  1. Too early to say he’s “Chourio 2.0”, but you definitely give him the Chourio treatment until he proves he can’t handle it. Which would include starting him out in Carolina next season.
  2. Chourio can't catch any luck this homestand. Almost all of his balls have been hard hit and he has one hit to show for.
  3. Frelick is also really a better alternative than Turang in the leadoff spot at this point.
  4. Agreed. I doubt the Rangers even put him on waivers to begin with.
  5. Welp, looks like Turang's April/May got him penciled into the leadoff spot for infinity....Sigh.
  6. Obviously, we picked up our starting playoff 3B in Donaldson off the waiver market last year. Could we have an opportunity to patch up some of our holes this year? Fangraphs explored today who could become available if the Rangers decided to waive the white flag and go all in on cutting costs. Some names who might be of interest to the Brewers. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-of-the-order-could-the-rangers-waive-the-white-flag/ By far the biggest potential addition would be Eovaldi. He would be a game changer at the top of the Brewers rotation, considering it was only a year ago that he started game 1 and the clinching game of the World Series.
  7. Honestly, I would call them both up and sooner rather than later. Yoho isn't being challenged at all in the minors. He's ready for the show and probably ready to dominate. Might as well start getting ready for life without Devin of which he will be a key part. As for Mis, they look committed at this point to pitching him out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season to limit his innings. He's mowed down AAA hitters his last two appearances and hasn't issued any free passes. If he keeps that up over the rest of the month, I think you absolutely have to give him the call. Yes, he doesn't have to be added to the 40 man until next offseason, but let's be honest: do you really think he won't already force himself onto the 40 man before then? Bottom line is we're going to need arms who are capable of getting outs in the postseason. We're almost certainly not going to get as many out of our rotation as in past years, which means more are going to have to come from the bullpen. With Hudson, Koenig, etc. experiencing declining results as a consequence of heavy early season usage, Yoho and Mis can step in to steady the ship. Because their arms are the definition of postseason caliber.
  8. Brewers actually have a pretty solid pitching advantage tonight as Stone has been genuinely awful since July while Rea has been at his best in that timeframe. Have to take advantage.
  9. Okay that was stupid. Not like Hoskins is a singles hitter and you're trying to get Contreras home.
  10. So, Freddy is getting squeezed so far while Kershaw is getting several inches out of the zone. Hope that changes.
  11. Could perhaps be the last start of Kershaw's career vs. the Brewers...Of course, having said that watch him pitch like vintage Kershaw tonight because baseball.
  12. Wow, hell of a spot to put your closer. lol
  13. Has nothing to do with health. Just go back and look at the scouting report grades. Chourio has a multi-time MVP ceiling. Mitchell does not even if he stays fully healthy. Mitchell has a high ceiling and could conceivably put up some great seasons, I agree. But it's still just not comparable to Chourio
  14. True. And I hope we start off in the NLDS. Just saying.
  15. I like Mitchell as much as anyone, but he does not. Chourio has a better hit tool and more raw power at all of 20 years age. While playing elite defense. The ceiling of Chourio is incomparable on this team.
  16. Going to be honest. If we end up in the Wild Card series, I think I want to face this Braves team the most with all their injuries. Then the Mets, Padres, and Dbacks in order.
  17. Who are struggling majorly themselves....Was just so obviously not the smartest statement.
  18. Just noticed Chourio untucks his jersey after every win. He keeps that up and he's liable to getting beaned in our next series in St. Louis.
  19. I'm not saying Haase isn't a superior option to Mejia. I'm just saying that doesn't justify having to stash him on the active roster over the next few weeks of critical games. Especially when it's questionable whether he'd actually be claimed by another team.
  20. Wow. Ozuna just got under that one. Otherwise that was going to be gone.
  21. I'm personally not seeing much that would lead a team to claim him if they didn't the first time around. And even then, I'd be fine with Mejia as backup to Contreras and Sanchez.
  22. Yeah. I really just don't see the point of Eric Haase anymore.
  23. Why isn't Turang pinch hitting here?
  24. Very nice job against Sale all things considered.
