Looks like the Brewer’s FO brass believes they have the roster it takes to win the World Series this season. I sure hope they’re right.

During the 1981 winter meetings Sandberg almost became a Brewer per Daniel Okrent in his book “Nine Innings.” Harry Dalton was offered Sandberg in 3 for 1 deal with the Phillies for Mike Caldwell, however Harry wanted to replace Sandberg with Julio Franco in the trade and the Phillies turned him down. This is definitely my favorite all time Brewer book about the ‘82 season.

What MLB fans fail to realize is that the owners view of success is making the largest profit possible. It isn’t winning a World Series or making the playoffs (although winning will lead to a larger profit). It all comes to the bottom line, unless they are so filthy rich several extra million of dollars doesn’t matter to these billionaires. -

They’re not sexy enuf. They don’t hit more than 2 HRs a game. Another meaningless ESPN poll. 1. They are not a coastal team. 2. They are not from a city with a massive population. 3. They are not a team that been an also-ran for decades. They always pander to the populations that have $$$.

But he has been magnificent defensively. Definitely a top 5catcher in that regard. Remember the catch of that foul pop up on Friday? He has also greatly improved in calling pitches, too.

Not only is Monastero a big step down defensively, he’s a step down as a hitter as well. Also the day Hoskins returns is the same day we cut Bauers for good.

Nope! Wouldn’t include Quero the way Contreras is playing. Catchers are too valuable.

It’s just an exhibition game that has little meaning. Just look at the way virtually every player treats it. My God, it is nothing more than a spring training game and another way to make more money. If they really cared they could give all all-star generated money to something that really matters like the Texas Hill country floods, rather than line their own pockets. Greed, it really is sad, how much money is enough.
