  1. Perdomo.... sounds like a Latin-ish profanity.
  2. Can't start this big winning streak unless we win 2 in a row!
  3. It almost seems like we go through the bullpen until we find the guy who's going to blow it.
  4. I approve of home runs with runners aboard. ??
  5. It's just not THE most important factor. This is trite because it's true: "Hit 'em where they ain't." And the speed of the sac fly is irrelevant.
  6. And by "exit" you mean getting "out" rather than getting "exiting the park."
  7. Can we add up the distance of our warning track outs to get a run or 2? Sick of hearing about how hard we hit the ball... into outs.
  8. I'm walking my daughter's dog. Watching the dog poop is more rewarding than listening to the Brewers bat. Both are $---ty.
  9. I had company and couldn't listen much or join the fun. From what I did hear, I was ready for another bummer loss. But a couple of timely HR's can make a person feel a lot better! I get the idea that CC is seems too cool, blase, uninspired, whatever. I also get the idea that in a long season you've got to control the temperature and not burn out. But I really would like to see a few sparks or signs of enthusiasm from the guy once in awhile.
  10. I'm listening to a small-ball fest between the Phils and Giants. Can't help but wonder AGAIN how different our season would have been if we had played for RUNS instead of really hard-hit outs and solo HRs.
  11. Prediction: Burnes will pitch a gem for 6 innings, but Bumgarner will allow no hits for 7. Final: D-backs 2, Brewer 0. I hope I'm as wrong about this as I am about most predictions
  12. FWIW, I was busy with internet service issues all afternoon and until 10PM. As bad as that was -and it was bad- it was probably not as bad as listening to the game. At least we didn't waste a pitching gem!
  13. Close enough! heh. I wish you could save 2 or 3 runs for a later game.
  14. I tend to agree generally and in the long term of a season. But at some point (like maybe September 1?), you need all hands on deck now, to win today. Guys have to find a will and a way to pitch or play. What good is it to have a well-rested bullpen when you have no more games to play? This is the time you saved players for all year.
  15. Apologies for the self-indulgent repetition of this little manifesto from the end of yesterday's game thread: Safe to say I am the newest of newbie Brewer fans around here. After many years of inexplicable loyalty to the Montreal Expos, I wandered in the wilderness after they moved to DC. I became a 3/4-hearted Dodger fan due to an earlier childhood affection dating back to Koufax & Drysadale & then the LaSorda teams. But I couldn't love them. I finally decided, very deliberately, to be a Brewers fan after the 2018 NLCS against the Dodgers. They showed so much fight, and a friend from Wisconsin is a die-hard fan. Plus, they had become a National League team, which meant something at the time. AND their mascot makes beer! Yes!! Yet I understand the disappointment of long-time fans (ever heard of the New Orleans Aints?). Yes, this team's relentless mediocrity, especially with the bat, is disheartening. But I figure you just try to enjoy the wins and forget the losses (after a suitable period of lamentation and venting.) It's still baseball you can care about, and it's a long time without baseball between the World Series and Opening Day. Enjoy is for what it is..
