  1. Nice pitch on 0-2 there Yo. Sure seems like we give up a lot of those. And now a wild pitch/passed ball to put him on third. Almost like we're trying to give them a run here. No way I'd let McCutchen get a hit here, pitch around him and setup the double play.
  2. Is Wandy pitching well or are the Brewers bats just struggling? Sure looked like both Braun and Ramirez had very, very hittable pitches that inning. FYI Turbo, I'm back in the chat room.
  3. It's really not piling on when it's all true With how good our top of the order has been, the fact that we're not scoring many runs really really illustrates how horrible the rest of the lineup has been. Anyone else hate Brandon Inge? I have for years.
  4. I'm not expecting any different, just pointing out a fact. We needed him to go deep tonight to help the bullpen out a little and it's not looking like it's going to happen. Way to waste the leadoff triple. Man are we struggling with RISP. Hard to watch right now.
  5. So while Yo looks better tonight, curveball looks much sharper, he's still not being even remotely efficient. Pirates have had only 3 baserunners in 3 innings, which isn't horrible, but Yo is already at 59 pitches. So once again, on pace for 5, maybe 6 innings.
  6. Another rope for Ramirez goes for an out, another out with RISP. Where was that LF playing that he caught that?? Frustrating. Completely unrelated, but I'm also watching the Heat/Bulls game and I really hate Lebron James. Stop whining already, you get virtually every call as it is.
  7. Where is everyone tonight? 2 innings in..no posts? Gallardo looking somewhat better tonight with his control. Offense 0-2 already with RISP.
  8. Anyone have a picture of a signed Big Stick? I was thinking of getting Segura on one here in June, but most of my autographs are on balls and pictures and wasn't sure if it was worth getting or not. I only have one bat, it's a Rickie Weeks one that I got at one of those charity things the Brewers had, that one has his name engraved on it and such, which obviously big sticks don't, does that make them a lot less valuable? Whats the value of a signed bat as opposed to a ball or picture in the long run? I'm contemplating getting 2-3 Segura autographs while they are still cheap and I thought a bat might be cool.
  9. His two AAA outings seemed to have gone pretty well, though I have no idea how fast he was throwing, what he looked like, etc. But I'd imagine they are going to bring him up. Bigger question...who goes down?
  10. So you're saying so far this year, that Rickie Weeks and his .310 ish OBP has been more valuable to the team than Yuni? While I understand that OBP is important, there is also something to be said for driving in runs and hitting HR, both things that Weeks simply has not done. Is Yuni great? No. But to say that his OBP is killing the team offensively, is a bit overstated IMO.
  11. Somehow I missed this reply but I hope no malice towards Melvin was inferred on my part as I'm actually really happy with last year's Greinke trade. I have plenty of reasons to dislike Melvin's organization building strategy (or lack there of) but in this case he was spot on. I was speaking more to the idea of "being one player away" and I started thinking about potentially giving up 6-7 WAR per season over the course of 6-7 years for 2 months of a rental pitcher. That's just terrible value by any measure. I guess it all depends, while I don't think that's worth it (though I have doubts they thought Segura would be this good), what if Greinke had gone there and pulled a CC? And single handidly pushed them into the playoffs (or further)? Would the trade be better? Granted, we got CC for 3 months and he was just unreal, even if Laporta and Brantley turned into All-Stars, that trade would have been worth it to me.
  12. What stats are you using to say Lucroy is worse than Weeks? Lucroy has a higher average (.216 to .181), higher sluggling (.333 to .276), higher OPS (.598 to .578) and has more HR (3 to 2) and more RBI (16 to 9) in about 15 less at bats. Weeks has him in OBP (.302 to .264) but that's about it. Weeks has also struck out 42 times compared to Lucroys 14. Neither has been ripping it up lately either, as Lucroy is 5-30 in May and Weeks is 5-33, neither with an extra base hit. They've both been pretty bad, but I don't see how you can say Lucroy is worse at the plate the Weeks. Pretty tough to write Gennett off without even a single major league at bat. If you're saying he can't hit .180 with little to no power, I'd find that extremely unlikely.
  13. While I do think that Sloan is a good coach and would give us some sort of credibility...he's 71. How long is he realistically going to coach? I don't want a guy to come in, coach 2-3 years and retire. Sloan has everything but a title...why on earth would he come to Milwaukee in the twilight of his career? This roster is lightyears away from contending for a title. This was pretty funny from CBS... Could Sloan do that? Or would Sloan be unable to connect with a younger roster? It's a debate, but the Bucks are definitely looking for experience and intensity. We'll see how that sits with Jennings, who's likely more interested in a player's coach to let him, you know, do Brandon Jennings things.
  14. Are we really having this argument? This has nothing to do with his skin color, it could be purple or green and it wouldn't change the fact that for the second year in a row, we're sitting in mid-May and he's batting .180 with no power. Doesn't help that he's making a ton of money this year either. Lucroy is getting a pass because Weeks is just so much worse than Lucroy at this point...and we don't have any better options for Lucroy, as Maldonado (small sample) is batting about as well as Weeks. We DO have other 2b options, including a guy with a super high average in AAA, we just refuse to use them. Skin color is the last thing this has to do with.
  15. I don't think anyone is saying that players aren't part of the problem here. My biggest gripe with RR, and this was true when we went to the NLCS too, is that I believe he often times makes it MORE difficult for the players to succeed. The best a manager can do, with any players, is to play to their strengths, put them and the team in the best position to succeed. And IMO, he consistently fails to do this. Be it not giving Weeks a single day off during his struggles, making pitching changes that make little to no sense, starting Kotsay in CF in the NLCS. These things were being said even when we were winning, we were just winning despite his numerous gaffes, that often times led me to say we won DESPITE him, not BECAUSE of anything that he did.
  16. Thats not entirely true, there is a bigger whole on the left side with the first basemen holding on Gomez and the second basement playing up the middle for the double play. So there is a bigger whole to aim at for the lefty on the hit and run. I think thats what he's referring to, not necessarily who is covering the base.
  17. I've been out of the minors loop the last couple weeks due to work traveling...why is Fiers in Brevard?
  18. Winning the series is great, but when you win the first two, have a 2 run lead in the 8th inning, I'm disappointed with the loss. Axford got somewhat unlucky with 2 IF hits essentially and Weeks kicking the ball, but he still gave up the HR and the hits on 0-2 were just too close to the plate for my liking.
  19. That's a disappointing loss to say the least. Wasted a great outing by Burgos...all because Axford can't keep the ball in the yard and Rickie thinks we're playing soccer. Frustrating. Can't win them all I guess but I wanted this one.
  20. While I think Lalli was absolutely the wrong PH choice, he just had a great at bat. 12 pitches, winds up with a single. Now someone blast one out please. Schafer is due in a big way here. Or not, he's really scuffled this year. Come on Jean, get Braun up here somehow.
  21. He's not under contract next year, he's up for arbitration. We could cut him and not pay him anything...I think. Where is K-Rod at these days? did we assign him anywhere?
  22. Gamecast had that 2-0 pitch to Yuni right smack in the center of the strike zone Ugh. I don't see us getting two off Grilli.
  23. Well there's the runner...Yuni have another one in him?
  24. TOMMY GORZO?! Gorzo has been fine...Gonzalez was the one he brought in to throw an 0-2 hanger up there. Axford has given up hits on 0-2, 0-2, 0-2 and 1-2 in his last two outings. Gonzalez another on 0-2. Alright...moving on. Get a bloop and a blast here please.
  25. While I hope you're right, I'm not feeling it. Axford blowing games just sucks the life right out of me, I'm so tired of seeing it.
