  1. No, he doesn't throw hard anymore. That's the problem.
  2. Here's CC's answer to my question. I'm not buying it. You pitch whoever of your top 5 relievers is in the best shape for one inning to get the win. That was Wilson in this case. Seems clear though that Matt Bush is going to be DFA'd before tomorrow's game. Pannone probably getting sent back down, too.
  3. Yeah, you're right. So, Uribe and Andrews it is.
  4. I need to hear from Counsell why Wilson wasn't available out of the pen tonight. I'm 99% sure we win the game if he pitches the 9th.
  5. Seriously, though, give me Uribe for Bush. And Clayton Andrews/Strzelecki for Pannone tomorrow.
  6. Who is it on? Offense did its job. Freddy was okay.
  7. Somebody better ask Counsell why Bryse Wilson wasn't available tonight.
  8. There's zero reason why Bryse Wilson shouldn't be available tonight to close this out, unless there's an injury we don't know about.
  9. Good job by Pannone all things considered. Too bad he's headed back to the minors after the game tonight.
  10. Obviously, mathematically they don't have a 0% chance. I'm just saying they're not making the playoffs this year, and I feel fully comfortable making that statement.
  11. This is the liveliest Pittsburgh crowd I've seen in years. In a game they're down by 4, too.
  12. This isn't even correct. The Cardinals were 8.5 games out of the WC on 9/1/11. Give me a link for the fangraphs% you got from 2011 because I haven't been able to find it.
  13. Thank you, Brice Turang. That holds off the Payamps discussion for now.
  14. Days matter more than pitches, if it's not an excessive #.
  15. That's not that excessive for two games. Otherwise, he threw last Sunday and Tuesday and that's it. Better situation compared to Williams, who's thrown 4/5 games including 26 last night; Milner, who's thrown 5/6; and Peguero, who's thrown 5/6.
