  1. It's just funny. Baseball is such a luck-based game on the individual level. Yes, it's frustrating to see competition get some breaks but it never lasts forever and it's not as if the Cubs will be pushed out of the postseason because of it.
  2. I saw that a Cubs fan recently screamed on Twitter about how lucky the Brewers are. Apparently this is "unfair" or something, I'm not really sure.
  3. A magic number thread on September 1st.
  4. That was a wild one yesterday but thanks to a kicked ball, the Brewers pulled out the win and bailed out Williams. Which is a good thing because today's pitching matchup is not awesome.
  5. If you'd like me to merge those accounts, just let me know via PM!
  6. Welcome to Brewer Fanatic and great username!
  7. I wanted to update everyone on a few things as we head into the stretch and what looks to be another October appearance by the Crew. First, Brewer Fanatic has been humming along very nicely. In July, we broke all traffic records dating back to the earliest data we have for BrewerFan.net in 2016. In August, we demolished every record we set in July. On August 31st, Brewer Fanatic had 11,900 visitors to the site. That's easily the most in the history of the site. So everything is all rosy there and we're super-excited as we head into the final month of the season. A Partnership with WTMJ This is new starting today but you'll see abbreviated Brewer Fanatic content over at WTMJ. In time, we hope to grow this partnership but should you see some of our content over there, know that it has been in the works for awhile and is yet another avenue we will get our dedicated writers the readership they deserve. Obviously, we're quite excited about this and something similar is what helped kickstart Twins Daily into the behemoth it is today. Here is the first example of such content: https://wtmj.com/news/2023/09/01/brewers-fanatic-survived-wrigley-field-craig-tember/ About Site Bugs & Issues I know some of you are rolling your eyes at my lack of responsiveness over site bugs and issues. My hope is that I will be able to spend a significant chunk of the offseason fixing some of these errors and polishing up the site experience. Now that we run three sites, I have to admit to myself that the sites need to go into maintenance mode during the season, there's just too much for me to do on a daily basis. Once the season is over I will begin to whittle down on the significant list of issues that need repair and thanks for all of your patience with these issues. That's all I have for today, thanks for reading and GO CREW!
  8. You know, I think I just don't like the Phillies much.
  9. If the Brewers are desperate, I'd roll the dice on Black over Donaldson 11 times out of 10.
  10. I plan to address this more comprehensively during the off-season. There are a ton of moving parts that may not be obvious that make implementing some of the smaller aspects of dark mode exceedingly frustrating.
  11. Twins fans aren't happy when they discover they've woken up in the morning and everything goes downhill from there. They're the most miserable SOBs I've ever seen. None of those players were going to reach the Twins. I held out a little hope for Renfroe but none of the pitchers. Yeah, it kinda sucks Cleveland got them but Cleveland has a brutal September ahead of them while the Twins have a much easier schedule.
  12. My understanding is that he was widely disliked within the Twins organization, so much so that grumblings from Twins staff were said out loud in the press box at Target Field. I'd stay the **** away from Josh Donaldson, full stop.
  13. Meh. I see I watched one too many innings of the Twins game before flipping over. Looks like the wind is blowing out today?
  14. My cutoff for research is 16.47 seconds. It's a hard limit.
  15. We have some pretty big news to announce in coming days and I'm starting to believe we will move articles out of the Brewers forum entirely, possibly starting in 2024. We're seeing enough momentum in various regards that it's becoming possible, maybe even likely, to do so in the relatively near future.
  16. That was here, it was from Matt a few days ago.
  17. It's just a matter of when you first hit the forums. I clear out the older articles every morning but lately, it's been happening more like 8-10am because my kids are out of school right now.
  18. A win today doesn't guarantee a division title for the Brewers but it's a huge step in that direction. Being up five games with about 30 to play will win you a division the vast majority of the time.
  19. And the fact he ran like 25+ feet to get to it.
  20. Good lord, Turang. How'd he even get that close?
  21. Yeah, that was potentially a game-changing play.
  22. Well, that's one way to get out of an inning. No luck involved there, no siree.
  23. This should be a great pitcher's duel, which means it will probably end as a 10-9 barnburner.
  24. The Brewers are in the enviable position where they just have to avoid the sweep. Going 1-2 isn't optimal but it holds off the Cubs enough that their odds of winning the division should increase.
