    keep them through 2024, sure. But if you aren't going to try to win in 2023, you might as well start the reload now, so whatever players we acquire can overlap with our current prospects. There's no way we can improve upon Renfroe in 2023; or the only way to do it is if Wiemer comes up and is a rookie of the year candidate. Wiemer needs to at least start 2023 in Nashville. If you can get value for Taylor you trade him; a playoff team that loses an OF to injury might pay well during Spring Training; I'd rather develop the 4 AAA OFers than keep Taylor. The only way to trade Yelich is if you are adept at black magic.

    he's been a lot worse this year (.643 OPS).

    Going for it in 2023 makes sense. Sell at the trade deadline if we aren't a playoff team. Going for it in 2024 does not make sense, unless you've somehow gotten Woodruff and Burnes to sign extensions. I want more than a draft pick for them.

    I'd like to think we don't need to resort to "throw **** against the wall and see what sticks" phase. I mean Reyes and Monasterio are decent enough options as AAAA guys, but I don't want to count on one of them.

    Turang is a utility guy/2B until they move on from Adames. which could be at the trade deadline next year, if the Brewers suck. Name me one 3B they can sign or acquire cheaply. I'll wait. Unless you're on the dream train with me of signing Arenado, there's not really anyone available better than Peterson. Name me one available utility guy who can perform as well as Peterson. They don't exist. Brosseau, on the other hand, would be easy to replace.

    Half that many extra ABs moving up one spot in the order. Or maybe CC realized Adames was getting killed by BABIP, and figured that would even out.
