  1. Cornielle is showing out versus the Kernels tonight in a tight 0-0 contest as we head to the bottom of the 7th: 7 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 9 K Yowza! His last two starts have reminded us all of why we were so excited in 2022. A fantastic late-season development.
  2. Mudcats are not slowing their roll after the post-season birth. They just put up a 5-spot in 7th and now lead 7-1. Bam!
  3. Indeed! Enjoy those moments @TURBO! I know you will.
  4. - RHP Jeison Pena has been activated by the Carolina Mudcats - RHP Blake Whiting was placed on the 7-Day IL by the Carolina Mudcats
  5. Yikes. Hopefully, the Brewers know something we don't. Hopefully the drop in Velo was indeed intentional. He didn't look anywhere close to ready to open up. Geee, it sure would have been real nice if a single Wisconsin Sports Media member, you know, showed up during his pre-game availability for his second outing! In the post-game pod Chris Moehring mentioned not a single member was there to ask him anything. This is actually a pretty big storyline for the Brewers - near-term but long-term even more so. That was a big fail.
  6. I certainly don't disagree with you there. Man, that'd be a reallllllly odd decision. I would have to think they are going to send him to Arizona. They have a strength camp upcoming etc. He can simply work on mechanics and motion and slowly opening up the arm...in rehab terms.
  7. With 9 Games remaining in an absurdly tight and competitive playoff chase, it is officially time to celebrate the Shuckers bullpen. I don't know how long it's even been since a worthy celebration, here, but it is overdue: Starting at Game 1 of this ongoing win streak (Saturday, August 26th) - a 6-2 victory over already playoff bound Pensacola - we have seen the following collective production: 32 1/3 IP 25 H 15 BB 36 K 2 HBP 1 WP 2 Pitch Clock Violations (it's 2023, afterall) 6 ER (for those of you at home, that's a measley 1.67 cumulative ERA) 1.2371 WHIP 10 Holds 3 Wins 5 Saves (Robinson, Vennarro, and Lazar) 0 Losses Just absurdly good at the most crucial point in their season. This is deserving of a massive round of applause...they're going to need to keep it going if they want to take this division from the also red hot Biscuits. We see you Shuckers bullpen. And, we salute you.
  8. Holy cow, Charlotte just beat Durham 4-3. Did not see that coming. What an absolutely huge comeback tonight for the Sounds. They continue to climb the mountain that is the journey to the top of the second half International League leaderboard. There are NINE teams within 4.5 G of first place. NINE! 4.5 GB of Lehigh Valley and Durham with 14 games to play.
  9. Thank the baseball gods they will eliminate each other head-to-head. Really fortunate result for the Shuckers to dictate terms at their ballpark - you can't ask for more than that. I'm still salty about the straight cancelled game that gave Montgomery a half game. Screw that!🤣
  10. SO fitting that the game ended with another Nicasia defensive gem! He is so underrated out there. Legit a really good defender with a plus arm to boot.
  11. Charlotte just put up a deuce in the 8th inning to tie it 3-3 in Charlotte. They will now head to Xtras. IF the Knights should somehow win this one, the Sounds will have gained a game in the traffic jam atop the International League second half leaderboard. They currently sit 5.0 GB pending the result in Charlotte. Go Knights!
  12. WOW, Harrison singles to RF and the Sounds walk it off 7-6. They scored all seven runs in the 7th-thru-9th innings with the 8th frame being the big 4-run tying rally. It's gonna be a 4-0 night on the Farm!
  13. Bases juiced and one down for the Sounds. Bottom 9th. 6-6. Monte Harrison at the dish with a 1-0 count.
  14. INF Abraham Toro just smacked a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the 8th. It's a four-run inning amd we are tied 6-6 suddenly! Tyler Black to the dish to try and send him across for the improbable late lead.
  15. Clarke three run bomb (23rd of the year - 73 RBI) the Shuckers lead the Barrons 8-1 in the top of the 7th. Chourio is the first Double-A player aince at least 2005 with a 20+ HR / 40 + SB season. AND with Montgomery winning their third straight va Chattanooga, 8-2, the Shuckers will again hold serve and remain 0.5 GB if this holds. This closing series has the recipe to be a real banger final six games in Biloxi. I hope they fill that ballpark!
  16. Just so incredibly proud of this Mudcats team and manager Victor Estevez and his staff. BUT, let's not forget the ACL and Carolina post-season bonanzas are also a direct reflection of the International Free Agent classes and the continued efforts in the DSL. The Brewers have put in the work and the results are showing in a BIG way in 2023.
  17. Chourio K in his first AB. 1-for-10 at Birmingham as we look to complete the mid-series game 3 tonight. Let's hope he can re-discover one of those sizzling hot streaks in time for Montgomery at Home!
  18. Up 7-0 entering the top of the third inning, RHP Joseph Hernandez has walked, given up a run-scoring double, and walked. Men on 1st and 2nd. No outs. 7-1 T-Rats. And he gets a key DP ball! Man on 3B. Two down now.
  19. Galindez now has 9 K thru 5 IP. The Red Sox did manage a hit in the fifth. Still knotted 0-0. Tight one. Galindez has been a bit of a late season promotional revelation and I am absolutely into it!
  20. After five complete innings, the Kannapolis Cannonballers lead Lynchburg 7-4. Meanwhile, in Salem the Mudcats are knotted at 0-0 in the top of the 5th and RHP Yorman Galindez has not conceded a single hit with 6 K's.
