  1. AND, he loses the lead. Hard hit single off the glove of the diving Blake Burke and into RF. 7-7 game. To Burke's right. That kind of night indeed. Meanwhile Cameron tripled with one down off old friend RHP Enoli Paredes. 7-4. Urias then hit into the game-ending DP. Sounds lose 7-4.
  2. Hard hit line out to RF and Spain corrals it. Two down. Runner at 2nd tags to 3B. Runners on the corners. Two down. 7-6 Shucker clinging.
  3. Roberts got a first out fly out to the LF corner. He's now allowed consecutive singles to LF. Two on. One down. 7-6 Shuckers clinging. Bottom of the 9th. Josh Spence will visit the mound.
  4. And, now the home plate ump blows a strike absolutely dead center in a 2-0 count. He runs someone barking in the Shuckers dugout. Brutal miss by Blue. Ugh. Now a 3-0 count unfairly for RHP Austin Roberts.
  5. We've lauded Doule-A C Matt Wood for his surge in CS %. Tonight is not that night. He has seen 7 SB cross his ledger. He's dropped numerous balls in transfers. He's held balls. He's thrown weakly to 2B. I opine he likely gets the night off tomorrow.
  6. Brutal night at the dish for SS Ethan Murray who leaves his 4th AB wearing the golden sombrero. The adjustment to Triple-A baseball has been unkind for Murray. Not a smooth transition.
  7. Upon review, it might have been an out? BUT, what happened to that old old baseball rule 'Tie goes to the runner'? Does it even exist any more? I'm crying over here. Crying. 😁
  8. Another poke for Made. Two hits in two games at Double-A. The young man keeps finding a way. He has a hit from the right side. He has a hit from the left side. Now, Black just got tossed after an ump, you guessed it, blew a call at 1B. He was safe. He very confidently called him out. That's two blown calls at the first base bag. But, hey, I'm used to ML umps blowing calls at 1B all the time.
  9. Ooof. With two down, runners on the corner, McGee surrendered a 1-1 three-run jack over the CF wall. That one stings. 7-3 deficit now. McGee will call it a night. The comebacker off his lower leg to put runners on the corner comes back to haunt him. Ouch.
  10. Quero K's on a change-up in the dirt in an 0-2 count with runners on 1st and 2nd. Wasted opportunity. That happens. That was just a poor swing decision. On to the 8th. Sounds trail 4-3.
  11. Nice work by McGee! He allows a single run on a sac fly. He then induces the infield pop out and K's the next batter. 4-3 Sounds trail. We'll definitely take that.
  12. Gasser walks in the tying run on a low inside sweeper after barely missing on an outside 95 mph heater - almost got the strike. Almost got the check swing strike. 3-3 game. RHP Easton McGee will inherit the bases loaded no out jam.
  13. This has not been Urias' best night throwing the white rat to first base. He just threw a hospital ball putting Seigler in harm's way on a sac bunt down the 3B line. That's two misfires to the 1B bag. And, now the bases are juiced with nobody down. 110 mph single. Absolte bloop goose snort into shallow LF. Then a sac bunt and poor throw. 3-2 game. Gasser is in a jam suddenly. Tough luck vintage baseball style.
  14. Made hits into a DP on a chopper over the mound to the 2B bag. Garcia immediately follows his 2-RBI single of his last AB with a double roped to the LF wall. Heck of a job filling in for Eduardo. Man on 2B. Two down. Burke to the dish. 7-6 Shuckers lead.
  15. Seigler doubles to the LF corner with one down in the bottom of the 6th. Meanwhile, Lara gets aboard for the 4th time in his evening. Another single. Man aboard to start the Shuckers half of the 6th.
  16. Mendoza sees two runs cross in his first inning of work. He ends the frame with a swinging K. It's 7-6 Shuckers as they head to the top of the 6th.
  17. Matt Wood has done a very good job of dropping transfers to attempt to nab runners tonight. This is a flashback to his days as a Timber Rattler. He's been fantastic throwing runners out as a Shucker. Tonight is not one of those nights.
  18. Gasser throws three sweepers in a row. He gets his second K of his inning. I ask us: Why the heck is LHP Robert Gasser pitching as a Sound? Why is RHP Craig Yoho back in the Sounds bullpen? Mysterious pitching staff decisions afoot up in Milwaukee if you ask me. Both of these arms 'should' be eating innings for the Brewers. I personally don't see this as a hot take. This is pretty obvious baseball observation.
  19. This just in: Robert Gasser is still filthy. He gets a swinging K on that filthy here it is now it isn't breaking ball. Two down. Man on 1st. 3-2 Sounds in the top of the 6th. Gasser then threw a wild pick-off throw to 1B and Kelenic seemed to head first slide right into his lower leg. He will leave the game injured. May have been stepped on his right hand. Black is OK.
  20. 4 IP for Letson. 6 K. His lone real blemish the mini meltdown that led to the hanger that led to the Salami dong. Outside that sequence, he's had a really nice debut.
  21. Wilken rips a hard hit grounder off the glove of the diving SS. Garcia, who had advanced to 2B on a Burke ground out up the middle, scores on the play. That's three of the salami back in the Shuckers column. 7-4 they lead.
  22. Garcia, filling in for the injured Pratt, after Made k'd looking with two on, sends two across after a double steal. Lara and EBJ both cross home plate on a shallow liner to left CF for a 2-RBI single. 6-4 Shuckers they take the lead right back top of the 4th.
  23. Gasser does what Gasser does. Bobby Petrol puts the pump back in the holster. First pitch weak ground out to 1B. Threat ends. On to the bottom of the 5th. 3-2 Sounds.
  24. Cornielle will come just shy of five complete frames. He ends his night seeing an 0-2 count turn into a...you guessed it...free pass. He will finish at 4 2/3 IP. Pitch count ends at 88. Sounds leading 3-2 with runners on 1st and 2nd.
  25. Welp. It was great while it lasted. Letson walks the next batter on five pitches. Bases juiced. He falls behind again to the next hitter to a 2-0 count. And, the game one nemesis in Gladney smashes a grand salami. It's suddenly a 4-4 game. That was what we call a dead center hanger. Poor pitch. Damage done. That ball was absolutely crushed.
