And somehow this team would still be in the playoffs as of now. Expanded playoffs and NL mediocrity to the rescue. I would still be a hard seller at the deadline.
I'll join the consensus in being completely stunned by the trade. Personally, I have Ruiz valued at about $15 million but I don't have a lot of faith that he will justify even that number. I was always hoping he would get traded as opposed to the other OFers we have in the organization so I'm extremely happy by the move.

As a former 13th round pick who has a career 4.50ish ERA and 1.50ish WHIP in the minors, only marginally better in 2021, and is still in A ball, is not somebody I'm going to lose any sleep over.
