  1. I still think it's a possibility if that's the way the Brewers want to proceed. And if that's the way the Brewers want to proceed, we'll start seeing him in shorter outings. I say that because his struggles pretty much started after the Brewers pushed him to 75 pitches. If the Brewers' intent is to keep him on track as a starter, we won't see him in Milwaukee. I believe the way they are pitching him, later in games, for 1-2 inning stints out of the pen, that they are leaving open the possibility of a call-up before September, of course, depending on if he is able to show the brewers what they want to see out of him over these next two months.
  2. Agree. If Houser pitches as well in the rotation, as he has in the pen, it eliminates the overwhelming need to trade for a quality starter, and decimate our farm system. This is big. I also think Wilkerson is a possibility at some point to start. With his command of his mix of pitches, I believe, if given a real shot, he can pitch deep into games, like he did in AAA. The pen is potentially weakened without Houser, but let’s see what Nelson, Wilkerson and Peralta do, and how they decide to deploy the 3. I’m fascinated to see.
  3. I'm curious, have you ever gotten a chance to watch either play? Or are you just watching their box scores and evaluating them? Yes, i’ve watched them play baseball. And I stand by my comparison.
  4. I’m sure there’ll be reinforcements, but still, hoping it hurts them.
  5. Gosh, your sucha bully. What a witty response. I’ll give you the last word, so you know, you can feel like you owned me, again.
  6. Woodruff and Davies comment is silly. Both at worst would be #3’s and 4’s and at best #1’s and 2’s. You know what's heavy on irony? You calling someone esle's posts silly. Yeah yeah, still doesn’t change the silliness of yours.
  7. Two things: 1.) I remember reading in, i think it was McCalvy’s column back in April or May, the difference between DJ and Hook, DJ better at pitch sequencing and Hook better at mechanics. Woodruff’s improvements with his mechanics, FB up a tick or two, better change-up. Guerra has a plus curve he didn’t have last year. Houser big improvement. I think it’s fair to attribute some of that to Hooks teaching. 2.) The Brewers pitching is good enough to get into the playoffs as is through osmosis, but Stearns will improve it to be able to compete with the big boy.

  9. That's hyperbole. I imagine Stearns is exploring every angle and possibility. Just because he doesn't get the players we want doesn't mean he's not trying. There's always reasons trades do or don't happen, and most of the time we don't hear the why. Patience is a virtue. He who hesitates loses. It could be either one. We’ll see what Stearns ends up doing over the next 6 weeks, to improve the team. He certainly has the patience. I’m sure he’s got numerous scenarios to contemplate. A lot of the possibilities probably are expensive prospect wise and those are just deals he’s not gonna do unless he’s exhausted all current avenues. The EE trade to the Yankees, is disappointing because of the fact it’s mainly a money issue, imo, but it’s just a guess and I could be proven wrong by moves forthcoming. But don’t discount having EE for 56% of the season as opposed to 33%. Yelich-EE-Moose, that’s a tough middle of the order to pitch to.
  10. They need to put him in the bullpen ASAP. With the dramatic loss of velo/command at 50-60 pitches he can’t continue as a starter right now. Bullpen is a different story, his stuff will play up, FB to 94 or 95, and his slider and curve are already K pitches.
  11. Instead of having him help another teams bullpen, I’d like him to help ours.
  12. Agree. But they can’t keep starting him if he keeps losing it after 50 pitches. Then AAA he goes. They can’t option him, I do believe.
  13. Agree. But they can’t keep starting him if he keeps losing it after 50 pitches.
  14. I’d like to see Wilkerson given a chance to start, with Houser, Nelson in the pen, Burnes and Peralta in AAA stretched and mixing pitches. Barnes down, Smith up. So: Rotation: Woody Davies Anderson Chacín Wilkerson Bullpen: Nelson Smith Houser Claudio Albers Guerra Jeffress Hader I don’t like Claudio either, but I don’t think Stearns is gonna option him to AAA. But if he would then replace him with Perdomo.
  15. Plan for Nelson: Bullpen Imo, stamina’s the main issue, first 40-50 pitches > 92-93 decent command. 50-60 pitches > 90-91 wild Bullpen needs another 2-3 inning pitcher, I think he’d be a real weapon.
  16. Good: Jeffress Houser Davies Guerra Anderson You only missed half the good.
  17. You, since your post was made as fact, not opinion, a typical ploy of yours... It’s obviously an opinion to everyone including you, so stop with the annoying stalking posts, it’s past time.
  18. This should be the first of multiple deals Stearns needs to do before the deadline. EE would fill our biggest need, an elite righty bat that can crush good pitching. And we can get him for zero or little prospect capital. Have you spoken to the Seattle GM or something? Spouting opinions as facts doesn't really sit well here. Which one of us are you referring to? Since we both said pretty much the same thing.
  19. Such a weird statement. Jimmy is working hard in his bullpen sessions to improve each and every time. He's going to be innings-limited this year. I want Jimmy strong in Sept, and don't care about him this time of year. I'm a golfer, and by your logic a player can't work on their issues on the range, but rather only by playing. I don’t think it’s gonna matter much anyhow, he has no stamina, 50-60 pitches and velo down a couple ticks. I think we’ll see him in the pen soon.
  20. Just a matter of time before before Jimmy pitching out of the pen.
