  1. I hope it's Mitchell or Wiemer. We need Frelick's bat.
  2. Please, don't get my hopes up! If that's the case, Brewers OF prospect on the way out, too?
  3. Travis D'Arnaud, I'm guessing....
  4. Totally expecting nothing to happen now lol
  5. And Woodruff put up a 3.5 fWAR, compared to a 2.9 fWAR for Rasmussen. Woodruff also with far better strikeout and peripheral numbers. bWAR, which you reference, is the worst source for measuring pitchers. Case in point, it gave Wade Miley a higher WAR than Corbin Burnes in 2021...Sheesh You can offer whatever explanation you want, but fact of the matter is that the innings totals aren't there at this point for Rasmussen as they are for other sure-fire ace pitchers. He averaged just over 5 innings per start, whereas a guy like Corbin Burnes averaged well over 6 innings per start. That may change going forward if they do decide to stretch Rasmussen out and he keeps his ERA below 3, but right now, he's more of a middle of the rotation starter than a top of the rotation one.
  6. WI basketball the last two years is worse than a heart attack. Can't complain too much about winning, though. They just know how to get it done in the final minutes, save for the end of regulation tonight. Expect to see them in the top 25 tomorrow!
  7. Rasmussen is interesting because he's turned into a low strikeout guy and the Rays almost never let him pitch beyond the fifth inning. Which is why he only threw 146 innings this season despite making 28 starts. So, despite an ace-like ERA, I probably wouldn't call him an ace as the innings and strikeout numbers just aren't there. I also doubt he even becomes a starter if he remains a Brewer, as the Brewers just didn't seem to have any interest in moving him to that role a la Josh Hader. The Rays obviously thought he could have success as a starter if they carefully managed his innings, and he's ended up proving them right for the most part. At this point, you have to call it a win-win for both teams, with maybe an ever so slight advantage to the Brewers...
  8. England at the World Cup since 1966 is so sad.
  9. No indication that Urias is being moved from 3B, where he's played predominantly for the last two seasons...Plus Urshela's going to make around $10 million in arbitration, which wouldn't make sense given that we traded Wong who was going to make the same amount. Either they'd want to go with the cheaper Turang or a clear upgrade, which Urshela isn't.
  10. You don't think this offense would have struggled even more had we not had Tellez? I certainly think so. Especially when the alternative was Hiura who put up a negative WAR in that timeframe with an obscene number of strikeouts. Not exactly a "lateral" move... Plus, the story is not yet entirely written with Tellez as he still has two years of control and is set to be one of the biggest beneficiaries in the majors of the shift ban with his stellar hard hit numbers. Something like what Steamer has him projected for (123 wRC+) would be huge for the offense.
  11. I seem to recall them adding to the MLB club at the 2021 deadline by trading for Escobar and a couple of relievers. The relievers may have ultimately flopped, but that was certainly "adding" and Escobar OPSed .800 for us. Not to mention they tried to trade for Bryan Reynolds and Max Scherzer, but were rebuffed and/or outbid.
  12. The series was fairly close. If we hold onto a lead in game 4, which was given to us by Tellez, it goes to 5 games. Regardless, how was that trade not a win for us considering what Tellez has provided for us and what we ended up giving to the Jays?
  13. And the chances of that happening are.....?? Binelas' AA numbers don't exactly inspire a ton of confidence that he'll defy the odds.
  14. Correct. I should have said JBJ et al. Doesn't change the fact that it was a great trade...
  15. I don't care about the negativity. I may not agree with it, but that's your right so long as you seek to engage in honest conversation. But you do realize that literally every post you make contains a reference to the Hader trade and your hatred of it in one form or another? And that is not an exaggeration....The horse is dead at this point, just let it lie. It's a new season and a new offseason. No need to keep bringing it into every thread you post in.
  16. Two big home runs, with one being a game winner. Without him, that series isn't even close. You can laugh all you want, but that alone is more than what the Jays have gotten from that trade.
  17. I'm not trying to make him out to be a superstar or anything, but considering what we gave up and what he's provided for us, it was a good trade for the Brewers that helped the team. He's also due to be perhaps the biggest beneficiary in the majors of the shift ban.
  18. We already have an Urshela. His name is Luis Urias. Same exact WAR last season and a superior WAR the season before that...
  19. Renfroe may have been one and done, but we had absolutely no business getting him for JBJ. That was a pure master stroke by Stearns and a huge upgrade this past season compared to what Avisail Garcia would have given us had we resigned him to the $53 million deal the Marlins gave him... Who did we trade to the Jays for Tellez? Trevor Richards, who put up a 5.34 ERA and a -0.8 WAR this past season, and Bowden Francis, who had an ERA of 6.59 this season in AAA. Meanwhile, we got a player who single handedly carried the offense in the 2021 NLDS, and then came back and hit 35 HRs this year. The fact that he is hypothetically available in a trade means nothing when you consider that we were also listening on Burnes, Woodruff, and Adames until recently. As for the Adames trade, Feyereisen has only been able to pitch in 60 innings for TB and is now undergoing shoulder surgery. Rasmussen has been really good in a starting role for TB, but his combined WAR over the last two seasons doesn't even match Adames' from this year and has limited innings because the Rays don't let him pitch past the 5th inning. In addition, Adames proved to be the catalyst for a 95 win ball-club in 2021 and has developed into a top 10 SS in the game. A "push"? Hardly. We traded from a position of strength in our pitching, and in return, got the high-level SS we desperately needed...
  20. And yet again you can't help but bring up the Hader trade...
  21. He never should've let him get to this season. If only he took the same approach he did with football. And we're supposed to be a blue blood program...
  22. Agreed. Really excited for France-England. Of course, given England's WC history, they'll probably lose 5-0 tomorrow...
  23. No worries. My question was more directed at the FO than you as I just want to see a clear strategy and some sort of move lol. Unless they want to pay a lot for Varsho, I don't see where they're going here.
