  1. Sure, I'm not absolving Shoeless Joe of anything. But given that it happened over 100 years ago and didn't harm any human beings, I also don't really care.
  2. I could not care less about Pete Rose. He seemed like a pretty straightforward creep of a human being. I'm far more interested in seeing Shoeless Joe get into the Hall.
  3. It can hurt but what is more likely is that it delays their development. In extreme cases, it can really get into someone's head and they never develop. Would they have developed otherwise? Hard to say but it's possible. But what can more easily happen is that if you push a guy two levels and he isn't ready, he's so hopeless out there that he falls into bad habits that later need to be unlearned. Or he's so bad he gets benched and no longer receives the reps he should be getting. Either way, his development isn't only paused, it's pushed backward.
  4. Congratulations to Fastball Freddy!
  5. I turned on the game and literally two seconds later Chourio misses that fly ball. You’re welcome, I guess?
  6. 1. Create Your Blog When you click the Blogs section on the top menu, you'll be taken to a list of most the most recent entries from our community. At the top of this feed you'll see the "Create a Blog" button. Click it and you'll be asked to enter a few high-level details: the title of your blog within the site (i.e., "John's Brewers Blog" or something more clever/creative), a brief description, and the category it will belong to (if you're not sure, just pick "General"). To hop on over to the blog index page now, click here. 2. Publish Your First Entry Congrats, you have a blog! Now give people a reason to come check it out. On your blog page, you'll see a red button on the right-hand side, "Add Blog Entry." Click it to draft your content. Here you can either compose within the CMS, or copy-and-paste what you've written elsewhere (Word, Google Doc, notes app, etc.). You'll also be prompted to choose a category for your post (select "Use an existing entry category" and pick the one that fits best, or create a new one). You can either publish immediately or schedule it to go live in the future. 3. Support Your Position with Stats We now support copying and pasting Baseball-Reference and FanGraphs stat tables directly into the site! Just pop on over to this blog and find out how to do it! 4. Tips to Make Your Blog Look Great First, upload an image! Just below the blog entry area, you will see a Featured Photo bar. Grab a photo and drag it into that space, which will upload the image, feature it, and make it more likely your blog will be noticed (and commented on). 5. Promote and Keep Blogging Brewer Fanatic has a naturally built-in audience of passionate Brewers fans, so your content will likely get some views on its own. But spread the word! Tell your friends to check it out and share it on your social media profiles. Keep writing regularly to hone your skills and grow your readership. Those who post consistently high-quality content in the blogs often get the opportunity to move up to the (paid) front page.
  7. Yeah, I just don't see the Cardinals having enough to stay in the race. They're a non-entity to me in the discussion, especially when you look at the NL West and NL East. If the Brewers are faced with a wild card berth, there's going to be a ton of competition from those divisions.
  8. As long as the Brewers are hovering around .500, I'm not super-concerned about their playoff chances. As this article highlights, HOW they're hovering around .500 is the most concerning aspect of the team. They badly need a shot in the arm, hopefully they can find one soon.
  9. Nice @ErnieRilesBrianGiles, it is in fact Clark.
  10. As the Crew heads toward a series in Cleveland, here's where their bullpen stands.
  11. I'm not above criticising Arnold but right now feels WAYYYYYY too early. I don't think he traded Williams too late, I think he traded him at *exactly* the right time. He received a good return after using Williams to help the Brewers make the postseason in 2024. And he's doing all of this amidst a forced drop in payroll. I'm sure he would have LOVED the idea of spending $10m to go find a real third baseman. That wasn't an option for him this offseason.
  12. Yeah, I wasn't able to watch those first two starts but watched some of the last two. I just found the 1:1 ratio to be surprising.
  13. Get up to speed with the Brewers' bullpen usage over the past five days!
  14. Hall and Ashby have been frustrating but there is still a chance for both of them. Hall has a lot of team control left and if his fastball can get back to where it was, he can be effective (though IMO out of the pen is the likely destination, which is disappointing). Ashby's contract is the risk you take with any pitcher, though it's hardly crippling the team. He's making a little less than $3.5m this season, which is about one-tenth of an Anthony Rendon.
  15. If you go to the forum index or front page of the site and scroll, there is a new row of images where you will find the name the player game. Also here is a direct link to the latest image. https://brewerfanatic.com/gallery/image/26-name-yer-brewer-may-7/
  16. At the very least I hope they only have Contreras catch once a series. He can DH more often while this heals.
  17. Indeed, it's Coop. By the way, this is the last time these will be posted in this manner in the forums. We're creating a new system for posting images that will launch soon.
