  1. I don't depend on my team's winning a championship to make my life good (well... except maybe the Saints winning the Super Bowl; no, not really.) But I will allow a nice win like today's to improve my mood for the rest of the evening! Cheers!
  2. [he said] Well, he DID strike out; [so he said] send him back to Nashville. bughghghgh.
  3. Ahh. OK. I seldom hear him do the Brewers since I only pay the $3/mo for MLB-TV audio
  4. He's a guy you can be absolutely sure will not quit trying to be his best.
  5. FWIW: I LIKE the Brewers' radio guys: Lane Grindle, Jeff Levering, and Josh Maurer (if he's still around). And Uke, of course, for home games. As far as I can tell from non-Brewers TV b-casts I've seen, BA is a really good play-by-play guy; great voice at least.
  6. Sorry to severely edit your spot-on post; just wanted to highlight my favorite part.
  7. I refuse to blame this loss on Yeli. There's too much more blame to go around. But the fact that Yelich's value is as a lead-off hitter with little power and an ability to get a few walks... instead of as an RBI machine, shows how far he has dropped since his knee-cap thing. This is not news.
  8. Quite true. But maybe the motivation will cover up some of the lack of talent. One hopes.
  9. There are very few clear & simple solutions to complex problems. But sometimes, firing the coach/manager/GM IS the solution to a complex problem.
  10. Bring up the kids; at least you know they're motivated to the max.
  11. To paraphrase a bad insult: "CC could not inspire a f@r+ after a red bean supper."
  12. Waiting for that "September surge"? umm, better start it now. bughghghghghg
  13. Absolutely. Little things not done... again and again.
  14. Again, we seem to hit the ball "hard". Too bad we can't control WHERE we hit it. Location is better than velocity any day. We score with homers, but not so much with "bat control" [TM]. And yes, I know hitting a baseball is really hard.
  15. I hope the team's attitude is much better than that of many posters (and MINE). It should be... We win today. And if it's a rain out, we sweep tomorrow. Then we go west to kick some arrogant LA booty. It's baseball; let's play! <puts down beer; snoozes on couch>
  16. I'm all but finished with caring about the Brewers' place in the standings. Even if your team is dead last, you can always get a little joy out of any single game they win. Lowered expectations? Well.... I prefer to think of it as "living in the present moment." ?? I might start looking to the future if Stearns et al. show that they are doing so.
  17. And REALLY HOPE 8 runs won't win it either, bughghghghgh!
