  1. Bill Hall has to be somewhat discouraged after they called up a guy from AAA to be the DH while Hall rides the pine some more.
  2. I can't argue with the pick but I think we will regret not taking Bailey.
  3. It seems to me that outfielders have been playing deeper against Overbay to cut off the gap and limit his doubles, has anyone else noticed this?
  4. I'll toss my 2 cents in here. Dodger hitters are teeing off on Hendrickson's fastball. There have been 3 balls ripped out of the park and just foul. Better get that curveball working.
  5. Nice going scoop. that is a sure jinx. Hello 25 wins.
  6. Good thing we have 4 outfielders, 3 bat LHm and one doesnt really bat at all. Good luck flailing away fellas! Here's to a Matt Wise no-no and an unearned run to win the game.
  7. Check that, it is Oliver's evil twin Odalis on the mound today. Either way, it will be tough to get runs.
  8. Well, if Hall could get more starts at SS I think this lineup might work well 1. Pods CF 2. Spivey 2b 3. Jenkins LF 4. Ginter 3b 5. Overbay 1b 6. Hall SS 7. Grieve RF 8. Moeller C I really wish Ginter could cut down on the Ks, maybe hitting in front of Overbay he could get more fastballs. What do you think?
  9. I agree Chris, I'd have to guess that this is Obie's last stand...unless of course Capuano is out for a time. Saenz needs to stay in AA, Bring Hendrickson up, get Cappy healthy and lets go into June with a decent rotaion.
  10. One More OUt!!! Lets get this guy!!
  11. Why is Clark on deck? It was a pretty creative move by Ned. PH Clark in the 9 hole for Sheets. Kieschnick was in the bullpen warming up so he couldn't hit. Clark then went into RF and Kiesch hit 3rd in the inning, taking Grieves place. I liked that move.
  12. Have we successfully stolen a base yet this series? We are just giving away runners it seems. Nice hit by Grieve.
  13. Holy Batting Order Shake-up Batman!! I like this new look. I think Grieve will get on base twice today. Why does our offense take the day off when Sheets starts? I think we'll finally get to 3 over .500. I think Weaver might get smacked around a bit.
  14. Geoff Jenkins has zero power. I feel another double play now. EDIT - ok a walk. Now Keith Gimper - redeem yourself!!
  15. Colby - you answered your own question. What makes us think that we could get Scott home from 3rd with one out when we couldnt get Jenks home from third with no outs one inning earlier. Having Hall bunt is a 50/50 call so I won't complain about it but...
  16. Your 2004 Milwaukee Brewers - Doing everything we can to NOT win in extra innings. I thought Lo Duca was not a good defensive catcher, but he keeps throwing our guys out.
  17. See my post about 2 or 3 above, I said Ginter why does thou suck so bad. That first pitch he took looked pretty good, then he pops up. Once there was one out, I say squeeze.
  18. It's official, we don't want to win. What is the downside of hitting for Moeller in that situation? I had ZERO confidence that he'd hit the ball out of the IF.
  19. Keith Ginter and Chad Moeller, why do thou suck so much? Runner on third, nobody out and these two bums can't even put the ball in play? Let's go Grieve.
  20. Well Capuano out, with what sounds like a possible shoulder injury. If there are two things that drive me crazy and that I have little patience for they are walking batters and constantly being injured. This guy already had TJ surgery, then a leg problem, and now as just reported, a triceps cramp. Welcome to the Jeff D'Amico club Chris.
  21. I just got a glimpse of tomorrow's lineup card. we are facing another tough lefty and in response Yost is going with 1. Brady Clark CF 2. Bill Hall SS 3. Junior Spivey 2b 4. Brady Clark LF 5. Lyle Overbay 1b 6. Brady Clark RF 7. Keith Ginter 3b 8. Chad Moeller C Ned said he plans to use the new "ghost runner" rule if Brady gets on and then has to bat again. Not a bad idea, at least it will be harder to tell if the ghost runner is tagged out when trying to steal.
  22. re: Brady Clark getting thrown out at second base... Good to see we have the NL's most feared 6 hole hitter in today's lineup once again. Maybe he can ground into more double plays, or better yet, get thrown out stealing again. Brady Clark has to be about the worst person on the team at stealing bases. What is he? Like 1 for 8 this year?? I hope he is in the starting lineup again tomorrow.
  23. Good to see we have the NL's most feared 6 hole hitter in today's lineup once again. Maybe he can ground into more double plays, or better yet, get thrown out stealing again. Brady, you are a great reserve outfielder, but you are not a platoon outfielder...I know it isn't your fault and I will not hold it against you, but sheesh...
  24. Well, out of that jam, now Grieve, Bennett, Durrington? or Kiesch? then back to the top. Lets get some freakin runs!!!
