  1. I definitely want the streak to continue and make it 3 straight seasons - however it feels a little wrong to become the only team in MLB history to make the playoffs with a losing record. Don't worry...the Astros trail in the 8th so they could get in at 29-31 also.
  2. Gyorko get a chance as everyday 1st baseman with Vogelbach as DH & PH?
  3. In the lineup right away at 2nd base with Huira as the DH.
  4. Somewhat of an update from Youtube TV this morning. Fox Sports Wisconsin still showing up for me (as of now) TeamYouTube @TeamYouTube Replying to @mke_ford We've reached an agreement with Sinclair and we’ll no longer be able to offer FOX Regional Sports Networks in select areas as of March 5th. If your area is impacted by a channel loss, you’ll be notified in the YouTube TV app soon. 6:22 AM · Mar 5, 2020·Salesforce - Social Studio

I'll second this...actually heading there tonight to meet some friends.
  6. As bensheeps can attest, my eldest nephew (now age 19) and Zach bear a resemblance. I felt fulfilled as a Brewer fan auntie when they got to pose for a photo together a couple of On Decks ago. While my entire family will miss Zach because he genuinely seemed like a good guy, we will miss him even more so due to the fact that he will always be "Jackson" to us in honor of Hawing's nephew.
  7. I did. But missed plenty on other things 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 90-72 Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS All-Star Game Representative(s): Josh Hader, Christian Yelich, Mike Moustakas Offensive Player of the Year: Mike Moustakas Starting Pitcher of the Year: Corbin Burnes Relief Pitcher of the Year: Josh Hader Most Surprising Player: Eric Thames. Has a solid all-around year which is needed because, Most Disappointing Player: Jesus Aguilar. Not terrible numbers, but nowhere near last year as Thames takes more and more at-bats as the year goes on.
  8. Got a chance to get my jersey signed after the game today. Asked Billy "What's next? Any chance of this becoming a longer gig?" He said, "We are in talks."
  9. Late April 2004 Hall hits a walkoff home run against Cincinnati. The next night, he wins an extra-innings game with a walkoff squeeze bunt. It was then that I decided to get a pin-striped Hall jersey that I still wear to this day at many games.
  10. Trevor Bauer, RHP, Cleveland Indians - Stays put Noah Syndergaard, RHP, New York Mets - Padres Madison Bumgarner, LHP, San Francisco Giants - Stays put Robbie Ray, LHP, Arizona Diamondbacks - Yankees Zack Greinke, RHP, Arizona Diamondbacks - Stays put (would love to put Brewers) Caleb Smith, LHP, Miami Marlins - Stays put Matthew Boyd, LHP, Detroit Tigers - Stays put Mike Minor, LHP, Texas Rangers - Brewers Zack Wheeler, RHP, New York Mets - Astros Tanner Roark, RHP, Cincinnati Reds - A's
  11. My now 21 year old son has named his dog Cecil after listening to countless stories of my favorite player growing up even though he never saw Cooper play. Guess I did at least one thing right in raising him.

  13. So Chacin, Anderson, Davies, Woodruff, & Burnes/Peralta?
  14. Interesting experience. My son was dissapointed that his class schedule meant he could only stay the first couple of days, but did get an understanding of how the job fair works and is already looking forward to next year in San Diego. Good conversations with fans of other teams (always a great thing in the middle of winter) and able to bump into different people throughout the casino area. Told my son that I must finally be maturing as I didn't make any snide remarks when I came across Tony Larussa.
  15. Great suggestion. Thanks
  16. I'm sure there will be Winter Meeting threads in the Major League and/or Trade Rumors sections but I'm going at a different angle. My son, a 3rd year student at UW-Madison has begun sending out applications for internships that are baseball related (including one for Baseball Info Solutions that included a really cool test of watching video of at bats and plays where he was then asked to determine pitch type or describe the play in 2 sentences). One of the suggestions was to attend the Winter Meetings and go through the job fair. Now, it sounds like I may tag along with him. Has anyone attended in the past for some helpful hints?
  17. Joel Sherman floats the Sonny Gray idea in the New York Post in an article looking to reload the Yankees. https://nypost.com/2018/10/10/greinke-corbin-arenado-heres-ideal-yankees-offseason-of-reloading/
  18. With no Cedneno or Jennings is it safe to assume Miley and/or Gio have better chance of loogy duty than starting a game?
  19. From Twitter account of Marc Topkin (Rays beat writer) Hearing #Rays are at the point of weighing offers on Archer, though obviously that can be fluid. Also keep hearing broad perception that things are "different" this year regarding #Rays openness to doing a deal
  20. Ok. There's the start. Can we have another day like this winter when we added Cain and Yelich in short order? (Yeah, I'm spoiled)
