  1. Honestly, I do not believe that missing the playoffs means we lost the CC deal. Think about it, from a fan's perspective this is great news for the state of the franchise. Our owner isn't a Selig, Prieb, or Selig-Prieb anymore. We don't "sell" our players at the deadline, we buy. That was a great deal because CC has been a horse and without him, we wouldn't even be close to contention for the wild card. I think that this move shows that Attanasio doesn't just give lip service to "we want to contend every year"...he actually shows us by acquiring last year's Cy Young winner.
  2. Dale better enjoy his 12 game experience of managing a major league baseball team. The only question is, who will take over next year? A tough guy, I so hope!
  3. SoCal, I could've told you that before the game. lol
  4. Un-real. This is the type of stuff that happens when your season is going down the drain.
  5. But if Prince is gone, who plays 1B next year? Please don't say Brad Nelson. Or Matt Gamel.
  6. The day after the season ends, we'll hear from Braun that his rib injury never really healed and every swing in every game was a battle for him. You won't hear that now but mark my words, something isn't right. And not too long from now, the truth shall be heard.
  7. This is a tough time to be a Brewers fan, no doubt. Not only is the 4-14 month disheartening, but the thoughts I have for the future of this team are even more depressing. If we thought this slide was bad, think about the prospects of losing the 1-2 punch in our starting rotation next year. However, as painful as it is, I will continue to watch the games until we are eliminated from the playoffs (if it comes to that). Am I at all optimistic about us making the playoffs? No.
  8. Yeah, the Twins can lose both Hunter and Santana and seemingly not lose a beat.
  9. It might not make us better but at least we won't be blowing $10 mil+ on a guy we can't count on at the top of our rotation. Some people are just enthralled with Sheets merely because he was drafted by the Brewers. After this season, he's some other team's problem.
  10. See ya in the offseason! Look up the words "injury prone" in the dictionary and there's a picture of Sheets biting his nails.
  11. Not shocking. Prince gets to second with no outs and is stranded. Groundout, K, and K from Hardy, Hart, and Counsell. Not good baseball in the middle of the order.
  12. 6 ER in 5.1 innings last time out against the Cubs for Sheets. Wasn't pretty. If he throws BP like he did in Philly, we're getting swept yet again in this series.
  13. This loss is tougher to swallow than a 10-1 defeat. The fact it's close and we go down looking makes this one hurt. What do they say? A loss is a loss. I don't care how pretty or ugly it is...still counts the same in the bad column.
  14. Biggest weakness on this team -- third base. No matter who we play there, they're all well below average.
  15. Soriano owns CC. Plain and simple.
  16. The strike zone has been horrible. Doesn't help an already struggling team hit any better that's for sure.
  17. Yeah they had Marmol warmed. If Weeks was called to pinch hit, I'd assume they'd signal in Marmol.
  18. Team have been bringing in the lefty to face Durham a lot lately. Would you counter with Rickie Weeks here?
  19. Who said they despised Reed Johnson? Add me to that club. Free agent scrap heap pickup.
  20. Braun couldn't move the runner over. Talk about another lost player right now at the plate.
  21. Jeff Bennett with ATL is coming back to haunt us. Just gave up a run to Philadelphia and they're down 1 now.
  22. Dempster has that nice fastball that starts away from right handed batters and then sort of fades back in to grab the outside of home plate. It's a great pitch.
  23. Too bad they're not playing at Miller Park. He would've been welcomed back to the dugout with one big BOOOOOO!!!
