I just don't get how guys like Anderson and Chi Chi Gonzalez keep getting chances from multiple organizations year after year when they keep proving they can't pitch any longer.
He was getting trashed in June and July when his FIP was under 4 which is ok and right where it was last year. He's been horrible with inherited runners throughout his career so he never should be brought in that situation. Unfortunately CC hasn't figured that out still.
I never quite got all the Suter bashing earlier this year but I doubt he's really tradeable. For anything of value anyway. A pretty strong non-tender candidate to me.
I too thought that one was in the bag. With the bullpen, stupid me. Another starter pulled pretty early I see. Glad CC is keeping all of our starters, except Burnes, fresh for the playoffs.
I'm not going to say it's exactly a useful stat, but Box is one of the worst in the league in allowing inherited runners to score. Perhaps the combination of those two stats would indicate he might not be the guy you call on in such situations.
Most starters see their pitch counts rise as they build up arm strength. Peralta has basically gone from 90 to 80 to 70. So are we trying to weaken him? Not sure I understand the mentality.
I read Rotoworld (and do so throughout the season) for player news. Outside of that, don't really follow at all. Might catch a game or two, or parts of, when the Brewers televise a ST game.
Never understood the trade on so many levels. Not the least is the guy has a 4.68 ERA and 1.50 WHIP since 2015. Had a 20 inning run in the funky pandemic season, hasn't pitched since yet he still is a guy to trade for? The only thing impressive about Rosenthal is his agent. He's extracted about $35 million for his client since 2015. All for a pitcher who basically put up 0 WAR since that time.
