  1. All the more reason to put Gwynn (who's bat I am not a fan of) in CF, Braun in LF and Hall, a middle IF type, at 3b.
  2. I think Clara is a great name. Beats the heck out of trendy names like anything that rhymes with -aiden or Grace or Madison, or Eva/Ava/Ella/Isabella. Not that there is anything wrong with those names, just that in grade school there will be a half dozen other kids with the same name. Great choice for a name.
  3. Just to clear up some things that were said about Prior and guaranteed money. If the Cubs non-tender him, then he is a FA and can sign for market value, the 20% rule only applies to players offered arbitration. So once he is a FA, the market will dictate what he gets. That being said, I doubt he is ever a productive ML pitcher again.
  4. Sure there are, the ESPN boards, NHL boards, other independent message boards. Sometimes, its just nice to be able to go to one place to do all of your sports talk.
  5. Since it is banned on this board and there isnt a post in the lambeauleap.net college football forum in over 2 weeks, I was wondering where a good place to go to talk Badger football is. Also, why is it ok to talk Badger Hockey and Badger Basketball here, but not football?
  6. Taken from here: Linkage. It always about getting deeper into our pockets...just like when Uncle Bud was running the show. What a scam! Oh well. With Nedly back and the 9% increase I guess it will just be single games next year, no way I'm renewing the 20 pack. You'd be crazy not to, unless you've decided you no longer like Brewers baseball. I dont think existing season ticket prices went up more than 2-3% across the board.
  7. The Cherries? I can only imagine what that might mean for your prospects of being promoted. They're like the D-Rays when it comes to promoting talent. Slow and deliberate. Good Luck.
  8. Red Sox over Angels in 4 Indians over Yankees in 4 D'Backs over Cubs in 5 Phillies over Rockies in 3 Red Sox over Indians in 6 Phillies over D'Backs in 5 Red Sox over Phillies in 6
  9. "These Are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs is a good one "Today" By Smashing Pumpkins "Ain't It The Life" by Foo Fighters
  10. The concerns I have are Braun's errors and BB:K ratio as well as Hardy's errors and BB:K ratio. Those both need to improve.
  11. Nice, but my credit is in the toilet right now, so getting any kind of loan will be great. Dont worry, things are getting better, which is why I can afford to make payments on a car finally.
  12. The problem threads that arent even worth your time replying to is that people who make them never know that, they just assume I didnt see it, so here I am. This is a terrible idea. Santana is awesome, the best pitcher in the game, but giving up Braun for him is stupid in the long run (i.e. after 2008).
  13. Different type of car I am checking out - Saab 9-3. Something like a something 2001-2003. There seem to be a bunch of different types and I know nothing about them (my mother in law has one that I have driven a lot, so I do have experience driving them and I like them a lot). But on cars.com, specifically this link, has 9-3 SE, 9-3 Linear, 9-3 Aero, 9-3 Arc, 9-3 Viggen. Question - How well do these hold up overtime. Keeping in mind I am looking for a 2001-2003 and I will be putting on about 25k a year and I want to keep it at least 5 years. So I'll be driving it from miles 40-50k to 200-225k. Anyone in the car business or with personal experience let me know. Thanks.
  14. Heidl House is great, American Club too. How about taking the Ferry across the big pond to the West Coast of Michigan. You will not be disappointed.
  15. Not well. If David Ortiz and Mo Vaughn can do it, anyone can, but he hasnt played infield ever, taking shots up the line and scooping short hops from fielders isnt exactly routine.
  16. So if they were Toyota's would it be comparable to Corolla, Camry, Avalon then?
  17. Why dont they just resign Bobby Higginson, they're about the same player at this point.
  18. New car questions - How do these cars compare size and price wise? Nissan Sentra, Maxima, Altima
  19. That is some great advice. Thanks guys. I'll have to make a few stops at dealers around the area, maybe this week sometime.
  20. RE: Push pull and drag. Ive never done it, because Ive never traded in a car to get a new one, but as I understand it this option is usually only available for new cars or used cars above a certain amount, and $5,000 is the high end of those deals. most are between 3-4k. There probably less room to "haggle" as well. I too have wondered how the car dealers make out on those, as my gut tells me it isnt nearly as good a deal as it sounds for the consumer.
  21. Im definitely zeroing in on a Hyundai. From what I have read on my own research, since about 2001 they've really stepped it up and have been producing much better vehicles, plus the 10 yr. 100k mile warranty is nice. I just wonder how it will preform from miles 150k-199k, if it comes to that. which if I stay at my current job, it might. For example, I spent some time on the phone with some guy from Boucher Hyundai/Chevy in Waukesha today. I might be trading in my car there. I saw a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe for 7,995, with 86k miles. What's the gas mileage like on those things. I'll probably end up with an Elantra. I like Nissan and Mazda more, but they seem to be more expensive.
  22. That doesnt sound what I am looking for.
  23. Yeah Al, I know Ive heard you talk highly of them in the past. Size-wise, what does an Ion compare to?
  24. Hey guys, about 13 months ago I posted a similar question, only it was about the need for a mini-van. I got a lot of good responses and have been happy with the Town and Country I ended up with. Well, it is time to finally call it a career for the 1994 Honda Accord with 235k miles and no working spedometer. I could probably get another 100k miles out of it, but it's time to upgrade. First question is regarding the types of cars I am looking at. Something 2002 or newer, 4 door sedan. I have been thinking about a Hyundai, possibly a Sonata or an Elantra, maybe even a Santa Fe. I know they used to have bad reputations, but Ive heard they are making them much better now. What do you all think about Hyundai's, and more importantly... I travel about 500-600 Miles a week, so I am gonna pile the miles on this thing. Im looking to get 5 years out of it. Next, I am trading in my Honda, 1.) anyone know of any push pull and drag sales where you get good (minimum) trade in value for your car (say 3-5k) and 2.) what is the catch with those deals - they cannot be as good as they sound?? Im gonna start doing some research on my own so I will probably come back with more specific questions. Looking to spend less than 10k.
