  1. Where are you guys who watch more on Jose Anderson? The power display is amazing but hitting under .200 with a lot of k's is worrying. He shows high end tool potential and at 19 is still young. What is the biggest problem with his swing/approach?
  2. Do we think this would be more along the lines of hazing or just repeated verbal abuse. I would hope there would be enough adults to stop verbal abuse pretty fast.
  3. I love this deal, it is very Freddy Peralta-esqe. When Rob Z says he is the best AAA bat he has every played with or against that means alot. I look forward to seeing him in the show in a couple weeks.
  4. I feel like he should have a floor similar to what we Sal do the past 2 years. With his speed, defense, and playe discipline I think he should be a solid bet to be a 3 WAR player yearly. If he can hit say .275 he might be a 5 WAR player. I was looking around at past gold glove winners and think Shane Victorino might be a good comp on what I think he will be.
  5. Agree, Patrick can probably go 2-3 innings and Megill is fresh. After that not much.
  6. That is nuts... if the new stadium next year is anything like this he will hit 70 bombs just playing home games.
  7. After watching the game last night it is clear that the series is going to be all offense. I dont get why Vaughn isn't in, maybe Murph wants to build up Sal but Vaughn just had one of the best games of the year.
  8. Buxton and Joe Ryan for Frelick, Pena, O'Rae, Gasser and Crow Obviously this would be in over a month so I am guessing Henderson and Woody would be healthy. It wouldnt help SS or 3B but our rotation would be deep enough to take on the Dodgers. Buxton would really lengthen the lineup and provide some thump. We would probably have to add Pena to get both. Frelick, Crow, and Gasser would give the Twins immediate depth and replacements. We would give up depth but I would think we could trade Ryan next offseason and recoup a bunch of value and get some pitching depth back.
  9. I think it is officially time for Preister to just have the surgery. I dont think there is a world in which he turns it around. Just have the surgery and give him more time to rehab on the other end. Frias needs a promotion, I am sure we are close to some AAA promotions that will have a chain reaction but a Lara/O'Rae/Josh A/???/Frias
  10. Dude was throwing 99-100 when he average 94 early in the year. I am sure a bunch of that was Las Vegas and extra adrenaline facing the team that just let you go but dang. We have just found a Megill style addition if he can throw that hard.
  11. Jonah Heims game tying home run was hit 93.6 mph for 316 ft to right center. That spot in AFF would be about 360-370 ft, so not only does the ball fly but the stadium itself must be a joke. At least we can pad some offense stats. Who is coming up for Drew Rom today?
  12. Despite all the disappointment and angst this has been one of the most amazing games I have watched.
  13. The A's are playing some nice defense. Kuhnel at 98/99 is amazing. I think he averaged 94.3 with the As. Just hit 100.
  14. The A's are playing some nice defense. Kuhnel at 98/99 is amazing. I think he averaged 93/94 with the As.
  15. I feel like he has a couple weeks. Lara has earned a shot with the big league team. Lockridge isn't to far away, Mitchell has been playing a bit better than Sal. LF Chourio CF Lara RF Mitchell/Sal/Lockridge. In that scenerio we also lose Bauers OF playing time so lots up in the air.
  16. It looks like our pitching issues are starting to turn around. Letson, Dorchies. Deberry, and Hardin have looked very good the last couple weeks. It would be nice het Knoth, Meccage, Thompson, and others healthy or on track. I am sure there are some i have missed that fit these categories.
  17. Do you think the Twins would do Frelick, Pena, O'Rae/Black/Adams, Gasser, and Letson/Dorchies/Hardin for Buxton and Joe Ryan I would guess we would have to add the upside of Pena to get both Buxton and Ryan. The Twins get Sal and Gasser for now and 3 prospects. Buxton adds the power we need and Ryan would be a perfect rotation add for the playoffs. We could trade Ryan in the offseason if we need to cut salary or recoup prospects.
  18. We haven't discussed Turang moving to SS in a while. I hope a situation doesn't happen where we would need to move him off of 2nd. However if some combination of Pratt, Made, and Jett dont work out at SS or 3B by the deadline it might make sense to move Turang to SS and acquire a 2B. Gleybar Torres and Luis Arreaz are better trade options than any SS or 3B available. I think it would be probably break glass if necessary option but possible.
  19. Not for them giving us young controllable prospects. I could see them talking to us for Aroldis Chapman but not younger players for a bit.
  20. 1. Jett. He has been inconsistent and doesn't really have a spot longterm. If he still has top 100 value he is #1. 2. Dinges. The bat has seemingly stalled in low A at 22. I think there is still alot of potential but I worry that he still has a long way to climb. 3. Fischer. Strikeouts and defense, I think ultimately he is a 1st baseman. With the strikeouts so high in high A, one cant help but be concerned. I would be hesitant to trade a 30+ HR, I would only trade him for a high end player with multi years of control.
  21. I'll be honest, I forgot about Henderson. He does need to show the ability to stay healthy but has looked like a potential solid 3 at least.
  22. Otto Lopez would be a great add, he probably would have a big price tag. I wouldnt be opposed to getting him if the price was right.
  23. I like the Drohan/Patrick piggyback or maybe Gasser/Patrick situation. I have some faith in one of Woody getting healthy or Sproat getting it together (not both). I do think that we do need to start considering a starter add for the playoffs.
  24. What a great start by Misi, he wasnt at his best but he battled. I specifically loved in the 7th with 1st and 3rd and 1 out he wouldnt let Murph take him out. We're the high amount of cutters a reaction to Coors? Since the breaking balls are usually less effective do we think the cutter was the counter?
  25. Maybe I've missed a game or two but it seems like Dinges hasn't caught for a couple weeks. I know some other people have brought it up. Is there an injury he is still nursing? At 22 it seems like he is due for a promotion but the bat has slowed in May and he is catching very little. Any notes on weather to be concerned or not from some of you who watch more often.
