  1. Another run scores on a misplayed gather off an Anderson grounder up the middle. Handelfry inexplicably also rounded third base and was thrown out by 9 feet. What the heck was that?! Goodness, the youth on the base paths this season has been a sight. 2-0 and we head to the bottom of the 1st.
  2. Handelfry ropes a double down the RF line. 1-0 Mudcats. 2-2 pitch. Hanging change-up. Just over the leaping 1B.
  3. Ebel pokes a 2-2 single - workmanlike professional poke there - sits back on a belt high outside change-up and pokes a flare into shallow LF. Beautiful swing. Just as beautiful live as it is on tape. He is extremely well balanced in his approach - something I struggle with with Payne who has a lot of leaving the batters box in every swing.
  4. Ragsdale steals 2B and he beat that throw by a good 3-4 steps. He has some wheels.
  5. Ragsdale works a five pitch walk. The bat did not leave the shoulders. And, well, it didn't need to.😅
  6. Payne K's on four pitches. Swing and misses on consecutive change-ups. Ugly AB.
  7. We have our game one Mudcats line up card for their road tilt at Salem (Red Sox). It's kind of amazing, to me, with Peña; Made; and Adamczewski all in Wisconsin this line up card still looks packed with run-producing potential. We need to see Bitonti and Di Turi restoke their flames at the dish - both young men are extremely capable as we know. SS Brady Ebel is indeed debuting and will be batting third. Bitonti is playing 1B as per usual and batting in the clean-up spot. He'll be protected by DH Handelfry Encarnacion. RHP Melvin Hernandez will look to wow us yet again with his extremely impactful off-speed tools. The Muddies still cling to their first place position atop their division but Fredericksburg and Fayetteville are indeed nipping at their heels.
  8. We don't have the line up card as of yet but let's all take a minute to Honor the upcoming last regular season Carolina Mudcats home stand at the end of August. This we will be the final Mudcats games we will ever witness in Zebulon. Special 'Historic Pricing' awaits any and all: Let's hope the young Muddies send the fans home with something to remember...
  9. It's a Brewers 40-Man party for the Sounds tonight. We see Black and Berroa are back in the line-up after being sent back down. LHP Robert Gasser is back on the bump and reportedly is aiming for 4.0 IP tonight. Hoskins begins his rehab assignment while Bauers will continues his. I think the question we might all be asking, regardless, is: Can C Jeferson Quero continue his torrid work at the dish? We all lovingly recall his two massive nukes at Durham last week. Let's hope for more tonight!
  10. Like Adamczewski above, OF Hedbert Perez is immediately in the Shuckers line-up upon promotion. He won't be batting clean-up but he will also be filling the DH role. Can 2B Eric Brown Jr. catch any amount of fire before the post-season? The top four in this line-up had a fantastic road series at Columbus. Here's hoping for more. 1B Blake Burke is feasting on Southern League pitching. Let's see if he can feast on some Southern Home cooking tonight! Which part of the roller coaster will we be on with RHP Alexander Cornielle tonight?
  11. As others on our board fretted about "Adamczewski is blocked at every level..." or "Where will he play?!", I tried to remind you all on more than one occasion: there is not a player or a bat blocking Josh from anything. Up from Low-A and debuting with the Timber Rattlers smack dab right into the clean-up spot. With Hedbert promoted to Double-A, we see super-utility Luiyin Alastre filling in in right field. The CF Daniel Guilarte experiment continues. RHP Travis Smith will look to build on his High-A learnings to see if he can get an uptick in his K numbers. The results have been solid regardless:
  12. I see Patrick have up another long ball? That is six HR allowed over his last three starts Triple-A to today. Somewhere, in 'Merica, RHP Matt Bush weeps nostalgic tears.
  13. What a fantastic way to close the season for the DSL Brewers Gold. They throttle the DSL Orioles Black 13-3. Montilla stays red hot. And, my mini movement to get OF Kenny Fenelon's season BA above 0.200 works like a charm. I take absolutely zero credit but we had a great time rooting Him on. And, by 'we', I mean I did. Sighs. Onward! Fenelon finishes his season with a 2-for-5, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 HR, 1 3B. 1 BB, 1 K line. 0.206 BA on the season with a 0.703 OPS. Heck of a way to finish! Lotta great scoreless bullpen outings as well in an end-of-season 'Get your Pitches Out!' buffet:
  14. - 1B/DH Rhys Hoskins was assigned to the Nashville Sounds from the Milwaukee Brewers to begin his rehab assignment - RHP Michael Fowler was assigned to the Carolina Mudcats from the Nashville Sounds -LHP Jose Meneses was assigned to the ACL Brewers from the Carolina Mudcats -
  15. The Shuckers with some roster shuffling today: SHUCKERS MAKE FOUR ROSTER MOVES PRIOR TO SERIES OPENER BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following transactions; — RHP Abdiel Mendoza promoted to Triple-A Nashville — C Eric Martinez transferred to Rookie-level ACL Brewers — OF/DH Hedbert Perez promoted from High-A Wisconsin — C Víctor Torres promoted from High-A Wisconsin
  16. Lotttttta fun 'r' tongue roll on that nombre mexicano! Maybe I'll give it a go in our off-season system recap numero dos...
  17. Oh man that pre-DSL Mudcats blitz-to-ACL first month crush was a time. I can't even fathom if we had hit on another International class the way we did in 2024. I was definitely hoping for it! 😅
  18. RHP Chad Patrick gave up 5 long balls in his last two Nashville starts. Lotta hangers. Not wall scrapers. Here's hoping he was just 'working on things' and he gives us an 2025 MLB Logan Henderson type performance.
  19. OF Kenny Fenelon with a 2-for-4, 1 2B morning. With one game remaining Kenny has reached the Mendoza Line. Sitting at exactly a 0.200 BA. Been a long climb back! Let's root him on to stay here or above after tomorrow's contest.
  20. Really nice to see OF Frandy LaFond catch a little fire as the season comes to a close. He's gotten on base in 14-of-40 August PA's. OPS is now above 0.900 on the month with his home run today.
  21. Perhaps the most intriguing field player sample we've seen all DSL summer is first year 17-year-old Doninican OF Alexander Frias. He began the year injured but has shown out since his return. Two more pokes thru five frames today (2-for-2, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 SB, 1 CS). Looking back in January post-signing Baseball America had this to say: And, as per usual, our man @Spencer Michaelis has been on this scent for quite a bit: This is definitely a player we will be keeping our eyes on.
  22. Those Mudcats are going to need Di Turi and Bitonti to lead that offense. They have the talent to do so . Really pushing for them to fill the void.
  23. As noted HERE, Adamczewski was informed he was packing his bags and heading to Appleton after yesterday afternoon's performance. He's impacted winning everywhere he's played. Let's hope he does the same up North.
  24. Just a tickle. Confirmed overnight. HERE
  25. OK. I heard strong whispers last night and have now vetted this through proper channels in Zebulon and Appleton so can break this here: - INF Josh Adamczewski has been assigned to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from the Carolina Mudcats. The team begins a series in Beloit Tuesday against the Marlins affiliate.
