Ashby pitching like early season Ashby wpuld be a huge boost.

Some of you are going to be right if the Cubs catch us amd some of ypu are going to be right if they dont. If their pickups were better than ours will also be determined shortly. But none of y'all can claim to win you argument in tonight's game thread. No reason to be snarky with each other either way. We all want the same thing. Let everyone know you were right when the results are in.
  3. Opening Day
We're just a few hits away from being good again. I feel good about this game.
  4. Opening Day
Even when he makes the catch Bauers makes me nervous in RF.
  5. Opening Day
Yes, thats all been reported. You said some people want to trade prospects for players and get upset when they don't. And then when they do trade prospects for players they complain, insinuating the were hypocrites or at least just looking to complain. Im saying when those general term "players" are exchanged for two different names the scenarios become two differwnt scenarios. And not that its relevant to this discussion, I wouldnt have given up Made or Harrison either.
  6. Opening Day
Well neither does beating the Twins, lets just pack up and go home then.
  7. Opening Day
There needs to be context here instead of blanket statements. For example, I didnt like what they gave up for May, but I would have given them up for Skubal. So Ill put myself under the umbrella of you comment, but in my mind, for a logical reason. (Not that I know anything)
  8. Opening Day
Drohan was off all night. In the 2nd (41 pitches hrough 2), they should have planned on someone new in the 5th. Then had Wilson warmed up but didn't trust him for the the 6th. Im a Murphy fan, but this wasn't his best night managing pitchers. It happens. They lost a game starting their 5th starter. It is what it is. They will be fine. Go out and take the next 2 and win the series.
  9. Opening Day
Payne and Pena are playing a level below, and everything I've read about Adamczewski says he doesn't have a defensive home yet. So, while I agree that might not be the main issue, right now, he seemingly was the next prospect in line for an OF roster spot on the big club, even if that wasn't this year.
  10. Opening Day
Id rather face the Dodgers in a 5 game series than a 7 game series. Miz starts 40% of the games in a 5 game series and 28% in a 7 game series for one. The less games the better chance for an upset.
  11. Opening Day
"First, Ragsdale and Frias were both breakout prospects who remained beneath other outfielders on the organizational depth chart." Can you list the OFs in the system between Ragsdale and MLB?
  12. Opening Day
I refuse to answer on the grounds that I may Incriminate myself by sounding like I think highly of any Cubs, especially PCA.
  13. Opening Day
I missed most of Miz's start on 7/26 (traveling). But I don't recall watching 8 straight K's before. It gives me hope Miz-Harrison-Henderson can carry them in the postseason. Never been inpressed with Hall. I keep wanting him to be better and he keeps letting me down.
  14. Opening Day
Agreed. I usually just follow the minors through reports (mostly on here, thanks to those that do it) and highlights on MLB network. But I been watching some games this summer, mostly Biloxi. He looks the part and really does it all. Outside of Made, he was the guy I was most excited to see progress. And the last place I want to see him do well is St Louis. Im going to keep an open mind and see how May does, but it still doesn't sit well with me.
  15. Opening Day
Im glad Bauers didnt get an at-bat there because he clearly should be hitting behind Yelich and Contreras everyday.
  16. Opening Day
Chourio walking and Vaughn coming through against the righty isn't as usual as Id like it to be. But Ill take it.
  17. Opening Day
Contreras moves for no reason to give up the run and Turang jogs to cover first. Terrible.
  18. Opening Day
I dont have a problem with either the TV or radio guys generally. I dont like Dillard doing games at all but hes fine on the postgame show. That said. Sproat is clearly starting to fall apart, we've all seen it before. He gets behind in the count and throws a fastball right down the middle. BA is amazed by it and saying he has "ace stuff". It was a little ridiculous, not only because it was a poorly placed pitch, but also because I think we could all see what was coming.
  19. Opening Day
He doesn't seem to have the mentality. Right after giving up the soft hit, I said hes going to walk the next guy, and he did. Also, if you're unlikely to get a hit, dont challenge the first pitch, Hamilton.
  20. Opening Day
Annoyed they gave up Ragsdale, happy this is the last Sproat start of the season.
  21. Opening Day
If we have 10 Lambos and need to give some away, we should have been able to get Skubal.
  22. Opening Day
2 years in a row with an era+ below 100. I dont want him starting game 2. If thats the plan I like this trade even less.
  23. Opening Day
And there are 3 OF spots. And Frelick, Blake Perkins, Lockridge, and Matos all got playing time out there this year. And this is the first time Mitchell has ever stayed healthy.
  24. Opening Day
Hate this trade. Im down to trade prospects for difference makers. For a below average starter and an average middle releiver, Id rather keep Ragsdale. If I wouldnt be excited to give a starter the ball in October, Id rather keep prospects. Im not excited to give the ball to May in October.
  25. Opening Day
Heres what Id say to anyone on the roster that might be upset with the front office Contreras - run out a gorund ball and Ill listen to your concerns Vaughn - if you want the team to improve hit righties better, be thankful we turned your career around Bauers - you're having a great year, but we resurrected your whole career, just be grateful Turang - ill listen Pratt - we gave you big money unproven and you haven't been up long enough to be upset 3b platoon - hit better DH - youre the biggest reason we dont have salary flexibility besides market size Mitchell - just worry about staying healthy Chourio - stop watching strikes and swinging at balls Frelick - there's the weightroom, use it, and then get back to me Lara - See Pratt And if a pitcher is sad someone didn't come take their job then I want someone more competitive Luckily, none of these guys are complaining, its just fans upset at failed trades projecting their feelings on to others.
