  1. NOT NYY ever, please. I'm also not fond of ATL and HOU. But at least with HOU there's Dusty to cheer for. My #2 was Toronto, but I can pull for Padres and Seattle and Cleveland. Dodgers were my default faves before (and for awhile after) I loved the Montreal Expos, may they be resurrected. Keep this thread running. It's a long time without baseball between the end of the regular season and opening day 2023. And the typical posts on here are at least enjoyable and thoughtful. (And yes, I include Treego's dismal rhyming. ) ??
  2. It's actually kind of sad. And it's a reflection of the win-today-now, immediate- gratification and DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING culture (in and beyond baseball), and especially the delusion that the front office "executives" (typically spoiled trust-fund poop-heads?) know more than they really know. In fact, the front office types usually seem to know as much about the game as the average collection of fans who post on sites like this. That's why my (and others') knee-jerk "Fire CC!" posts should be ignored, if not retracted in a moment of sober logic.
  3. Which is a shock to absolutely no one here. Blechchchcchch.
  4. This is too sad and too true. But I'll miss baseball season -and Brewers baseball- nonetheless.
  5. Agreed. It's a long time until opening day 2023. Look at it this way: After today, only ONE team will end its season with a win.
  6. By "all" accounts? I got the idea (admittedly from a single Attanasio interview, post-Hader) that he was being hands-off of Stearns; he basically just shrugged when asked about the Hader deal, though he seemed to passively disavow it. Was he hiding something?

  8. Interesting talk about the roster possibilities for next season, by people who pay much more attention to that stuff than I do. But I doubt a complete tear-down and rebuild is warranted or advisable. They were not "bad" just very frustratingly "not quite good enough," especially at the plate. Now I'm ready for the "Brewerless Playoff" thread, also known as, the "Who Do You Cheer for When the Brewers Are Out?" thread.
  9. I'd feel ok if we were a bunch of young hungry players instead being over the hill vets
  10. Yeah. SOMEHOW pitchers save their best performances for us!
  11. Forgive the lame analogy, but these recent games remind me of watching my 18yo dog decline in miserable fashion before we finally had to put the dear guy down. ?
  12. So many mediocre pitchers "pitch a dandy" vs us. ??
  13. Oh yes. This is not really the forum, but lived in OKC for 4 months after that. Spent many days w/o power after Isaac & Ida, too. Hurricanes are worse than this Brewer season. Bad baseball is still pretty good!!
  14. SNAFU. That stands for Situation Normal, All F[owled] Up.
  15. As a New Orleanian, I can relate. Some things put a disappointing baseball season in its place. All the best to you! Hang in there!
  16. This series was the Brewers' season in microcosm: a constant, repeated failure to do basic "baseball stuff" to score more runs than teams they should have beaten... in June, July, August, & September. It's hard not to blame "Mr. Monotone" Counsell for this utterly uninspired season, especially when there was still hope in September. It was disappointing from top to bottom and everywhere in between. All of our hopes proved to be false hopes. Good night.
  17. Thinking...........thinking......still thinking.....................................................
  18. Can we finally say that the next game is "must win"? <irony alert>
