earmarked for team payroll. I think assuming that $19 million (speculative) will be added to their payroll number for this year is an enormous assumptive leap. Not sure it’s enormous, but speculative yes.

  12. I have a feeling the Rays won't be letting Bloom go anywhere any time soon. Unless the Rays promote him to president, their not gonna have much choice.
  13. Time to get ruthless time to get Steinbrennerish! TPlush did better than I could explaining the ridiculous amount of mistakes that Stearns made this year. Close doesn’t get the cigar.
  14. Ya but you know what, 50 years is the 2%. It’s time to get ruthless, it’s time to get angry. The fans of MKE have done their job, packing stadiums for decades, over performing their market size to the highest extent, for DECADES. I’ve heard on this site no one DESERVES anything > we the fans of this team deserve EVERYTHING being done to win a World Series and that’s just the facts of the matter.
  15. Again, you were praising Stearns as a genius back in February, and when I brought this up yesterday, you said you didn't want Stearns fired. After thinking about it, I want the most forward thinking, innovative, non- risk averse leader > this guy is it. The Rays, imo, are incredible in what they do, to annually compete on a 70-80 million payroll is really astounding, but’s it’s the way they do business, re-tool in half year cycles, selling high on players no matter the circumstances, the constant adding of young talent to the farm. Astute free agent signings(Charlie Morton). I know nobody’s perfect, but imo, Stearns has made fundamental mistakes that to me, has led me to want this change. We can’t change ownership, so we need a leader that can win it all with a payroll max at ~ 150 million at some point in the near future, and because he’s already proven to be one of if not the most forward thinking leader in baseball, he’s the man I want for this job.
  16. Fire Stearns and hire Chaim Bloom, senior vice President of the Tampa Bay rays. Fresh perspective from another brainiac. Already proved he could win 90 games with a 70 million payroll, I want to see what he can do with 140 million.
  17. One of the best posts I’ve seen, nailed it. 92 brewers were easily my favorite team of all time for the exact reason you gave. Definitely not the most talented offensively, but it didn’t matter, they were the best I’ve ever seen at moving runners over, stealing bases, the hit and run, going the other way, bunting, clutch hitting and most important team play. The polar opposite of the 19 crew. I don’t expect any team in this day and age to play the game like that team did, but the point of the matter is a team has to be able to manufacture runs. The Braves and dodgers do, look at their records. For whatever reason, Stearns has built a team devoid of this art. Imo, it’s organizational, not focused on, not “taught”, in the brewers minor league system. I believe the analytics show the opposite of what I’m preaching, and this is where the team can imo, improve the most offensively by this type of attack. More Trent Grisham’s. I believe Dayton Moore has already started this by stressing speed and contact over power. It’s less volatile. A more consistent way to score runs. The dodgers just happen to have both, power and great situational hitting, which definitely makes them the team to beat in the NL.
  18. Two veteran rentals and two soon to be out of option arms is not playing for the future. A new SS and a couple of quality pen arms and this division was ours for the taking. But also because this division stinks.
  19. I'm beginning to think that it isn't out of the realm of possibility that no one was buying what the Brewers would have been selling. Moose and Grandal haven't exactly been tearing the cover off the ball in the second half. Who else were they going to deal? I think that's a possibility too. I still just don't understand the point behind anything we did. The future?!?
  20. Cardinals not that good, bad hitting team, ok pitching, nothing special. Cubbies should win, but that team underperforms like no other. If Woodruff was back like originally forecast, Labor Day, they could of had a good September, but now they say middle of September, takes all the wind out of the sails for me now. Reds might run out of games before they catch the Cubbies, but they are the best team in the central.
  21. Look out for the reds. Only team in the division with 3 #1’s, a plus run differential, and a hot streak awaiting.
  22. Cardinals announcers blasting Braun for his outfield play. Annoying as all heck, but true in this instance. The season on the line and he dogs it, unforgivable. If I’m Counsell, that’s the last time he’s in LF this year. 1B vs lefties or pinch hit. Grisham should be playing every game from here on out anyhow including all LHP.
  23. So true. Counsell has been managing like he’s shell-shocked all year. Hundreds and hundreds of bad decisions.
