I completely agree with that state of mind. I think with the current talent we'll win about the same as last year, which is why I am advocating for adding a bat. The starting pitching is going to go through a rough patch at some point and we will fall out of contention quickly if we keep the same incredibly inconsistent offense. The thing is... that bat is currently at Biloxi, IMO. Hiura's bat looks ready. He fills the hole at second. Villar moves to short, gives a 150+ point boost to OPS out of that position. Use Miller at third until Shaw is healthy. When Shaw's OK, he takes third, Miller to short, Sogard cut. Villar was pretty poor at short when he played there. How much practice has he had there lately. Huira's numbers look fantastic, but he's in AA, and started the year in A+. He also has barely 2 months in the field. He really needs some time in the field to make sure his elbow hold up. A bump to AAA in mid-late July also seems like a reasonable possibility for him. Are there any other semi-recent examples where a batting prospect started the season in A ball and was advanced to MLB, especially in a pennant race, and continued to hit well?
