  1. They could maybe turn them into late firsts if they throw in some cash, assuming the seconds are in the realty portion of the round. Some teams (like the spurs for example) love to take European guys in the second and keep them there for a few years. Second round picks have to guaranteed salary so teams do sometimes look to get out of the first round if they are going to be over the cap.
  2. Why wait a week to suspend him? If they've reached that conclusion just do it already. Even if they do, it still has to stand in an appeal.
  3. Lol. Whoops. I looked at that twice but I was a few beers in and just left it. Regardless, anyone associated with Milwaukee sports named Hammond or hammonds bugs me
  4. John Hammonds and his quest to be mediocre.
  5. Because we don't have enough big guys, including two going promising ones. How are we going to have enough minutes for all these guys? I've been critical of the bucks and for good reason because they need to tank...but this roster is stil pretty bad. Not top five pick bad but I don't see a playoff team here, even with Jennings.
  6. Yep. You're exactly right. It's odd to anyone with half a brain that realizes being mediocre for ten years sucks. For the bucks management...they probably popped some champaign and high fived thinking they have a real shot to win 35 games next season with mayo.
  7. Mayo is decent and I guess someone has to play guard but the move seems odd to me. Just helps continue the mediocrity in a year when being terrible should be the goal. Can't wait to see how badly we overpay Jennings now.
  8. I agree 100%. They need to start at the bottom, they just refuse. They make baffling moves to improve the team just enough to barely make the playoffs or screw themselves in the lottery. We've been there for 10 years now. They have no direction and that falls on Kohl. If Hammonds had any stones at all (or brains too), he'd flat out tell Kohl that we need to suffer for a year or two to improve (see Seattle/OKC). Next years draft is loaded. Say we got Wiggens, and Giannis pans out, along with Sander and Henson...couple years of experience and you're really on to something. I know they have to fill out rosters, but why bother with Korver and Smith? Just get some vets that will come here for cheap and bide your time. It's just a complete joke of a GM and front office IMO. This upcoming draft is the best chance they'll have in a long time to get a true impact player and they're blowing that shot so they can win 35-40 games next season in a best case scenario.
  9. Any updates on Arcia? From that photo, I'd guess it's a sprain...could be a day or two, could be a month or two.
  10. At least when the Brewers did it, it made sense. And we got back proven players that we controlled for a couple years. The Bucks traded for Redick with a team that had a ceiling of a 7 seed. And they dumped a first round pick that was 19 years old and they refused to play for no reason. I can't fathom how Hammond still has a job. He clearly has no idea what he is doing and building a completely mediocre team is his strong suit.
  11. Nice job Bucks...here's a national take on it. We have the worst front office in the NBA. http://nba.si.com/2013/07/02/eric-bledsoe-trade-j-j-redick-caron-butler-jared-dudley-los-angeles-clippers-phoenix-suns-milwaukee-bucks/?sct=hp_t12_a6&eref=sihp
  12. I understand. That was part of my point. That this "new" story by TMZ isn't really a story. This guy has been there all along, he's shared some evidence - both with the newspaper and MLB, and that unless he has something else that he previously failed to mention to either of those parties, the TMZ report seems way, way overblown. Couple other interesting reads about it: http://www.sbnation.com/mlb/2013/7/2/4486338/mlb-biogenesis-interview-porter-fischer-records-documents http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/06/21/the-biogenesis-investigation-turns-into-a-dirty-harry-movie/
  13. The fan base is basically non-existant now. They haven't won a playoff series in over a decade. It's not like winning only 20 games instead of 38 is going to suddenly make everyone hate the Bucks. No matter what they do, they won't contend next year or the year after. The only shot they have is to win, and IMO, the only shot for that is to be awful for a year or two and hit on the lottery picks. Getting Butler sucks, but he only has 1 year left on his deal anyways. And maybe they can turn around and flip him for a guard with a similar 1 year deal. From what I gather, the Clippers prefer OJ Mayo to Redick though.
  14. One again, Braun not mentioned in that article as someone that the Miami Sun Times feels is guilty. Here are some quotes I find particularily telling: "Fischer's motives were simple. He believed he'd been cheated by the clinic's ow "Owner, Tony Bosch, who the records indicated had sold performance-enhancing drugs to players including New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez and the Toronto Blue Jays' All-Star MVP Melky Cabrera." "MLB never seemed to grasp one key fact about Fischer: He didn't give a damn about their sport. In fact, other than A-Rod and Melky Cabrera, Fischer didn't even recognize a single ballplayer's name in Bosch's records until a New Times reporter began poring through them." No mention of Braun in the first one. Now Braun isn't A-Rod but he was an MVP and he WAS implicated in steroid before, if his name was on the records for buying roids, you'd think he would recognize it. Granted, this article is 2 weeks old, but it doesn't change anything. I don't see how he has any evidence, based on that article, that could contribute to anything. It seems that it's all just more hand written notebooks. Not only that, but who stole all the stuff from his car? That's a crazy story.
  15. I heard potentially Caron Butler (1 year, 8 million left I believe) would be thrown in along with Bledsoe. These are the types of moves I HATE from the Bucks. Bledsoe is actually a decent player, but he's not likely to sign here after next season. So it's basically a move that makes them somewhat better next year (when they should be tanking) and doesn't do much for the future. They need to acquire draft picks or a young guy that's a year or two away or something. If they resign Bledsoe, that's different but I don't see that happening. Our only shot to really improve is through the draft, and next years draft is loaded...hence why teams are mailing it in (see Boston), why aren't we smart enough to realize that?
  16. ESPN was just an example. I haven't seen ANY other sources aside from TMZ. Doesn't make it untrue, I'm just waiting for a slightly better source. That's all. ESPN reporting does suck, but this is something they would usually run with and blast all over the place and they haven't...yet.
  17. He could lead in WAR, but he plays on one of the worst teams in all of baseball. He'd have to have a season so far above and beyond everyone else to even be considered.
  18. TMZ...not really buying it until someone actually confirms it. It's not on ESPN or CBS or anything at this point. Few odd things though.... So he contacted MLB with the info, yet they are still paying him a consulting fee? So they're more or less buying his testimony...of course it's going to be what they want. Also, why does he have these documents in his personal possession and why is he just now coming forward? And how dumb would a player have to be (yet alone 20-100 players) to actually have any paper trail or whatever to link them to illegal drugs?
  19. I don't think the plan is to tank, but it's sure appearing like they're going to be really bad next year. Even with Jennings, they simply have no offense. They can't attract any decent free agents, so when they do fill out the roster it will all be role player types. I'm fine with it, they can be the worst team in the NBA next season and go for Wiggins in the draft. They probably won't come out and say it but when you have a team with a ton of needs and you take a guy in the first round that won't be ready for 2-3 years even in a best case scenario, you're more or less mailing it in at that point IMO. If Ellis and Redick leave, I hope they explore all the sign and trade scenarios. Getting anything for either would be nice.
  20. Helps put the tanking cause but we already have not one but two promising young power forwards. Makes no sense. Who is going to play guard this season exactly?
  21. Sounds like Hart may miss all season now (per cbs), so we won't be trading him and I really don't see why we'd bring him back unless we really think that poorly of Halton, Morris and Francisco.
  22. Well at least we'd move up a spot in next year's draft if that holds true...honestly, with the way we're playing, we can probably catch every team except Miami. They are beyond terrible.
  23. Now it's just becoming laughable. Drop a routine throw at 1b (that would have been out #4). Then give up a 3 run HR. You can't give teams, even bad ones, 5-6 outs in one inning (and that doesn't even count the easy caught stealing if Maldonado makes even an average throw to second). Honestly, it simply appears that the team no longer cares. Yeah, we're out of it, but over half the reason remains, you can't just have players going through the motions in late June. That falls on the coaching staff for me. Heads need to roll.
