  1. I don't know why, and yesterday's game certainly doesn't give me any idication that this is going to happen....but I just think that this offense is going to explode this weekend and score a bunch of runs. Today would be a good start...prime opportunity for our cleanup hitter to maybe actually hit a HR or two.
  2. We're in a weird spot now with the 3 way tie for second in the WC (too bad none of them have any games left against each other). We can all but eliminate one of those teams if we can take 3 in this series...even taking 2 makes it pretty tough on the Phillies to make a run at us (4 up with 12 to play sounds good to me)...but we really need some help from Chicago and Pittsburgh (ouch!!) to lock up the wild card this weekend). Just win our own games and we'll be just fine....just win our own games.... 13 to go.
  3. They weren't in it a couple of times already...they've been red, red hot the last 2 weeks and we semi-imploded. Let's hope they cool off sometime soon...we can't have a Rockies like run 2 years in a row can we?
  4. Heres what I want to see happen... Brewers take 2 in Philly (or better) Cubs take 2 of 3 in Houston Pitt takes 1 of 3 against Cards
  5. Big series with the Cubs this weekend (who they did just sweep). Assuming we can win a couple in Philly, we'll either be in a great spot for the division, or the Astros will be 5-6 back. Personally, I just want to get in, so I'm almost rooting for the Astros to lose to the Cubs...eliminate them once and for all. I hope. This is all assuming we can actually win a couple games in Philly....
  6. I've also had about enough of other teams hitting grand slams...if we can't do it (we can't even single!!), then nobody else should either!!!
  7. Assuming the Astros win tonight and tomorrow...do we cheer for the Cubs or Astros? I'd like to eliminate the Astros altogether, so I might actually want the Cubs to beat them (assuming we can win a couple in Philly). We can take care of the Cubs on our own hopefully...Astros have an easy schedule so a few losses for them would be nice.
  8. I'm torn on the Cubs/Cards...I want to gain on first place but I really want to make the playoffs too. Cards are only 3 back in the loss column at this point. If the Phillies do lose, it takes their elimination number down a notch but our Magic number will stay the same (just over the Cards, not the Phillies). One team at a time though, GO FISH GO!
  9. It's like watching the brewers! Ground rule double costs them a run....and the next go promptly grounds into a DP on the first pitch. Still got the lead though, 4-3 marlins bottom 8
  10. Fish just got a run on a ground rule double in the 8th (likely cost them a run so far). 4-3 Marlins top 8...bases loaded, 1 out for LoDuca
  11. YOSTED!!!! PH for Gwynn, c'mon Ned. At least the run scored, but again, 1 solitary clutch hit would be a monster. When was our last hit with bases loaded?!?!?!
  12. Just 1 big hit, c'mon boys. 2 innings to get it done (probably just 1 cuz we can't hit CoCo). Would everyone else feel completely different if we could somehow come back to win this game?
  13. It really does feel like an enormous dude just punched me in the stomach. It's been building but this might be the final straw. Jerry Hairston of all people hits a HR, we can't get a hit for our lives (or score a run for that matter) and all we seem to hear is the same bs from Yost every night. This season is on the verge of being over here people. The last week has literally sucked the life right out of me. Of course that could all change if we came back to win here, but let's be honest, just about everyone suspects this game was over the moment the ball cleared the fence.
  14. Try taking a pitch here or there...first pitch swinging after a walk. I honestly can not remember the last time we actually got a hit with the bases loaded. Honestly can't remember even a single.
  15. Why does it feel like this game just ended in the 5th inning with 1 swing of the bat. And Jerry Hairston...wow.
  16. Yet another tough loss, and the season continues to slip away. The home plate umpire certainly didn't help the cause but we had several chances to win the game anyway, and of course failed. Of course, it doesn't help to get Yosted, again. I just can't believe he put Counsell and Kendall up there in the last inning, AGAIN!!!
  17. 2 nights in a row...down by a run, and we have Counsell and Kendall batting. Yea, they're going to tie the game for us. I can't argue taking out Hall vs Cordero but there has to be a better option than Counsell. And nice strike 2 call there on Kapler...uh, where exactly did McClung's pitch miss??
  18. I'm pretty sure most of the losses in the last week or so has been the lineups fault...pretty much everyone up and down the lineup.
  19. Seth McClung...not really what I wanted to see out there.
  20. How is it possible for an entire team to be unclutch!?!?!
  21. Lincoln left 3 curves up and over the plate and we did nothing with them. Weeks hit a lineshot, but Hardy and Braun just didn't hit them. Those are the pitches that have been leaving the yard when we throw them. Ugh.
  22. Hardy and Braun both with very, very hittable pitches....and nothing.
  23. Wow, Jay Bruce totally misplayed that ball, but of course...this being how things go for us lately, he's able to reach up behind himself and makes the catch. If that gets over him...game over (mainly due to Escobar's base running, but still). Just can't catch a break lately. And now Gagne....why didn't we double switch when we brought Torres in....oh yea, Yost is managing.
  24. I'm taking a mental health day from the Brewers, so I won't be watching. Maybe they'll not play so uptight and actually score 8-9 runs this game...you know, because they're trying so hard to impress me.
