  1. Historically it has been this way for decades.
  2. Suzuki 9 Chourio. 6 Tucker 9 Yelich 5 PCA 9 Hoskins 4 Kelly 7 Contreras 3 Busch 6 Turang 3 Cubs top 5 HR batters vs. Brewers. Anyone who believed the Brewers were going to have a better record than the Cubs were obviously dreaming. The next several years the Counsell & the Cubs are going to kick the Brewers arse.
  3. Maybe before his shoulder injury, however I believe that ship has sailed as a starter. Maybe he could work out as a reliever, multiple innings or 7 th inning but probably not more than that.
  4. This looks like a pretty rough schedule with series losses to the Cubs, Astros, Rays, Guardians, Red Sox and Phillies (?). 12- 16 with their hitting and BP still not living up to their potential.
  5. It seriously might be time to send Yoho back down to Louisville for some extra seasoning rather than having him pitch in the majors.
  6. Even the best NFL “deep threat” receivers such as Bob Hayes, Paul Warfield, James Lofton, A.J. Brown and Justin Jefferson caught 6 yard passes on 3rd down. Every deep threat receiver in NFL history caught short yardage passes, therefore they are both.
  7. You said he wasn’t a deep threat, but a possession receiver! A possession receiver is typically not referred to as a deep threat. Here is your direct quote, ”What we were missing was that HR threat.”
  8. Definitely a reach middle 3rd/early 4th round on most draft sites. Walker LT replacement.
  9. Welcome to the Snapper and Brewerfan show. YIKES!!! Please DM each other.
  10. Trade down.
  11. None. The point I was trying to make was that during large segments of the season there have been multiple players (usually 2-3) that have been mired into slumps simultaneously, not the same players but different (Chourio, Mitchell, and Ortiz then Yelich, Contreras, Ortiz and Hoskins). It’s never 1 or 2 players slumping at the same time but 3 or 4. At least Frelick and Turang have been more or less consistent all season. Also a very recent trend has been scoring >7 runs per game then followed by 0-2 runs a game. Very frustrating in my humble opinion. I hope my initial comment makes more sense with my further explanation.
  12. The ninth inning has been a microcosm of the Brewers the last several weeks. Mitchell and Chourio strike out and then Yelich with a ground out. And the problems don’t just stop there. throw in Ortiz and whoever is playing third base that day and half the Brewers lineup has been a black hole. It’s a miracle the Brewer’s record is above 0.500. You can’t send 50% of your lineup down to Nashville.
  13. I believe who and when they draft a CB will depend greatly what they intend to do with their 5th year player options on May 1st. They can decide to extend Walker and Wyatt another year and pay ~$28.5M or renegotiate both contracts multiple years. Gutey mention the other day at his presser tat he wants to keep them both past 2026 which would free up more money in 2025. This would allow them to retain my dark house starter at CB in 2025, Jaire Alexander. I still find it odd that if Gutey was going to get rid of Jaire he would have done it by now. Either way we should know in the next week how the defensive backfield will play out in 2025 by May 1. I just don’t see the current CBs they have in-house will bode well for their defense without selecting a CB in either the first or second round, unless Gutey has a better plan.
  14. The Bird (Fidrych) blew out his shoulder in his next season. He really was an exciting player in ‘76. Got to see him pitch twice that year. Typically pitched to sellout crowds after May. The most entertaining player I’ve ever seen in the MLB.
  15. Come on Murphy don’t be an idiot for the 2nd time thi week.
  16. Maybe the next 3 relief pitchers will do better.
  17. Mammoth homers and Colorado is true for >90% of MLB players. As mentioned the ground ball rate has been a mammoth concern for many years. With at least 3 more years until his contract expires, I believe Arnold (or whomever the future GM will be) would do well to offload his contract, as now about 40-50% of clubs would view it as a reasonable salary.
  18. I know exactly how he is doing by looking at his stats 0.143/0.262/0.321, -0.2 WAR, 77 0PS+. Not exactly good
  19. I would bat Yelich at 7 or 8 in the lineup and have him sit for a couple of games, too. Looks like he might need some extra batting practice. I don’t know why fans are upset at this series loss, the Diamondbacks are the better team and playing at home.
  20. Jinx. Shouldn’t have written this after seeinghis performance Saturday night.
  21. Has there been any word that Yelich has not recovered from his back surgery? Could be why he has hit so poorly so far this season.
