I just realized I have been misspelling Lars Nootbaar. He still sounds like something you should put in your pack before you go on a long hike. "Hey, Dave, did you bring the Lars Nootbaars? I hope you got the peanut butter ones."
OK. Sorry. No more!
This is just bad baseball. The average 14yo ball player knows this. Poor defense plus bad pitching plus clueless at bats. The batting strategy seems to be get behind and try to make the pitcher throw many pitches before you finally watch strike 3. we can't get runners home
Sorry to have not been on the board for this one. But my hands were off the steering wheel and clapping for Keston's walk off. Anything but joy and gratitude for this game is unacceptable. EDIT: I should say joy &c. is all I can feel about it.
Earlier in the day, I was gonna pontificate about how the Brewers don't play enough "situational" baseball and rely too much on big hits. But after back-to-back dingers, maybe I'll save that for later. ? ?
I can't help blaming it on sloppy defense. But you can't ignore the bull pen when you score 11 and still lose because you gave up 2 touchdowns. What a waste of a beautiful game by Yelich. Maybe this game will have positive motivational effects.
