I mean it’s not like we’ve been dealing with a ton of injuries or anything. And yet, the manager you’re saying you're done with has us in first place in the division with a better than 90% chance to make our franchise record fifth consecutive postseason appearance.

Clevinger starting on Sunday, so 2/4 games against lefties. Padres are struggling to score runs themselves, which gives us a good chance.

Also was around the time when we were briefly ranked the number #1 farm system in baseball, if I recall. Safe to say that we traded the right guys out of that group, with the exception of Ray. -

Padres are reeling, particularly on offense. So long as we hit some and decide to actually play defense, we have the opportunity for.a very good series. Also looking forward to what hopefully is the return of Hunter Renfroe for tomorrow night's game and a loss of playing time for Cain.

You’re completely right. It’s not fair to Chourio personally to foist all of these expectations on him so early in his development. It is refreshing, however, to the fan to know that after struggling to develop position players in recent years we potentially have a prospect along the lines of Soto, Vlad Jr., Acuna, etc. -
On the positive side, the Padres are coming to town fresh off a sweep at the hands of the Cardinals. They are also very injured and experiencing serious issues with their lineup. And at least we can beat the Pirates, unlike the Dodgers who won 1 of their 6 games against them this year.

I would be careful about lumping Cain and Yelich together here. Yelich is at least OPSing over .700, and the metrics indicate that should be at least 50-75 points higher. Cain is OPSing below .500, which is absolutely not acceptable for a major league player.

I'm not talking about a permanent stay. All I'm saying is that we can't have Cain on the roster any longer, and that there's no way him or Davis could do worse. What's wrong with bringing Turang up for the Padres series and then sending him back down once Adames returns?

They also DFA'd Cano, who isn't a free agent until 2024 and is owed more than Cain.

As for Cain, there's no way you can tell me that a guy like Jonathan Davis or even Brice Turang wouldn't be better than him right now. Renfroe will be back soon anyways (hopefully on Friday), which makes Taylor your starting centerfielder. And if it were Turang to get the call he would ensure that you wouldn't ever have to play Brosseau at SS.

I'm not concerned until there's another "negative" update. Sophia already said last night that Adames wasn't going to play today. Looks like the new goal for him is the Phillies series.

That being said, I don't know how you could say it was anything but a successful roadtrip with the amount of obstacles we faced.

Had all the chances. Injuries starting to catch up with this team. We need Adames and Renfroe back ASAP. And Cain needs to leave this team.
