  1. Two outs, two men on, down by four at the bottom of the tenth, "Top of the order, here comes Kendall!" is not what you want to hear
  2. It was bang-bang, I think he thought he'd get the runner at the plate I agree that he should've let it go
  3. Where it likely would've dribbled down the line and scored more than one. Tough situation, though, I agree. A run would've scored either way.
  4. Yeah, this has been a disheartening couple of days, in a way that back-to-back losses normally aren't, even in a skid like this. These guys are just limping in.
  5. Not much he could have done with that one. It may have or may not have went foul it was a judgement call there. Even if Hall picks that up I don't think he throws out Martin at 1st.Yeah, and people would have gotten on him for that if he'd let it go--he's kind of in a no-win situation right now with the fans (that he put himself in) Still, with slow-motion and three different angles, itt's obvious he should've let it go! Hey, great job Villy!
  6. Huge Billy Hall fan, but he looks cooked Just what is he good for these days
  7. Gruesome performances by the pen lately They're ready for that break with the SP running them ragged
  8. Way to waste some dramatic performances by our young guys two days in a row Well, let's keep it tied
  9. YES!!!! Now THAT was Gamel's Prince/Weeks-against-the-Twins moment! FREE MAT GAMEL!!!
  10. Argh, brutal. Well, new game at least. Come on pen--let's turn back the clock on Turn Back the Clock night to, say, May
  11. Yes, there we go Cat! M-m-m-m-MOTA'S IN!!!! Baseballs are in flight! They're driving deep to right!!! We'll WIN the game....tonight....
  12. Mota sighting! Hopefully the treat him more like they usually do, say, JDLR and less like they do Coco Cordero
  13. Frustrating to get two leads on Billingsley and watch them both evaporate Those were crushed, too.
  14. Werth is somewhat deserving, sure, but besides Upton and Dunn and Kemp, I think Sandoval and Reynolds both deserved to be there more than Werth--that Werth is one of Manuel's players definitely raises some eyebrows, esp. considering they already had four guys going. It's a valid complaint/conversation. They all deserved to be there more than Victorino in my opinion.
  15. I assume this is a national PSA, but one they play out here is one encouraging parents to encourage learning with a woman singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," to her young daughter with lyrics like"...you're a ball of gas that's very far, 34 light years in the sky, ten parsecs which is really high! " Absolutely grating. There's also a series of spots for AM-PM stores with this smarmy guy who we're supposed to think is cool telling stupid stories about AM-PM, but all I want to do is punch him in the face. I listen to sports talk radio all day at work, so I hear more than my fair share of annoying spots.
  16. Not particularly indicative of anything, but TGJ broke up Lincecum's no-hitter in the late innings out here last night (like his Dad did three times in his career, apprently). They ended up losing all the same, but it reminded me of his winning sac fly on Opening Day last year and his hit against Trevor on the last game of '07. I don't know if I'd necessarily call him "clutch" but he does have a knack for popping up in weird little moments like that--hopefully Gerut can do the same at some point this season.
  17. Well, it's ugly, but I'm not sure what it indicates--they've played some tough teams and dealt with some injury/hardship. They've got a (knock on wood) pretty easy stretch ahead in relation and I think they'll be around until September, when they have all those head-to-heads against division and wild card contenders.
  18. Plus a loss like this really dampens my burgeoning Halladay-fever, for a variety of reasons. Only way this could be worse is if there's some scene with the press in the clubhouse afterwards--and these days it seems entirely a possibility.
  19. Well, between the way they lost--handcuffed offense and late bullpen implosion wastes a terrific deep start and leads to a dusting--the two game swing in the standings, and frankly, who they lost to, this was pretty much the worst loss of the season for me. Plus I was pretty useless at work while it was going on. Did I mention I hate day games?
  20. Yeah, but hey! Rivera-PH (Gerut?)-Counsell coming up to save the day in the 9th!
  21. Well, this is disheartening. Wow. What a gut-stab, right before the Dodgers come in and the All-Star Break.
  22. Disappointing outing by CV, sure, but if the Brewers lose, CV won't have done it "single-handedly."
