  1. Gasser throws three sweepers in a row. He gets his second K of his inning. I ask us: Why the heck is LHP Robert Gasser pitching as a Sound? Why is RHP Craig Yoho back in the Sounds bullpen? Mysterious pitching staff decisions afoot up in Milwaukee if you ask me. Both of these arms 'should' be eating innings for the Brewers. I personally don't see this as a hot take. This is pretty obvious baseball observation.
  2. This just in: Robert Gasser is still filthy. He gets a swinging K on that filthy here it is now it isn't breaking ball. Two down. Man on 1st. 3-2 Sounds in the top of the 6th. Gasser then threw a wild pick-off throw to 1B and Kelenic seemed to head first slide right into his lower leg. He will leave the game injured. May have been stepped on his right hand. Black is OK.
  3. 4 IP for Letson. 6 K. His lone real blemish the mini meltdown that led to the hanger that led to the Salami dong. Outside that sequence, he's had a really nice debut.
  4. Wilken rips a hard hit grounder off the glove of the diving SS. Garcia, who had advanced to 2B on a Burke ground out up the middle, scores on the play. That's three of the salami back in the Shuckers column. 7-4 they lead.
  5. Garcia, filling in for the injured Pratt, after Made k'd looking with two on, sends two across after a double steal. Lara and EBJ both cross home plate on a shallow liner to left CF for a 2-RBI single. 6-4 Shuckers they take the lead right back top of the 4th.
  6. Gasser does what Gasser does. Bobby Petrol puts the pump back in the holster. First pitch weak ground out to 1B. Threat ends. On to the bottom of the 5th. 3-2 Sounds.
  7. Cornielle will come just shy of five complete frames. He ends his night seeing an 0-2 count turn into a...you guessed it...free pass. He will finish at 4 2/3 IP. Pitch count ends at 88. Sounds leading 3-2 with runners on 1st and 2nd.
  8. Welp. It was great while it lasted. Letson walks the next batter on five pitches. Bases juiced. He falls behind again to the next hitter to a 2-0 count. And, the game one nemesis in Gladney smashes a grand salami. It's suddenly a 4-4 game. That was what we call a dead center hanger. Poor pitch. Damage done. That ball was absolutely crushed.
  9. Letson walks one and sees a single poked immediately after. But he gets his 5th K on an inside slider (swinging). That's two down as the Barons executed the double steal on the play when Wood dropped the ball before attempting a throw to 3B (likely wouldn't have succeeded anyway). Men on 2nd and 3rd. 4-0 Shuckers lead.
  10. Man alive. 7 K for Cornielle. He gets a K looking on a sinker on the outer black for his first out of his fifth inning.
  11. Letson strikes out his 4th and his 3rd in a row to open his half of the 3rd frame.
  12. Sounds with the rare base running mishap. Berroa took off for the steal. Dunn stayed put and made his way back to 2B. They squander a two on and two out opportunity for Daz Cameron. Not the Sounds batter you want to waste that opportunity with. On to the 5th. 3-2 Sounds. Cornielle is still on the bump at just 64 pitches.
  13. Letson finishes his second frame with consecutive K's swinging. Love it. 3 K through 2.0 IP. 4-0 Shuckers.
  14. Cornielle then nabs the runner at 1B who inexplicably left early. It's a pick-off CS. And he induces a pop up to 3B. He faces the minimum despite the walk and is now only at 61 pitches through four frames.
  15. Cornielle follows with an 0-2 check swing K. That's his sixth K through 3 1/3 IP.
  16. Cornielle opens his 4th frame with his 1st inning friend: the four-pitch walk.
  17. Lara swipes his second bag of his evening. 43rd of his year.
  18. Quero with the go-ahead RBI double in a 1-2 count. Beaut. Got all the way to the wall as it tailed away from ol' friend LF Carlos D. Rodriguez. 101 mph off the lumber. 3-2 game.
  19. And now we will pause for your farmer's farm chores in your not so local mountain valley in the remote Inland Northwest wilderness.
  20. Letson is sitting 94.5 -to- 95.5. He gets the ground out to 1B and the ground out to Made at SS (yes, he moved over to cover for the injured Pratt). He escapes without any damage. 4-0 and they head to the 2nd.
  21. Lockridge just snuck a well hit grounder inside the 3B line all the way into the Sounds bullpen for a one out double in the bottom of the 3rd. Still a 2-2 game.
  22. Letson records his first K on an inside dipping slider. One down. The runner swipes 2B in the process. Man on 2nd. One down. Bottom of 1st.
  23. 2 more K's for Cornielle. That's the minimum in two consecutive frames. Pitch count very manageable. Settling in quite nicely! Slider working really really well early now that he's back on top of things.
  24. 4-0 Shuckers after a weak Wilken groundout to 3B scored Made, Boeve k'd swinging (and once again looked uncomfortable in doing so) and Spain then pokes an 0-2 single into left field. Well hit pro hit there. Two come across.
  25. Eduardo Garcia will take his base at 1B and back fill at SS presumably. Man, this is ridiculous.
