  1. The longer you can avoid them also gives other teams chances to beat them as well. The first half slow starts are concerning but man when this team turns it on....wow.
  2. Duke and UVA both go down, albeit to ranked teams. Villanova barely escaped (again). The Badgers do have a real shot at a one seed at this point. On paper, our resume is just as good as both of them, if not slightly better. BUT, it all rides on us actually beating Purdue tomorrow. That's another quality top 100 win to add onto the resume and a chance to make a statement. Lose and we're likely locked into a two seed. It would also probably help us if Kansas loses and ND moves up to the 2 line. ND is a LOT closer to Cleveland than we are. At the same time, Syracuse isn't much further from Madison...anything to help us avoid KY.
  3. Agreed. The play in games are a joke, but if they insist on having them, it should all be for the final at large spots. Being a 16 seed is embarrassing enough for teams, but having to play a fellow 16 shouldn't happen.
  4. I'll be there May 1-2. Hoping to tie it into going to the NFL draft as well, assuming the NFL ever actually releases how to get tickets. I haven't gotten any tickets for the games yet either, I'm hoping the lack of bleacher seats doesn't drive the cost up.
  5. I like bobbleheads as much as the next guy. Enough so that I have at least one version of every one the Brewers have ever given out, along with some minor league ones. A few of them I've even paid a decent amount for but these just seem ridiculous. They do look good but are just ridiculously priced to me. It's just so much money and as you've said, last years haven't exactly gone up in value. The casual collector certainly isn't going to fork over hundreds and hundreds of dollars for them IMO - at least I certainly wouldn't.
  6. 100% agree. It was a somewhat nice story - oh look, we took in this stray dog. But seriously, this has just gone too far. Appearances at the stadium, whatever. But multiple "bobbleheads", tshirts, etc. We're literally talking about a stray dog here. I can't for the life of me understand the appeal of it. How is it different than virtually every other dog? And I also agree...this will not change. They'll shove this thing down our throats forever.
  7. Last year it was an incredibly awesome buyer's market. Just find the real fans trying to dump tickets outside the front of the stadium in the resell area. There were people that couldn't get rid of them. The scalpers were really struggling too. Same thing two years ago. I had two decent seats in the terrace that I was looking to get rid of starting a couple hours before game time that I had to eat. One guy offered me 5 bucks apiece. Game day demand was non existent. The StubHub/eBay/Craigslist market & the day of game parking lot market are two completely different things. Huh. That hasn't been my experience but maybe I just had some bad luck.
  8. I wouldn't count on tickets going down as it approaches. There is usually a strong sellers market for this game, even as it approaches. Maybe if you are willing to wait until Sunday night or Monday morning but if past years are any indication, demand for the Opener is really, really high.
  9. Glad to see us come out fired up for a huge road game. Just awful offense, missing a ton of open threes, not moving. Even worse on defense, allowing 65% and a large number of layups. Better get it together or this game is going to turn into a blow out. Maryland is purposely slowing the game down and it's working out to their huge advantage as we can't execute on offense - missed at least 5 WIDE open threes in the first half.
  10. It's hard to say they're going to limp in after 3 games - none of which MCW even played in. Let's see how they all fit together in 10-12 games before judging them. They also lost to the Hawks (best team in the East) and the Bulls who have owned them for two years - they very well might have lost those games with Knight playing anyways.
  11. Searching for the seats on the seat map actually worked really, really well....except for the fact that it wouldn't let me actually buy seats that would leave just a single seat (which seems stupid when the email even says it might just be singles left). There were groups of seats together, but I couldn't actually buy them due to the fact that taking 4/5 or 2/3 seats would leave a single and I needed 4 seats. I also wound up with "obstructed view" but it's the first row of TR so it should just be railing.
  12. I was able to get 4. Took awhile to get in and then I was really frustrated trying to buy tickets. It kept telling me no tickets were available in sets of 4 for any sections. I'd look at the seat map and it would have plenty of seats. Turns out it wouldn't let you buy any sets of tickets that would leave single seats. So there was a bunch of sets of 3/5 available, but the sets of 5 I couldn't get 4 of (or two sets of two because it left a single seat). It was pretty frustrating. I don't know if this was a mistake or not. But it's what was happening. Then as I was playing around with it, obviously more seats kept being purchased. I finally did find a set of 4 (on the seat map, not when just looking for best available) in section 410. It was really annoying because there really were a lot of seats open in much better locations, but it wouldn't let me purchase any of them. I don't know why the Brewers care. They will sell all the single seats for Opening Day without any problem. When I first did get in there, there were a few groups of seats in the lower box, but I didn't want to pay that much for my drunken friends. After about 5 minutes though, everything left was Terrace Reserved.
  13. This is a really must win game for the Badgers. This is the highest rated team they will play this year other than Duke. Beating them on the road would go a long, long way in helping that one seed. We're actually favored by 5, so hopefully that holds true. Maryland has been pretty up and down this year but mainly good at home. This is a huge game for them also so this could be a real battle. Hopefully they can pull it out. And yes, the committee does try to keep teams close to home but they do also look at competitive balance as well. So it's not automatic that we'd get placed in the Midwest.
  14. I don't see how it changes with Reigns as champ. WWE rarely schedules any title matches anymore on RAW or Smackdown...they might as well cancel the shows and just hold promos because nothing interesting happens anyway. Well for starters, it would at least be defended at every PPV. It's the premier belt for supposedly the premier talent and it only gets defended 3-4 times a year as long as Lesnar holds it. Sure, it's not likely to be defended on Raw, but at least they can have it around and further storylines. Paul Heyman is great, but he can really only do so much IMO.
  15. Wasn't great. The cena finish was predictable...sets up for him to win at WM now. I thought the Sting segment could have been much better too. Curious to see how they lineup the card for WM. They have three matches set but otherwise don't have much going and very few story lines setup right now. I'm guessing Rollins vs Orton gets setup. And maybe Ziggler vs Bryan as neither of them have anything to do. I'm not a huge fan of Reigns but hopefully he wins. Having a champ that's never around and a title only defended 3-4 times a year has no appeal for me.
  16. They haven't sent out the details yet but it's on the Brewers website. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/ticketing/sth/benefits.jsp
  17. They'll have some sort of interference or double count out that will lead to a triple threat match at WM. I think the rest of it will be marginal but I'm hoping to be surprised.
  18. The Rick Vaughn one still sells for a lot on ebay (some now on there from 60-100) and there were a lot more of those. Plus it didn't talk. I find it odd that the Brewers are adding more seats. Why not just start with that many? Are they that oblivious to the fact that this was going to be extremely popular? They sell out their regular bobblehead games for the most part, these are unique and cool, surprised they couldn't anticipate high demand.
  19. There isn't one this year, I don't think. They also got rid of the signed baseball that they did the last couple years. Disappointing. They replaced it with the option of receiving all the all-fan giveaways for the entire season which is superior in my opinion. You could take all the fan giveaways (or was it just bobbleheads?) or a $25 per seat concession voucher. I'd like the bobbleheads personally but I'm in a group of 6 and nobody really collects them, so we went with the vouchers - I'm sure most, if not all of which, will be gone on Opening Day.
  20. Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if there is a season seat holder bobblehead this year? Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere.
  21. In ESPN's latest mock draft (insider required), they have Dekker going 25th to the Lakers. That's starting to get dangerously close to the second round. Being a first round pick is essential for anyone that leaves early. First round picks are guaranteed contracts and roster spots. Second round picks make substantially less money, aren't guaranteed spots on rosters and often times wind up in Europe. If he's really projected at the bottom of the first round, Dekker has a huge decision to make. How certain is it that he'd go in the first? Basically...does he think he would improve or hurt his stock during his senior year? Improving would mean likely moving up in the first round, stock dropping would mean second round pick or worse. It's a tough call certainly. Would hate to see him leave early and then not get picked in the first round - guess that's what the NBA advisors are for. Obviously a lot can change in projections between now and the end of the year and whatnot, but if he's really projected in the 25-35 range, that makes the decision way, way more difficult than if he was more or less a certain first round pick.
  22. It should be pretty easy to apply the themes. Other than decorating the stadium and showing characters, they can play the songs from Star Wars and Major League between innings, have the sausages dressed differently, maybe do some sort of special uniforms, etc.
  23. That's more or less what I'm doing. I already had tickets to both of these games in my 20 pack. So I just bought a ticket for each game because I wanted the bobblehead but have no intention of actually sitting in those seats, as I'll be with all my buddies in our season seats. Wish they had announced this earlier. I would have gone to these games for sure, on top of my regular season tickets. Now I'm stuck with 2 tickets to the same game, just so I can get the bobblehead. Had I known, I wouldn't have picked these in my 20 pack, would have bought tickets with the wife and gone to a couple of extra games. They really don't make it very clear how they are going to be handing out the bobbleheads or how many you get. I'd be ticked if I went with the wife or a buddy and only one of us got a bobblehead.
  24. Yeah that almost has to be the case. Hence why only select ticket levels are available. Bought one for each game last night. The major league one is already sold out of the terrace level. I'm sure they'll all be gone shortly. Kind of a cool idea. i would assume each ticket comes with a voucher or something to claim the bobblehead. With only 4k and the fact that they both presumably are pretty cool, this could be a hot item on the secondary market for sure. Be curious to see how many wind up on eBay.
  25. I saw this. Does anyone know the story here? From what I know, he has some serious issues - depression I believe. He's been on and off the HS basketball team all season and it seems like he has a lot of personal issues to work through right now without worrying about basketball.
