  1. Neither one is happening but it is fun to speculate.
  2. Matt Olson makes our lineup deep. Tellez can DH. Urias most of the time at 3B. Hiura has a reawakening.
  3. How many of you believe that the free agent frenzy of the pre lockout was overdone? There may be some bargains coming when things open up again. Schwarber might be a reach but Rizzo, Soler, Seager, Conforto etc. will have a much lower price tag. Add in the DH and its easier to see room for AB's for another power hitter.
  4. So the Astros sign Justin Verlander on the same day the Brewers sign Jonathan Davis, Trevor Kelley and Jason Alexander. Which signings will have more impact?
  5. But unless it is about money why not keep Jace and Brousseau? Lose one of Reyes or Mathias.
  6. We will not sign Taylor. The Dodgers will. He will just use the Brewers to drive the price up a bit.
  7. Didn't Arnold sign a new deal? Seems like MA has figured out that DS is leaving. Might as well trade DS and get something for him.
  8. Also, if the Mets hire Arnold does that make any trade with them more or less likely?
  9. Can someone explain the way you figure surplus value please?
  10. One year late.
  11. Dodgers not worried about money. We might be.
  12. Interesting idea Briggs. Wong should be very dealable if that’s a word. Have to find that third baseman first. Escobar? Gonna be a great off-season.
  13. There is never a zero chance anyone get dealt but Yelich is not leaving. The team needs to get him back to where he was before. It has happened before. Just need the right coach talking.
  14. I’m sure there will be moves. I think we need help in the pen. Traded some good guys and a couple of free agents but DS seems to find help. I think Garcia is gone and maybe JBJ or Cain. Should be an interesting off-season. I know this year ended poorly but have a lot of reasons to be excited for next year.
  15. I am really tired of the Kershaw car commercial. Film another take or something.
  16. I hear what madtown is saying as far as anyone trading one of their regulars. In Groshans you are getting a guys who is ready to make the move to the majors. But he hasn't done that. Same could be said for Moreno though I'm not sure we would trade for a catcher. Orelvis Martinez is a very interesting prospect to me but he is further away from the big leagues. But, and this has been said before, this is how the Rays run their team. Woodruff and Burnes have 3 years of control and are worth a LOT right now. Hate to lose them but the value they bring back would be a lot. Oh to be a GM in the MLB.
  17. Per Baseball Reference Rowdy Tellez has a 162 game average stat line of 501 AB's. 67 Runs. 26 HR's. 75 RBI's .307 OBP. 770 OPS. Not wow numbers but ok. He will get a shot at a steady 1B/DH position next year. The rest of the infield is locked down with Wong, Adames, Urias. Hope Hiura can force his way into the mix. OF is Yelich, Cain, JBJ with Taylor in the mix. Certainly hope some young guys force their way into the picture but unless you trade someone I'm not sure there is room for a free agent signing.
  18. Which injury hurts these teams the most? Devin Williams hand. Brandon Belt's hand. Clayton Kershaw's elbow.
  19. But not tonight.
  20. The problem with facing the Dodgers is the two left handed starters. we have really struggle with lefties lately.
  21. But this is how Tampa Bay is always in the mix. When their players get to this point in their careers/cost they trade them for a bushel of prospects. You could say it works but you could say it doesn't. They have been consistently competitive but have not won it all. Hard for me to argue with either direction but I'm in the trade him camp because of the volatility of relief pitchers. I think Hader's highest off season value was last year but should have a lot of value this year if he stays healthy.
  22. Next year could be Woodruff Burnes Peralta Houser Ashby Small? That’s quite a home grown staff. There are others but that is impressive.
