  1. I guess I hadn't thought about copyright laws. Probably not a good idea then. The adoramapix site looks useful, though I don't have time for it in this instance. I do find the laws interesting....pictures are readily available on the internet, I can make it my wallpaper, I can forward it to anyone I want but if I go to print it, that violates the laws. Even more interesting is that there are ways to prevent it, have the photographer put a logo in the corner or put something in the middle of the picture that can only be removed if you purchase it, those types of things.
  2. It's really quite simple - they attacked the procedures because they were CLEARLY flawed. They did offer to do a DNA test, among other things but MLB said no. There is also the possibility that something DID get tampered with or his sample got messed up sitting out that long (as Caroll wrote, Brauns team reproduced the results). Obviously it's different in a court of law, but if you gave a blood sample to the police, for whatever reason and instead of getting it tested right away, a cop took it home, let it sit around for 3 days, then took it in, do you think that would hold up in court? Would you argue that whatever was in that container wasn't your sample or would you argue that it doesn't make any difference what the sample has in it, because it was sitting around for 3 days to degrade, maybe be contaiminated, etc.
  3. I don't follow the minors as closely these days, and despite the somewhat aggressive placements, it doesn't seem like any of them are having a lot of success.
  4. I'm too lazy to go back and look but I'm pretty sure one of his lawyers names WAS on the list, along with Braun. For those stating that Braun had steroids in his sample, you need to read the article Will Carrol wrote about how Braun's team was able to duplicate the test results.
  5. Yeah, I guess it doesn't make much difference. We're already horrible, I guess Thornburg making a start or two can't make us any worse.
  6. So I'm getting Peralta's autograph on Saturday, went to buy an 8x10 from the store...hated the selection. Also hated that they are charging $10 for one...that seems excessive for an unsigned 8x10 photo. So it got me to thinking, can I create my own? I know Walgreens can easily print 8x10's for three bucks or so, but I'm not sure what the quality will look like. Also seems like online pictures are always much cooler to look at that anything the store ever has. Anyone ever made their own, and if so, any hints about it? Specifics on the image that I need (size or resolution for example?). Thanks.
  7. Thornburg? Really? There isn't anyone else on the 40 man that could come up for a spot start or two? What about Nelson?
  8. The thing is, he already kind of did, didn't he? Yeah, but I think anything he's said to date should be taken with a grain of salt since he's lied to everyone. Although I don't see why he'd lie about Braun's affiliation with him especially since Braun was the only player he publicly named. In which case I'm pretty confident he'll tell the same story to MLB. This is true...everything he has and WILL say needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I can't imagine lawyers in cross examination won't have a field day with that. I would laugh hysterically if he told MLB Braun only used him as a consultant.
  9. 4 - be very curious to see how much info is leaked if they do get suspended, and what the players union is going do to about it.
  10. Couple of thoughts here... 1 - multiple sources are saying none of the players here have been interviewed by MLB...so if that's the case, how can they penalize them for lying? It can't be strike one and strike two at the same time if they've yet to even be talked to. so...pure conjecture then by media? 2 - Bosch is cooperating, but I don't know how anyone can say for certain what information he has or is going to provide. He could change his mind, he might not have all that great info, or he could stick to the story that Braun used him as a consultant (sources say otherwise, but who are those sources and how do they know?). 3 - when this gets in front of an arbirtrator, it's going to get very interesting. Bosch will have to testify, which means all the players lawyers can question him...about his previous statements, was he lying? is he doing this just to avoid a lawsuit, etc? It could be very interesting and MLB is going to need to really prove these players got steriods solidly IMO.
  11. If the appeals have been heard, nobody knows the verdict. Though if that's true it would once again mean a leak. I read this as MLB is expecting Bosch to give them enough evidence to issue the suspensions, with the appeals to follow. If that's the case it could be 2-3 months before he is suspended, meaning he misses more than half next season.
  12. I agree...was just responding to the post requesting links for the trades were talking about. This could help in that we don't exactly have any real 3b prospects to speak of.
  13. As far as the trades go...this probably isn't directly related, but if he can come in and hit, it makes it that much easier to trade Ramirez if the opportunity presents itself. It's far too early to get any trade rumors in early June, but I think everyone agrees the season is probably over already, and it only makes sense to trade guys like Hart, as it's probably unlikely he returns next year.
  14. Gonzalez really rubbed me the wrong way. He was hitting terrible and he just didn't seem to want to hustle or even pretend to care.
  15. It would be interesting to see an infield of Francisco, Segura, Gennett and Morris come August.
  16. I don't know if he's the whipping boy persay, but I'm pretty annoyed by the whole Corey Hart situation. When he first got hurt, it was more or less said that he'd be back in mid-late April, then it was early May. Then he was mysteriously put on the 60 day DL, mainly because we needed the roster spot and that he would absolutely be back when he was eligible to return on June 1...now here we sit on June 3, and he doesn't appear to be even remotely close to coming back, it sounds like he's 2-3 weeks away from a rehab assignment, so he might be back by July. I won't fault him from getting hurt but the situation is ridiculously frustrating - one, we have scrubs playing 1b in his absence that are killing us. Two, we could really use him, and three, since we're so far out of it, we need him to come back and do something to get any trade value at all.
  17. Just curious...what do game used bats cost these days? And where/how do you get them?
  18. Can anyone help me with this? I've never bought a big stick bat before and want to get Segura on one at a signing this weekend. I went to Dunhams and they do have them, but they had all different sizes. What is the best one to get? Are the black ones the same? I think that would look pretty sweet. Anyone?
  19. Not Bucks related, but I didn't want to start another thread for the NBA. But let's see...Lebron has been gone from Cleveland for 3 years now. Cavs have managed to win the draft lottery not once, but twice during that time. How convenient huh? I know almost everyone thinks it's fixed, and these types of things don't help at all IMO.
  20. I thought the PPV was overall pretty bad. Glad I didn't pay for it...Hooters sent me an email on Sunday morning that they were showing it, so me and a buddy went and watched it. Fandango/Jericho was marginally ok, the rest of the matches were pretty marginal. I found myself pretty bored throughout. I thought Ryback/Cena was ok, but thought the ending was really lame. Was there even a winner? They just kinda left it, so I can only assume Cena is still the champ. HHH/Lesnar was actually a decent match. I liked the sledge hammer not working for HHH for a change. I was surprised he lost, but good match overall. Not sure what's next for Lesnar. He just feuded with the "top dog"...so unless he's going after a title, I don't know what his plan is. I guess after thinking about it, the Big Show/Orton match was ok, but really more just because Orton punted him at the end. I can only hope this leads to a heel turn or at least a more sinister type persona. Thats the only role Orton can play and he's been just kinda floating along as a face for a long time now.
  21. Just wanted to bump this up, can anyone help me out? See post above. Thanks.
  22. I'll give him a pass on the starters, not much he can do about that...but I do question some of his bullpen decisions, especially his insistance on putting Axford into tight games time after time while he's been struggling badly.
  23. Is it bad that we now look at a line like that for Rickie Weeks and think "eh, it's not so bad"? If someone like Braun put up a line like that over 16 games we'd say he was in a pretty big slump.
  24. The WBC probably really hurt him, I think he only got 1 or 2 at bats during that entire time. Instead of getting regular swings, he sees 2 at bats in 7-10 days. Maybe it's not related, but that sure doesn't seem like it would help.
