  1. Yep, this one three game series answered any and all questions.
  2. Yeah, goodbye and good riddance to that old piece o' tupperware What a weird, awful series.
  3. I kinda hate useless late inning runs (Please prove me wrong Crew...)
  4. Well, this is the last scheduled Sunday Night game this season for us, and thank the maker--these always seem disastrous.
  5. I'm getting angrier the more I think about the ump capitulating to Gardenhire and Macha capitulating to the ump Ridiculous--talk about changing the scope of the game
  6. I can't remember the last series the Brewers have gotten beat up this badly--even the Fenway weekend last year didn't seem this ugly.
  7. Yeah, that was fantastic, thanks.
  8. Yeah, I watched the whole thing (nothing to post here, really...I wasn't surprised a lot of the thread ended up being a dogpile on Parra--get him out of the rotation? Come on.) and Gamel was the highlight for certain. I gotta say I enjoyed watching Cuddyer leg out that triple, too. Anyway, a loss is a loss is a loss, but if I had to, I'd take a dozen like this--down big and down early on the road to a team I don't have strong negative feelings about--to one like Soriano and the Cubs beating us at home in the 9th by one run on a crushing homer.
  9. I don't see a full-on platoon happening any time son, but I can imagine Gerut getting a few more starts than Duffy, who never seemed to get those spots like Gross and Kapler did--I'm guessing mostly based on his work at the plate (he seemed to play the field well, but Cam isn't the kinda guy who gets replaced defensively). I, of course, could well be wrong on all accounts. Anyway, I think it's interesting how this seems to be played in the national press mostly as "Padres deal for Tony Gwynn Jr"...seems to me this is much more about the Brewers trying to pick up Gerut, or at the least, the Pads dumping a little salary. Hard to resist the human-interest aspect of the story, I guess.
  10. I saw him play there (for the Brewers of course) in May '07, and they gave him a sustained applause during the intros and his first AB even thn Should be interesting to see how long this honeymoon lasts, although they're not particularly known for being a tough crowd down that way
  11. Yeah, I was upset that I missed his plate appearance, but I'm glad I saw him score Biggest moment for him in a long while.
  12. Man, do those drunk Brewers' fans realize they should take the rally caps off now?
  13. Hehe, yeah me too. She's something else back there. ANYWAY, 1 run leads at Enron Field make me very nervous...
  14. Nice AB by JJ working his way back there Let's chomp into this pen now fellas
  15. No dignity in a dogpile...just like the Houston fans booing innings later, I get the feeling we're gonna be hearing people complain about Hall's schneid for a while even though he's now out of the game. Anyway, weird, weird game tonight. And I kinda dig Big Seth's hairy new Paul Bunyan look.
  16. Gahhh, Hall and Soup less than clutch at the plate the last two innings Brutal
  17. I don't know how never-ending that spigot of talent is, esp. when money that'd be used to extend their stay here would be tied up with Peavy.
  18. Here's a link. He's a piece of work, although I can't say I entirely blame him.
  19. Seems like TGJ has been low-level trade-bait forever (I rememebr people being surprised he wasn't part of the Linebrink deal)...I wonder who takes on that role in the Brewers' organization now?
  20. I think knocking the Padres out of a certain playoff spot will probably be his Milwaukee legacy, but for what it's worth, I'll remember him positively for hitting that sac fly to score Counsell in the 10th last year on Opening Day at Wrigley after the Gagne implosion. Hey, it's the little things! (And how over the moon must TGS be?)
  21. Well, Gerut over Duffy and/or Catalanotto aside (and I'll take it), it does seem like destiny has finally been fulfilled with TGJ in a Padres uniform. I wonder how Prince is gonna deal. Let's hope TGJ doesn't repay Padres fans and relive his Hoffman dagger a la '07 this August.
  22. Seems an odd deal for the Padres
