  1. After being voted as the Brew Crew’s MVP in 1979 where he won the AL’s gold glove as a right fielder and hit 0.321/0.414/0.573/0.987 with 28 HRs, 101 RBIs, and a 5.6 WAR he broke his hand in August 1980. During the 1980 Winter Meeting he was traded to the Cardinals in the aforementioned trade for Fingers, Vuckovich and Simmons. In 1981 with a wrist and elbow injury he was never the same, except one last magical year with the Padres in 1982 (ironically) where he hit 0.289/0.388/0.472/0.860 with 16 HRs and a 5.9 WAR. BTW the Megill comment was was a verse in the Beatles Rocky Racoon song on their White Album.
  2. Milwaukee has too small of a population and is too close to Chicago to support a NHL franchise
  3. CHS Field is much better than the old Midway Stadium next to the Fairgrounds but I agree with you 100% it is a great park. However, since the Saints changed from an independent league team to the Twins AAA affiliate, it seems less enjoyable. Remember Veeck’s and Bill Murray’s motto, “Fun is Good.”
  4. I’m sticking with my original prediction, sorry.
  5. Last week a reporter asked Douglas if he would be interested in returning to the Packers. His response was, “ No, they have Melton at corner.” Seems like there no chance of him coming back.
  6. I agree with Sveumrules anywhere between 53rd and 48th street between Wisconsin and Bluemound, if you don’t mind the short hike. It’s been a couple of decades since I walked that route to County Stadium but it worked well, not sure if parking restrictions have changed since the 80’s though. I had a girlfriend that lived on 50th and Wisconsin and always parked in her driveway, but after we broke up that was always a go to neighborhood behind her house. Brings back a lot of memories. Have a great time buddy. Go Brew Crew.
  7. Garrett Mitchell has injured his left shoulder once AGAIN. Poor guy can’t catch a break. Too brittle.
  8. You just beat me to this comment. Uribe should definitely be the closer. Megill is much better in the setup role compared to closing.
