  1. Sure this all makes actual sense, but this move is so car-ayz-ay it just might work! In all seriousness, who knows, but this is just bizarre and flailing the more I think about it.
  2. Jeez, this is turning into a soap opera. Set in a circus.

  4. I am absolutely shocked. If they missed the playoffs he was gone anyway, and they needed a spark so I guess now is as good as ever.
  5. Well, it's kind of why I asked what else is up there
  6. I mean, I'm thanking them right now, and I definitely would have if he'd gotten a one-hitter, but the first no-hitter in Miller park history will forever be in the books with "Carlos Zambrano-Chicago Cubs" next to it. That's a foul-tasting pill. I was 7 years old when they lost the Series, and I cried, but this is a different kind of bitter. That Brew Crew took it to the limit, at the least.
  7. I think it depends on whether the team gets it together and somehow still makes the playoffs despite the odds, but I'd have to think that getting lifelessly swept in a 4 game series to lose your wild card lead while the biggest jerk on the team's biggest rival throws a no-hitter in our own park has to be up there. What else is up there?
  8. They call this "insult to injury." What a horrible, horrible night.
  9. I wish I could say I can't believe it but unfortunately, I can
  10. Maybe we can hope for the Patrick Ewing Theory coming into play (now known as the Tiki Barber Theory): CC and Big Ben leave after years of disappointment and things seem more dire than ever, but then the Brewers somehow make the playoffs
  11. Send them back down before they get poisoned by the atmosphere of gutlessness that surrounds this team

  14. Since I couldn't get a TV feed of tonight's game I tried to stay away and just watch football but I decided to check out the score and I see our Gutless Wonders are getting no-hit by Brett "Wife Beater" Myers and the Soup is lukewarm fishbone tonight. Brewers: Boom....you're outta here.
  15. Jeez, it feels like "Ryan Braun" isn't even on this team any more. OK, OK, gotta pull myself away from this car wreck.
  16. I agree. I apologize for doing my part for turning this into Vent Thread II. Anyway, I can't even get this on TV today so I just don't think I'm gonna waste any more time watching this on MLB Gameday when it's a pleasant Saturday afternoon. Hopefully I get an even-more pleasant surprise when I come home and see the final score.
  17. Bets on how many innings Shouse pitches today?
  18. I think they miss the playoffs but to call it one of "the greatest collapses in baseball history" is maybe a little much. It's definitely a collapse, but no one's gonna be talking about this outside of Milwaukee years from now.
  19. Sweeps of the Brewers by probable playoff teams: Red Sox, Cubs, Mets and now I wouldn't be shocked if the Phils do it. I suppose you could put Houston on that list, too. (And they've also been garbage against the Dodgers)
  20. This team just gets smacked in the mouth in big series against good teams (yeah, I'm not counting an overachieving Cards team)...they don't deserve to make the playoffs
  21. Interesting that they pick up on his demeanor. He's gotta be one of the more "flappable" managers I know of, constantly pacing, shaking his head in disbelief, openly fretting, etc. I'm only half-joking when I say all that coffee can't be helping.
  22. Some brainiac in the comments' section of TH's blog (and don't ask me why I subjected myself to it) was asked how he'd like it if his boss was standing over him at work and vociferously booing every time he made an error or failed to make a sale, etc. The guy's response? "If I failed in my job 75% of the time, I'd be fired from my job!!!" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif Yeah, the initial analogy was a bit strained in and of itself, but holy smokes...the mindset of an adamant boo-er.
  23. I've been wondering if this will be on Extra Innings or if it's blacked-out because of the ESPN Sunday Night. I hope not, because if so, between that and the local Fox affiliate here showing the Mets-Braves instead for some Godforsaken reason tomorrow afternoon, I'll only get to see 2 of 4 of games in one of the bigger series of this year, grrrr. (Although that may be for the best...)
  24. Haudricort and Witrado are busy covering a Brewers game...wait a second. By the way, McCalvey (the story appearing on Astros official site) is pretty much a Brewers source. I wasn't questioning the validity of the info or the sources, I just thought it was funny that it didn't stay under wraps for too long. Goes to show how much the Cubs' fans think of the "threat" from the Brew Crew that it took forever for anyone at NSBB to pick up on the thread here! It's gotta be like Christmas for those guys. Speaking of which, if anything I wonder if there wouldn't mostly be chat about the fix being in for the Cubs...you guys do know this is the hundred year anniversary of their last World Series win, right?
  25. These "Brewers sources" are awfully busy this evening. Hope they never get a national security job
