  1. Has Gindl always been THIS bad in the field? Once again, this is why we lose games. We're simply not a good team, everything goes wrong and it sure seems like the players really don't even care. Looking at the last two games, we've made so many errors, executed so poorly, it's like we're TRYING to lose.
  2. I'm fine with moving Weeks up in the order based on the injuries and how he's hitting...but whats the rationale behind him batting 1 and Aoki batting 2? Wouldn't it make WAY more sense the other way around? Aoki is faster, Weeks has more power...why not put the speed in front and the RBI/power guy behind him? Aoki is really a prototypical leadoff hitter, so let's move him somewhere else in the lineup.
  3. This is the same front office that put up with Alex Gonzalez hitting about .150 for 2 months, despite having 2 other SS's on the roster. They could still platoon Weeks with Bianchi if they really wanted to.
  4. This actually made me laugh. My friends and I used to just say "Yosted" every time he blew a game for us. I need a similar turn for RR I think.
  5. I agree. I didn't think they were one of the worst teams in baseball, but watching them tonight, you can see how/why they lose game after game. Some of it is the players not executing, but I do also firmly believe it's the coaching staff making things more difficult and when we win (and this is true in the past), we often times won DESPITE RR, not because of him. A manager can only do so much, but putting your players in the best position to succeed and not making stupid decisions would certainly help. At the same time, the roster that DM has put together is just fundamentally flawed. Look at some of the PH options, it's brutal. Injuries have hurt, but a lot of that is on Melvin too, like Yuni even still being on the roster for example.
  6. It's the simple way they screw it up too. Segura takes strike 3 looking. Lucroy swings at what is probably a ball on a 3-0 pitch and pops up and Yuni hits it decently, but right at someone and we send Weeks anyway and he's out by a mile. The first two are worse IMO because the infield was back. Yuni's ball would have scored the run in either of those cases. I hate the sac bunt in the 9th there and I hate virtually everything RR does as a manager, consistently putting the team in situations it struggles to succeed.
  7. And that folks is why we suck. Simply no way we should have lost this game IMO. Simple baseball. No, it wasn't on Weeks, he was clearly going on contact. Weeks even made a nice slide and hit the glove really hard, sorta surprised he hung on to it.
  8. Pathetic. At least he hit it well, couple more inches over and that's into left. 2 unearned runs and 3 fails, including the last two innings at a sac fly. Oh and I really hate that we have a guy that can't hit a HR up here too.
  9. Well here we go again. Third time tonight. Unfortunately, it's Yuni. Here comes the first pitch pop up I'm sure.
  10. So tired of this team. Weeks with an error, than Yo makes a horrible 0-2 pitch to Rizzo and it costs us two runs. And twice tonight, including once in the 8th inning, man on third, 1 out, and we fail to drive him in. Gives Lucroy the green light on 3-0 and he pops up. We have to be the absolute worst team in baseball at hitting a simple sac fly. It doesn't even seem to matter who is up, tonight it's Segura and Lucroy. I'm sure we're probably not, but it just seems like we fail in that spot way more than we succeed. It's just bad baseball all around, simple fundamentals like not making errors, hitting sac flies and not throwing 0-2 pitches to the cleanup hitter right down the middle. And as I'm typing this our two infielders fight over a ball that nobody fields and a runner reaches. Frustrated.
  11. Rumored to be interested in JR Smith, along with several other teams. This is the exact type of signing we need to avoid. High priced, medium talent shooter. Hammond and Kohl are just simply not smart enough to realize that having one terrible year or maybe even two will really be worth it in the long run.
  12. Can either Morris or Halton play anywhere other than first? If hart is gone next season and they are both ready...what would the plan be?
  13. I still like Larkin...undersized maybe, but he's a freak athlete (44 inch vertical), great passer and all the scouts have stated that he's a great team first player, which just isn't found much in the NBA. I can see him really putting guys like Sanders in position to score, which is something he just really can't do on his own. But this is Hammond so he'll probably draft yet another big man that we don't need and then waste a bunch of our cap space on an overpriced veteran that can help us compete for 34 wins.
  14. Why not? Detroit is a strong contender with issues at the back end of their bullpen...they are a prime candidate to overpay for someone like krod. Personally is wait until later and maybe get teams to bid against each other but if Detroit offers a great deal if take it.
  15. It's not that pierce is a horrible player, it's that the bucks would be giving up assets to get him (cavs are rumored to be offering to early second round picks). The bucks shouldn't be giving up anything for guys like pierce, we're almost certain to suck next year, getting pierce so we can win a few games more and decrease our lottery chances is the type of move that has hurt this franchise for a decade now. They need to draft and play young guys, lick their wounds for a year or two and hope for lottery luck. Especially next year with a loaded draft class.
  16. The fact that were even exploring Paul pierce as an option shows how poorly this franchise is approaching this off season. Hammond is terrible.
  17. Hobbs looked very, very good tonight against NC State. At the same time, watching Rodon really makes me sad. What would our system look like with him in it? Hobbs went 8 1/3, 0 runs, 5 hits, 2 BB and 6 K. Anyone have any thoughts on Hobbs? Do we have enough left to sign him? is he worth it?
  18. It's cool because most regular fans know him and he's from WI...but really...how many umpires can a normal fan really name? 5? 10 at the most? Unless you know him or you have some tie to him, I really don't think there is much appeal for an umpire bobblehead. Just my opinion I guess...
  19. I'm sorta hoping for Larkin at 15 or maybe Muhammed. We'll blow it either way I'm sure.
  20. I would love to get the first pick and redraft Rodon, but realistically, can we ever actually catch Miami? What are they...7 games behind us? Unless they improve, we'd have to get ridiculously bad to get a worse record than them.
  21. Anyone want to bet they manage to drive him in from third here after we failed 4 times? And this is why I suck at gambling, LOL. You're right, this should just end in a tie.
  22. Sweet, yet another failure with a man on third and one out. It's just laughable at this point. 0-12 with RISP and 4 tries in the last 3 innings with a man on third and 0/1 out and we haven't scored a single run. And giving Schaefer the green light on 3-0? Really Ron? Swing at 3-0 and you should do better than a routine ground ball. I'm not even sure it was a strike.
  23. I'm too lazy to look up the stats, but I swear we fail at driving that man in more than any other team in the majors. I'm almost stunned when we actually hit a sac fly. We could easily have a much bigger lead if we could just hit a sac fly or two. And there goes the lead just like that. Nice job driving those runs in from third, Brewers.
  24. I don't have the sound on (work) but is that Yo's dad they keep showing in the Gold #49 jersey? Looks an awfully lot like him.
  25. That inning of offense is a perfect example of how this season has gone. Execute a perfect hit and run, steal second for the middle of the order. Then strike out with the infield in and 1 out...then we get a wild pitch over the catchers head that comes back to the catcher without him even having to move and Gindl is caught in no mans land. Edit: Make that the last TWO innings. This one man on third, no outs and no runs scored. So frustrating. I shouldn't care much with this team this season, but I still want them to win and the lack of the ability to simply hit a sac fly is just infuriating. I know other teams fail too, but we seem to fail in that spot way more often than not.
