  1. This made me think of the 3TO and "Can Bill Hall Pitch?" threads. Ahh, the memories...
  2. I wonder if Mark A. will allow Melvin to be the one to do a "fire sale". Also, the thought of trading for some premium lower level pitching and then allowing the current Brewers pitching coaches to develop them is a bit frightening...
  3. I was there as well. Lopez was getting squeezed on the outside corner all game...and he and Coulter both seemed frustrated about it (as would I as well). Other observations: teams will run wild on the TRats until CC gets faster behind the dish. Taylor looks like a player that is a cut above the rest of the guys on the field. Roache also looks like a man among boys (even if the stats aren't showing it right now)...
  4. That was a "hit". From our vantage point he seems to be getting squeezed. Oh, and its now 1-0 TRats.
  5. At the Timber Rattlers game. Windy, cold and perfect for October baseball!
  6. @BrewCrewCritic: @jimrome #Padres fans are missing the fact that Quentin has been hit 116 times in his career and charged the smallest "offending" pitcher. This was my take that Jim Rome read on air...pretty sweet.
  7. At least none of the Brewers players have gotten hurt carrying a package of venison from Todd Helton...yet. I wouldn't rule it out with the luck of this team so far...
  8. I'm not a soccer fan but when I stopped on that channel last night I couldn't turn away...that was crazy! Looked like a lot of fun...
  9. ShutTheBuckUpJoe ‏@BrewCrewCritic I wonder if @mlb is going to file a lawsuit against McDonald's because they "might" have made Prince Fielder fat...? My take on the lawsuit...
  10. Mother nature needs a new prescription for Prozac...she's really getting on my nerves lately. I drive, on average, about 40k miles per year for work and the last couple of weeks have been hell!
  11. We have around 11" just west of Oshkosh. What a wet, sloppy mess this is...not sure why you don't have more in Oshkosh...
  12. Nope...no blue font. I honestly think Fielder was a big part of Parra's demise. Check the before and after stats for Parra...Fielders mugging changed him.
  13. I'm actually going to miss Parra. I'm on record in the past and several here have argued with me...but no matter how flukey it may be his career spiraled downward after Fielder attacked him in the dugout. It wasn't a fight as EDR alluded to...it was a mugging...pure and simple. I hated the princess named Fielder from that day forward and will rue the day when he gets too fat for baseball. Manny is a good young man, a very talented pitcher and I really hope he puts it all together for a team in the AL Central...with a chance to dot Princess between his fat freaking numbers.
  14. I was sitting in the Dew Deck for Russell Branyan's monster 480' homer vs. Greg Maddux. The homer was cool but the fans reaction was even better with Cubs fans in attendance. It was cheering, whoa...boo! Classic reaction. Weeks going Big Mac Land in St. Louis is a close second. I hate Cardinals fans but even they were cheering...
  15. Make sure you take a bunch of Purell with you as the park has a severe rat/mouse infestation. Look up Bay Beach time lapse (something close) and you will see a night vision video of thousands upon thousands of pests moving around the rides. The City of Green Bay has started a "birds of prey" program in the area just to help fix the issue. http://m.jsonline.com/newswatch/135333648.htm?p=2
  16. Can we block posters anymore?
  17. I agree Gobias...he really needs to get "injured" and sent down for a rehab stint. Indefinitely...
  18. Sorry Roco...from the Fox Valley. Otherwise I'd be all over this!!
  19. Where did the Zack Greinke agent talk go? That is way more pressing than Lawrie vs Braun IMO....
  20. I'm really beginning to be bugged by the Brewers. I think it's time for me to take a week or two off...
  21. I have worked in orthopedics for quite a long time and noted on my twitter feed that the training staff immediately did a stability test on his knee. I had a lot of people asking me not to jump to conclusions but it was 100% apparent that they were concerned with the stability of his ACL. Allowing him to jog to the dugout and take a swing in the batters circle is attributable to a high amount of adrenaline going through his system blocking out a good deal of the pain...and a young mans desire not to get pulled from a game. In my opinion the training staff handled this perfectly and there was no further damage that could have been done from a little jog and one swing. You have to let the athlete tell you what hurts and what doesn't feel right. He felt ok for jogging...but the rotation allowed by the torn ACL was felt during a swing...
  22. When I put the post up I was particularly focusing on the amazingly high k rates for a couple of of everyday players. While the season is young, I was looking specifically at Weeks having a 36% strikeout rate over his first 50 at bats when he is at around 26.5% for his career. While the whole "a k isn't necessarily a bad thing" argument is an entirely different can of worms it just feels like he is striking out at an amazingly high rate. I'll revisit the topic in another month and a half when he is getting closer to the 200 ab range and see how wrong I was the wonder about this.
  23. How many ab's are required to drop the "small sample" tag? 50? 75? 100? I've noticed some trends from the Brewers hitters this year and would like to comment on them but don't want the "small sample size police" to arrest me...
  24. I'm impressed as hell with Gamel as he has done everything that he has been asked to do. I also really appreciate the fact that he keeps his head down and runs hard on every ground-out...something that I don't think he would have done a couple of years ago. Basically, it seems like he "gets it" these days. Also - he is one of the players on this team that I will stop what I'm doing just to watch his AB...
  25. I'm hoping that RRR kicks Doug Melvin's dog or something on the next homestand...maybe that, instead of his terrible managing, will get him fired.
