  1. The Prisoner's Dilemma has nothing on this one. You can't even root for an asteroid to hit the stadium...it's our park!
  2. Trying to let them know it's not acceptable play, duh! This team with one of the best Brewers records ever is no better than a AAA team. I paid my money, I'm owed a win and perfect play!
  3. If I still lived in Chicago or Wisconsin, I'd go to MP with a megaphone and boo the both of them!
  4. The frustrating thing is the Astros, Cubs and, it appears possibly the Cardinals aren't playing either.
  5. They'll destroy the Cleveland-Los Angeles numbers
  6. Where are you hearing/seeing this? Brewers fans can't even come out and root for either one!
  7. Are you kidding me? If I'm the Astros I put in a call to the MLB office. What a farce.
  8. You know, I've never actually SEEN the "Tighten Up" before today (looks like you have to be pretty loose to me), so something good came out of this thread. Of course, the Drells are from Houston, Texas, so they probably wish to encourage furthering Brewer tightening-up. NOW MAKE IT MELLOW!
  9. 1. Some people actually did agree with you that they were worth worrying about, so please stop painting yourself as some martyr lone genius, and 2. The season isn't over yet so save your crowing. No one's "right" yet, and at any rate, if the Brewers choke this away it'll have as much if not more to do with the Brewers as the Astros.
  10. I'd be happy with just one win this weekend. If we need the split and don't get a win tonight, we're looking at a slippery slope. Hopefully Hamels gets left in for one batter too many like the last time we saw him.
  11. We've got a regular Nostradamus here, folks. Everybody rub his feet and bring him our finest meats and cheeses.
  12. I love people who use loud non-verbal noise to express their displeasure at something calling other people "babies."
  13. I guess it's that these guys are all teammates, and just because Corey doesn't get rode as often (and I've heard him get booed) doesn't mean he doesn't mind hearing his brothers-in-arms get it bad, or that the booing doesn't permeate the entire team's spirit.
  14. I thought this thread might have some numbers ot make me feel better, but all I'm seeing are people as nervous and upset as I am! Jokes aside, the time for numbers-crunching is over at any rate. This team needs to crave its own destiny. Like Rock told BA last night when he lamented that the scoreboard wasn't the Brewers' friend last night, it shouldn't matter one whit. Win. It's simple.
  15. They booed during Opening Day introductions. Mind-boggling.
  16. Here's the problem: At Miller Park this season, the fans have booed and booed loudly when he has entered the game. That's silly at best.
  17. This is the fourth player in about a year and a half to mention this in the press by my count (Fielder, Turnbow, Linebrink, Hart...although I seem to recall another). Either this team has an inordinate amount of "whiners," as some here believe, or MP does indeed have a "booing problem" as some others believe (and apparently the players). Linebrink was no spring chicken and had played elsewhere, so I'm not sure it's just the young guys.
  18. I'm pissed off, too, I just don't think it's helpful or necessary to drunken scream my lungs out to let the team know, especially since they've been one of the better Brewer teams of all-time. No, it's not perfect, but I think the team knows that well and wants to do better without their home fans jumping all over them. I get the feeling some people wouldn't be happy if they went 161-1.
  19. This, of course, is this team's fault.
  20. No, I didn't, I just think personal cracks about his intelligence were unnecessary. I think booing is a stupid thing to do, that doesn't mean everyone who does it is a complete moron (although, in the spirit of your comment, I don't think booing reflects well that they're not).
  21. Having lived in San Francisco the last couple years and in Tampa Bay previously (and being a Brewers' fan, of course), I've seen a lot of awful teams, both at the respective parks and on TV, but I've never heard the level of booing I've heard at MP this year, and talk about franchises that have put out some 90+ loss teams begging for a booing. I watch a lot of other games on Extra Innings and I don't hear it as much anywhere else, either. (That said, I haven't watched a ton of Philly games, and I know they have a rep) I also believe there's a bigger drinking culture at the games in Milwaukee than in SF or Florida. Sorry, but that's just my experience. (Similarly, I've seen Cubs fans just turn on their teams during some of the worse recent years, but those were losing teams) I guess this is just what happens when bandwagon fans, longtime frustration, and barrels of beer combine.
  22. This is unnecessary. Anyway, here is the post itself, it delineates more of the quotes (in which he says he can understand fans' frustration) and also has some standard-issue TH biting remarks (pretty entertaining whether you agree with him or not).
  23. Way to put words in my mouth. I never said that it was justified, or that they should boo. The fact that they're letting it affect them to the point where they complain to the media about it is what bothers me. How can you block out the pressure of a pennant race when you can't block out a few boos?Well, for one, there are more than a few boos, and two, yeah, they're young and probably not the toughest mentally yet and it probably does have them confused and upset and pressing when they're getting booed by the home crowd after they turn in the best record in a decade and a half, and counting. I also don't think he's saying it's the sole problem, so a lot of people are putting words in Corey's mouth. I don't have an issue with his opinion whatsoever, and although I agree that I wish he hadn't said them, I don't think it's the worst thing ever that he blew off some steam in the press.
  24. Unfortunately, as you alluded, it's likely to be the opposite response. They'll be back in Milwaukee for six crucial games in a dogfight for a playoff spot, and I guarantee there'll be at least a smattering of boos for Corey during his intro/first AB if not an outright cascade: "What? You don't like Milwaukee? You don't like us? Well, boooooooooooooo!"
  25. Why? You think they should enjoy getting booed by their home fans when they're better than any Brewers team in 16 years?
