  1. Man, rough outcome given how well the line up was hitting the ball. Is what it is. Baseball is such an enthrallingly weird game.
  2. I wouldn't get too far ahead of yourself here. Wilken is still leading the Southern League in HR balls. He's suffered two absurdly weird injuries the past two years. When he's healthy and right he's shown quite a bit at the Double-A level. They are all different players. We're lucky to have all of them. They offer different things.
  3. Burke is absolutely humming. Wilken and Adams are absolutely searching for their previous pre-injury form. IF these two find their strokes for the playoffs? Look out. Wilken goes down looking at a belt high heater in a 2-2 count. 0-for-4. Adams is 0-for-5 and has not looked good doing it.
  4. 3-run jack to straightaway CF. Made swinging bunt single. Pratt BB. Burke absolutely torches a breaking ball in a hitters count. 9-4 the Shuckers open back to a five-run lead.
  5. Blake Burke ladies and gentlemen.
  6. Another CS by one C Matthew Wood. Bowman works around the lead-off single to LF via K, CS, and K. Fantastic work by Bo.
  7. Shuckers go down via three fly outs in their half of the 8th. 6-4 and they head to the bottom half.
  8. Just like that, Bowman shows Manfredi how it's done. Strikes out the first batter faced on three pitches. Two swinging misses on outside sliders. Fantastic work. 6-4 and they are on to the 8th inning.
  9. Two run single into LF in a 2-2 count. Adams can't get to it to his glove side. Hit relatively hard. He hasn't gotten to either ball to his left - that was out of his reach. 6-4 game. Mercifully, Manfredi is pulled. Just truly ugly work from Mark tonight overall. Bo Bowman will come on in relief.
  10. Two down. Manfredi now plunks the next batter. What a terrible inning of work. 😀. You were up 6-1. Now you have the tying run aboard. Multiple walks. A HB. Bases now juiced. 6-2 Shuckers lead. He misses low and inside on the first pitch for another ball. He may not even make it out of this inning. He's at pitch 28 here.
  11. Luke Adams botches a game of pickle. He's had a really rough night tonight. They'll credit the error to Pratt on the throw back to 3B. Not having it. Adams has to do better and chase the runner down further. You chase him back the base before when he's leaning. That's on Adams. Runner advances to 2B on the force out and throwing error too. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down. And, Manfredi now walks the next batter on four pitchers. Ahhhh, yes. A classic 'one of those' Manfredi innings. They are fewer and far(er) between in 2025 but they still very much happen from time-to-time. Hopefully he can minimize damage here. Bases juiced. One down. Shuckers lead 6-1.
  12. After two scoreless innings with not a single base runner, leading 6-1, LHP Mark Manfredi has walked two to start his first inning of work in the bottom of the 7th. Zero down. Men on 1st and 2nd.
  13. Sounds win 8-1. Childers gets away with a 2-1 hanger dead center for the final out to the LF wall.
  14. A Spain sac fly, with two strikes, to the RF corner score the tagging 3B Brock Wilken. 6-1 Biloxi.
  15. Zamora, meanwhile, follows up with a double to the right CF gap and that's back-to-back doubles. Zamora now has a 9 game on base streak. He doesn't hit very much of anything for any semblance of power but Zamora has really had a solid season as he's greatly raised his floor as a prospect. 45th RBI. Sounds lead 8-1 in the 8th.
  16. EMJ has an 8-Game hitting streak. Really awesome to see him get hot here late in the season.
  17. Love seeing RHP Zach Peek come aboard with a clean relief inning after the Shuckers took the 5-1 lead the inning before. He closed it with a K. He got a nice sliding catch from one LF Zavi Warren as well. We are on to the 6th.
  18. This is my first time looking at this list in awhile. I'm going to give my patented "Man, there's a lot of depth players on this list I really like." I am prepared for losing most of these players and I'll be sad when it happens.
  19. On review, that was very much a full on swing triple. It just looked like a reach when I came back from screen 2. LOL. What a player. What a swing.
  20. Made follows with an improbable all hands, wrists and muscles for a wild reach poke triple (essentially) into deep right CF. That was an incredible poke. The ball caroms off the outstretched glove of the RF'er. That was something. 4-1 Shuckers. Amazing turn of events.
  21. Four straight hits. Spain sneaks a grounder past the diving 2B. 2-1 Shuckers.
  22. Warren follow suit with a liner single just beyond the reach of the leaping SS. That's a No-No to three consecutive pokes. Runners on the corners. Nobody down. 1-1 game.
  23. Who other than C Matt Wood to tie it? Deep gapper double to the right CF wall. 1-1 game just like that. Amazing.
  24. Lara then breaks up the no-no top of 5. Single into CF. Noice! Advances to 2B on a wild pick off throw to 1B.
  25. WIchrowski sees two more runners aboard in his 4th (75 pitches after 4 IP) but he is saved by a diving Lara snag on a shallow liner. He was playing in and got a great jump as well. And, well, he's Luis Lara as well. That helps. Shuckers still trail 1-0.
